I have been meaning to write this review since last winter. We had a problem involving a hot water circulating pump and our hot water heater. Of course, it was the weekend, less than zero outside, and no hot water running through the pipes of our 100+year old fan house. I called Robinson's, and they sent Rodney. W O W. He not only diagnosed the problem within one minute, he did the repair almost as fast. We waited for the water to fill the tank, made sure it would light, and he left with a smile and a handshake. Superb knowledge and efficiency! IDK if all Robinson's technicians are as good as this guy, but the dispatcher (who is also very knowledgeable) says they are, and I believe her. You can't get any better than Robinson's. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I wish I could rate the actual work, but the technician never showed up during the two hour window we were given, nor did we receive a call during that window notifying us that he would be late. We finally called Robinson's and they informed us the technician would be an hour late - we took off work to be home for the entire two hour window and could not stay an extra hour. We have sewage coming out of our drains so this was an emergency. Fortunately we found another local plumber who was able to work with our schedule and the rate was significantly less.

A great experience! I was in a real bind because our gas hot water heater went out. It appeared to be the igniter. It's a 80k BTU, dual burner, 75 gallon power vented unit but if it won't light what's the point. You can't manually light it b/c the electronics lock out the gas supply. Anyway, I called and the very kind receptionist found a way to work me into their schedule. Her assistance cannot be overstated b/c without her efforts I would have been out of luck. Robert the technician was the most helpful technician I've ever encountered. He went above and beyond! He tracked down the needed part that the local supplier didn't have and was able to pick it up even though it was across town. You could tell he really cared about my family having hot water. He also spent time explaining the options for a replacement hot water heater if needed down the road and all the great services Robinson's Plumbing provides. Based on this interaction I know I will be calling them for all my plumbing needs. I like that they are a local company that really values helping people. Besides their good reviews i went with them b/c I'm near James River HS so they are close by and they sell State HW heater - the Brand I have. I can attest that all the positive reviews are accurate.

I utilized this company for repair/replacement of a well pump. I must say that I was taken back by the service person's comments when I introduced family members to him. He was extremely discourteous to me and my family. I also asked to be placed on a payment plan for the repairs requested and I was, in turn, treated with the upmost disrespect regarding this process. I received calls and emails from them regarding my payment plan, they performed a water test at my residence, and didn't send me the results until I had to finally request them. I asked about preventative maintenance plans and they did not want to talk to me--not sure why. I guess I was not deemed suitable as a potential customer. They did complete the necessary repairs at my residence, but the manner in which I was treated left me feeling like I was not a ""proper"" customer for them. I will never utilize their service again, basically because of the way I was treated by their service person, managers, and others in their employ.

These guys totally changed my opinions of service contractors. In the past all contractors I had dealt with from comcast, to HVAC, to plumbers never showed up on time, or would give a quote then not seem to want to come back on time to complete work or would miss deadlines NOT Robinson's! This company runs like a well oiled machine. They show up when they promise, they complete work quickly and efficiently, and are reasonable with their rates. I do not mind paying for quality if it means i pay for it once and the work lasts. Will never use a different company again. Keep up the good work guys! I highly recommend Preston for residential and Robert for commercial.

I needed a plumber ASAP on a Sunday night. I had to shut off the water to the house because of a large water leak. In less then 90 minutes they were at my house. They were friendly,efficient and knowledgeable. I thought the price was very fair. I would use again.

Our realtor recommended Robinsons Plumbing to replace the water tank for our well. The house inspector gave us an estimated range of what a normal charge for this work would be. Robinsons was the only repair we had done that exceeded the upper range of the estimates. Actually, it greatly exceeded the normal charge. When my husband asked why the bill was so high he was told that it included a $68 trip charge!! This was on top of the charge for doing the work. We were never told of this charge beforehand. When we complained to our realtor she said that didn't sound right and she contacted Robinsons. They said this was a normal charge and there would be no refund. We would never hire this company to do any further work for us. Buyer beware.

Their prices are outrageous. They charge $59 just to show up. Then another price to assess your problem. Then another price to fix the problem. Talk about nickel and diming. Overall, to replace a leaking pipe, they estimated $400--that's on top of the show up charge and assessment charge. Our assessment charge was $55. After the got the estimate to fix the problem, we hired someone else, but we were still out the almost $120 they charged us to show us and tell us what was wrong. Ridiculous. We ended up using Conston and they charged us $183 to fix the pipe.

I've used RPS for several jobs. Remodeling three bathrooms, my kitchen and my two business. They are not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Right in the middle. More importantly, they are professional and get job done right the first time! I would use them again and recommend.

I had Mike come and replace a section of cracked cast iron in a difficult corner of the house. Not only did Robinsons Plumbing provide the lowest bid, he did a quick and quality repair in half a day; suprisingly quick for the difficulty of the job. When the repair had clogged the drain pipe below the fixed section, he came back the next day and after a thorough inspection he unclogged it without question. He even went beyond expectation and snaked the drain line all the way to the street. Robinsons Plumbing and Mike will be the first people I call the next time I need a plumbing issue resolved.
