Roberts Plumbing Hydro Jet and Rooter

I have a 90 year old house and all the problems that come with it. Robert has fixed everything from a ""bad"" faucet (me forgetting to press a button) and standard plumbing work to two terrible drainage issues and multiple gas leaks. I trust Robert completely to deal with any challenge we encounter. Here's why:
1) He knows what he is doing. He's experienced and will think about the best way to solve the problem. He has necessary tools on his truck including hydro jet equipment. His work is top notch. He cares about his work and his customers.
2) He is a great communicator--he answers calls or emails promptly. He shows up when he says he will. If he is running late or stuck in traffic, he calls. He sends photos of work in process or issues he encounters, His bids provide the information to make a good decision and if I don't understand some of the recommendations, he explains them clearly until I do.
3) His prices are reasonable. He is fair and if he can find a way to save money, he will make that recommendation with associated pros and cons.
4) He is totally honest. He doesn't pad the bills with unnecessary work or time. On one of our bigger disasters, we had to leave town for 3 weeks in the middle of his work. I gave him a key to the house and never worried. He treats my house like he would his own. He treats my money like he would his own, too.
I cannot recommend Robert more highly.

Had a great experience with Robert. Very professional, came within 2 hours of me calling him and was very polite. My water heater was not working properly and within a few mins he identified the problem and gave me a couple options to fix it. He also was nice enough to check out my shower head to see why it had a whining noise, he not only showed me how to fix it, but gave me a great replacement brand to try out and I love the product he recommended.

We had sewage backing up into our bathtub (eww), so we needed it fixed ASAP. Saw Robert's reviews on Yelp, called him, left a message, and got a call back 8 minutes later. He asked a lot of experienced questions about the issue and had me check the clean-out for him so he had an idea of what to expect when he got here (which, in turn, let him give me the most accurate quote he could).

He had one other stop to make before he could get to me, and he said he'd call me when he was on his way. He did, and was here 15 minutes later. I asked him about hydro jetting vs. snaking, and not only did he never try to upsell me (points for that), but he actually talked me out of doing the hydro jet today. That's a $100 savings, or 2/3 of his next visit, the next time we need him (provided everything goes as smoothly as it did today - his rates are hourly, so YMMV).

He was here and gone in about 40 minutes.

He accepts credit cards, though there's a ""convenience fee"" of 3% or so - basically, you're paying the fee he has to pay when he uses a card, and that was indeed convenient for me, so the extra coupla bucks was worth it for me.

Don't bother with Draino or trying to fix your plumbing issues yourself. Just call Robert. If he's available and on his way, rest easy. He will fix your plumbing problems and it will be done correctly.

Robert has done complex and easy jobs us for since we bought our home in 2011. To name a few, he removed toothbrushes and toy soldiers from our guest bathroom that the previous homeowners happily welcomed us with, replaced the pipe running from our shower so the water wouldn't go up to our knees, installed a pump to drain rain water out of our backyard so that our pool wouldn't sink and it would no longer flood (this is not easy as we live on a hill), replaced our ancient water heater that leaked, reinforced our sinks and toilets, changed toilet seat handles, installed pipes and pumps to get our new washer to work, and unclogged a drain in our kitchen sink. At some point, we are going to have him remodel or bathrooms.

Robert is so honest that he will tell you ahead of time if he can't do the job, how much it will cost, how long it will take, and what you can do to avoid having plumbing issues. He also takes the time to tell you what he's going to do so you understand why you had to call him and how complex or not the job is for him. He is also unbelievably respectful to our house by thoroughly cleaning all the dirt, lint, and gook that you would never know that he was there.

We recently used Robert's Plumbing Hydro Jet & Rooter for a clogged bathroom sink. We originally had our usual plumber come to fix it, but he was unable to complete the job with the tools he had in his truck. He offered to modify the plumbing in the bathroom and we declined. We then called Robert based on a friend's recommendation. Robert arrived on time, and fixed the issue with no problem, using his more advanced equipment. His bill was more than fair, considering the amount of time and effort he put in on the job. Robert is also very friendly, and willing to give a detailed explanation of all available options. I never call or hire a contractor without consulting Yelp or other such facility to see what people have to say about it. Roberts Plumbing is one of those 5-star outfits. I called Robert in the morning and in an hour was at the door. I needed to have the backed up toilet and clogged floor drain fixed right away as we had out-of-state guests. It was kinda urgent thing but I didn't tell him that. As it turned out there was no need to do so as he worked hard and fast to fix the problem. What sets him apart from many others is his patience of explaining things clearly and answering your questions and addressing your concerns. I told him he would be the first one I'm calling next time I have plumbing problem.
