Mark M.Don't use them. They are the plumbers that never leave. Half way through my job they hit me up for another $13,000 because Dan said he miscalculated. I had to pay it because we were too far along to get someone to pick up the job after them. Then the partner's split up and Dan hired his brother who's on disability from the police department. Every faucet that he installed had to be tightened. He was unable to install toilets because he was unfamiliar with new toilets and how they are connected. Dan often needed to recheck his work. They didn't always show when they say they will and then I caught them lying to the reason why they were a no show while we waited for them. It's a business that is over stressed and over worked. There are far better reputable plumbers out there.
Jonathan G.Rocky Point Mechanical was recommended to me by my HVAC contractor for the plumbing to replace my 13 year old 50 gallon water heater that was blocking the way to my CAC/Furnace, which also needed replacing. I was concerned about going with a contractor I hadn't met on my own.
Not only was Dan pleasant to deal with, but he was able to meet me very quickly for a quote, give me the exact Rheem Tankless Water Heater I wanted in the timeframe I wanted, and out of the 4 quotes I had received, he was the lowest by a few hundred dollars.
The morning of the Install, I met his brother, Joe, who was very respectful of my house, insisting on going the long way around to avoid going across my rug. At one point, I had expressed concern about the location of the water heater being so close to the HVAC, but in the end, it actually turned out saving a lot of space (see pics).
Dan stopped by to check on the job and update me that two other members of his crew would be by to do the gas line and remove the old water heater. Mike led the gas line Install. He was very professional and explained the operation of the unit.
The whole job was neat and Joe even reinforced the older piping and insulated it. I couldn't be happier with my new water heater.
The only blip that I didn't expect was that I had to run my own power source to the water heater in order to avoid using an extension cord. This had been included in the other quotes I had received, but they were also much more expensive, so I really can't complain. After the job was completed, weeks later, Dan helped me qualify for a National Grid rebate when they were giving me trouble submitting it.
I would use Rocky Point Mechanical again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend them!!!
Mike came on a Sunday to replace my bath vanity. He brought his younger brother who is a very nice young man- to train him in the business. I found them to be trust worthy, hard working and good at their craft. His price was in the ballpark of other plumbers. He checked out 2 other problems with leaks and fixed on the spot... No charge... Maybe I shouldn't be saying that because I'm sure he charges for that service but maybe it was just a really simple thing-- even so he could've charged me . So the least I can do is tell people that I was delighted to meet these young guys and I will definitely call them when I need any plumbing done. My bill was itemized and clearly explained. He tidied up too. They were recommended to me by Mike at southpaw construction who is also great.
Stacey G.After a few weeks of negotiating prices with Mike and his father to install a pool heater in my backyard, they failed to show up on the scheduled installation date. Then they wouldn't even answer my calls! It wasn't until I called Mike from a blocked number days after he never showed up did I finally get in touch with him, and even then he totally blew me off with excuses. I really wanted to give my business to a smaller, family-owned company but it was such a waste of time and effort. And for what? Why did they string me along for weeks? I could have scheduled with another company and it would have been done by now, but now I have to start from the beginning again. I can't understand why this company just decided they didn't want my business at last minute... And didn't even have the decency to tell me or return my calls after.
