Recommended Customer Reviews
This company, Roby's Plumbing and Heating, has VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I called to get a quote on having some work done. After speaking with the representative he took down my contact information regardless of whether their availability lined up with ours. Upon ending the call I told him that I would talk it over with my husband and call back. We found a company better suited for what we were looking for. So, I didn't bother calling back since I never scheduled an appointment. The next day (June 26, 2020) this fool called my phone and said he had someone on the way to my house that I didn't approve of. He got pissed and sarcastically said thanks for telling us and hung up the phone (POOR ASS DESPERATE ASS CUSTOMER SERVICE)!!!. I called back to discuss the situation and he hung up again. I called back he sent me to voicemail. So I'm forced to alert any and everyone that is considering doing business with them...DON'T DO IT! If you do, get everything in writing up front! He was nice as long as he thought he was gonna take my money but a complete asshole when he didn't seal the deal. CONSIDER THIS YOUR WARNING!
I had an emergency plumbing issue and Roby's was able to get here on a Saturday. They were very professional and completed all the work as estimated. Very happy with their services. Would recommend!
We had Roby's here for sewer line. They came and snaked the drain a small portion and said we had a callused tile. Nothing they could do. Here 20 minutes. $125.00 later. Said we needed to call a guy named Cory. He would excavate and put in new line. Well thank God he could not get here right away and we were given another name. He can within 15 minutes cleared the line and no issues. Amazing how Roby's said they couldn't do it. I would not suggest Roby's to any one. But I will recommend the guy that fixed our problem. Thank you Ronnie Updegraff Pluming. He cleared it for 150.00. Otherwise would of had the yard tore up and spend a fortune for no reason. Very unhappy with Roby's.
Stacey H.My mother had one of your technicians out Monday morning. He ran a snake and investigated what he could get to. He discovered the problem and explained the
Situation very clearly. He then went on to tell her that he was to big to fit and they did not have anyone that would. When she asked what she owed him. He said nothing. We were both surprised..and grateful, she is a senior and on a fixed income. I truly appreciate that! You now have a new customer and Robys will be our go to plumbers. :)
Roby's always does prompt and quality work, but they went above and beyond for a customer friend of mine yesterday. He had recently had a dishwasher installed by Roby's and on a later date, Robys put in a new disposal. When the sink apparently backed up into the dw, my friend was very upset. Robys sent a technician very quickly. Jason very kindly and scientifically evaluated the issue and determined that my friend had caused the problem by plunging the clog in the sink, causing the backup. While they could have charged for this, they didn't. I appreciate that they stand by their work and are also willing to help out a long term client with an ""operator error""
Zsuzsa B.I needed to replace my aging water heater, and someone recommended Roby's for the job. The service man showed up promptly - he sent a text to let me know he was on his way - gave me a reasonable estimate, and replaced my water heater in less than two hours.
Patty L.Estimate 8 hours $1200.00, finished in 4 hours $1139.00. $285.00 an hour REALLY! What a rip off! Make sure you get everything in writing or you will have a very upsetting outcome!
Laura V.Our water heater broke and, while we were without hot water for three days, Roby's did come as soon as they could on Monday and fixed the problem in the quickest way possible. Everything was covered under warranty and went fairly smoothly.
This company lacks integrity. My wife and I retired to Anderson two years ago and called Roby's for four dripping faucets. The repairman told us he would charge $760 for all four. He then said he'd give us a ""deal"" and only charge $450 for all four faucets.
My 62 year-old wife went to a hardware store and bought four faucet washers for $1.10 each. She fixed it herself for a total of $4.40, plus her labor (which she didn't charge me for.)
Roby's takes advantage of homeowners, and in this case, the elderly. We may be old, but we're certainly not stupid.
Chris G.Stage two of my plumbing leak saga - after TSI Energy Solutions located the leak for me I needed to have someone come out and repair it. I contacted Roby's and another company prior to knowing where the leak was (since I was honestly just gathering information) and not fully understanding what would be covered under insurance. Very stressful time.
As part of the quote process, Roby's and the other company both thought I would need a completely new line (again - prior to knowing where the leak was). Roby's gave me a very detailed handwritten quote for both a new line and a quote for repair if the line was outside of the home. The other company was sort of ""meh"" on a repair and really just wanted to run a new line (which was about 4X the cost of repair if it could be done). Once I had the location of the leak outside I decided to go with Roby's for the repair.
They wanted the water off for a couple of days prior to repair - the ground was so saturated with water (and it was in late February there was 6"" of snow on the ground and it was flipping cold). We had the water shut off on Friday and it was off for a good five days prior to them coming out. They started work on Tuesday. He also indicated that due to the saturation of the ground and location of the leak they would hand dig to the water line since the excavation equipment would have really torn up the yard and sunk into the ground.
Day 1 - the master plumber's (Jason) helper started digging and they had a hard time finding the line. He spent about 3 hours digging and still couldn't find it. They had to sump water (and mud) into the side yard as the hole kept filling up. What a mess.
Day 2 - they both came back and after a couple of hours found the pipe about 5 feet down and a bit off the mark from TSI. Small hole in the service line - likely an impurity in the copper. Replaced the section of bad pipe with CPT, checked the water again at the meter and house to ensure there were no additional leaks, and started filling in the hole.
A few days later - the helper came back and finished up the hole filling in and cleaned off the side of the house.
The total cost for the line repair was labor rate for the plumber ($115/hr) and helper ($45/hr) plus materials for the repair. This totaled out to just over $1300 which was an accurate representation of the time spent. This was slightly higher than what they quoted but with the time it took to find the line it was right.
I was exceptionally pleased with Jason and his helper's professionalism and diligence. I'm not privy to the conversations had on their end but in my eyes this was a very difficult and hard repair due to the digging required and my guess there were several f-bombs involved.
A couple of weeks later - we received a card from Roby's thanking us for our business along with a comment card that we could fill out. Very cool since I don't know I've ever received anything like that. I found out later that Roby's had also run a gas line at my parents house and they were also impressed with their professionalism and diligence/attention to detail.
While I don't hope I need them, I will most definitely be calling Roby's in the future for my plumbing needs. I was exceptionally happy with my experience with them.
