Dan E.Wanted $498.50 to install a new toilet and remove the old one! Wowser! Guess I'll keep looking!
Amy M.I called them on Friday and they told me it was $89 to have someone come out and diagnose the problem, and then they would tell me what needed to be done to fix it before they did the fix. My husband and I discussed it and wanted to make sure it would be a full diagnostic with a camera run through our plumbing. I called Monday morning and specifically asked if the diagnostic included a camera being run through our pipes so I could see exactly what the problem was before they started the fix. The lady answered that yes a camera would be run and I would be able to see what the exact problem was BEFORE proceeding with any service. There was no room for confusion as this was the only question I asked on this phone call and the only thing discussed. Turns out they didn't have a camera that would fit in my pipes, and the service tech said to run a camera it would be $300. They are ""ASSUMING"" it was a clog in my pipe where the laundry and kitchen drain and it would be $325 to auger it.....This pipe is maybe 15ft and only a 1 1/2 pipe....The service guy also told me that if that pipe was not clogged the $325 was non-refundable but could be applied towards a different service. So they didn't run a camera, and could not tell me for sure that this pipe was the actual problem. I will not be paying $89 for someone to flush some toilets and guess at what the problem could be... And when my husband called the lady back to complain about not getting a camera through our pipes, she said she never told me a camera would be run. This lady is a liar and there are other plumbing companies out there that are way cheaper. Skip the headache with these people and keep looking.
Corey S.In Sawyer, MI. Installed furnace and blower in the gas fireplace for a competitive price.
Maggie A.Rip off. I knew the problem, sink strainer basket leaking, I knew the trip charge was $89, what I didn't know was they wanted $629 to change the 2 strainers!!! What a rip off. The lady on the phone could have told me that on the phone. Had to pay him $89 to do nothing.
Wolfgang P.If I could have given less than one star I would have!
I scheduled a service call for my boiler and was told the Chuck would arrive at my home between the hours of 2:00 P.M and 5:00 P.M. I took off work to meet him and waited all afternoon for him to show up as scheduled. No word from Chuck or Roberts Service until 5:55 P.M. and I was told by Chuck to reschedule my appointment. So at 7:00 A.M. the following day I called and got Scott Roberts voicemail and left a message that my wife would be home today from 9:00A.M until noon we would plan on seeing Chuck then and gave him my cell number in case he needed to contact me. Later that morning I received a call from a woman at Roberts Service and she said they could get me in on the following Monday. I asked her why I was not the first one on the schedule the day after my appointment which I waited four hours for and Chuck never showed up.
Her reply was ""well that is not how Mr. Roberts works""
As you can assume that was the wrong answer!!
I completely understand the four hour window because most service calls are tough to estimate time needed and one issue could delay the entire day of appointments. I would bet Chuck knew before 5:55 P.M. that he was not going to make it to my house for the scheduled appointment. But rather than extending common courtesy and calling me to let me know that, he waited until almost one hour past the latest scheduled time to call and tell me I needed to reschedule without any apology or explanation. Not that that would have made any difference to me at that point. What Scott Roberts didn't know is that I was also going to have them give me a quote on a new boiler as well.
You can figure out what I said about that also. Nope.
So I decided to do the service on my boiler myself because it is not tough just dirty. Upon looking into the cement block chimney it was full of soot up to 4' from the bottom of the chimney and 1/4 past where the boiler chimney pipe enters the cement block chimney flu. Further examination of the boiler exposed the interior of the fire box which also had what I would call an acceptable amount of soot in it. That I would call normal though to be objective. The fire box wet blanket however was not even intact and had fallen into the middle of the fire box due to the age of the unit and normal ware. Now that could have just happened but due to the amount of soot on top of the blanket I do not think so. After finding these two glaring issues with the boiler I was glad that I opened it up because I would have never know that Chuck had apparently not been doing the job over the past ten years that they have been servicing this boiler.
I will never use Roberts Service again!!!
We use Roberts to maintain the boilers, AC and plumbing in our business, and they do a great job. Scott and crew are very punctual, always honest about what problems they find, and prices are very reasonable.
This company is the greatest for service, and for buying heating and air conditioning, in my case, for the home. Very reliable, very reasonable, and very honest. I've been doing business with this company in excess of 10 years, and have never been disappointed. I can't say enough about this company, it's owner and their employees. Check them out before you spend your hard earned $$ with the wrong company.
