Air conditioning not conditioning, hot in here.
Called Robertson who I had used happily a few years ago.
What a difference a few years makes! 5 days later Tech comes out and says I need new coil, freon, AND a new flux capacitor....oh sorry, a new TXV. (?)

Uhm...$2600+ on an older system sounds like 1/2 way to a new a system to me.
Called Curtis in Crozet. Tech here next day, 20 mins later new $86. capacitor in outside unit and we are conditioning with our conditioner. I am grilling the poor guy, don't we need this, don't we need that? he ran a full diagnostic, everything to spec. Thank you very much.

Hmmmmm, Definitely get a second opinion, especially if Robertson is involved.

I called for plumber to affix new shower nob, job took less than 10 minutes, and I was charged $96. A day later my wife noted that the nob was not placed correctly, it was in wrong direction. I called Robertson's, got an answering service in Georgia, explained I needed a re-do. They said someone would call on Monday. No return call ever came from Robertson's (at least no message on the answering machine was ever left). Weeks later the shower nob is still in wrong position. I got better service from Robertson's HVAC service.

I called Robertson Electric because we had no hot water. A real person answered the phone and they scheduled an appointment that day. They showed up when they promised, were really nice, quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue, cleaned up after themselves, and charged me exactly what they had given me as an estimate. I would highly recommend them to others. Five stars, great job.

I called about an electrical problem on Monday and a real person answered and scheduled an appointment for me on Thursday. The technician showed up on time, listened to my description of the problem, and quickly found and repaired the problem. They'll be my first call next time too!

Previous review is right. They don't call back. THey say a technician will call back but they never do. When I called back they told me they could only do it after 5pm and would need to charge me overtime just to come out to look at it.

I had Robertson come to give an estimate on a plumbing issue. They told me they would call back with details. I had to call 3 times, asking for follow up and never heard back. Not once. Nothing.

Absolutely do not use them!!!! they do horrible work I was very disappointed in the work they did in my home and had to call another company to fix it because on top of everything that was wrong I also had things missing from my home. when I informed the owner he never called me back and when I finally got in touch with him he proceeded to get nasty and hang up on me....real professional. Since there are numerous great companies out there that actually care about their customers I would suggest that you use anyone but this company HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
