Rich is quick on eliminating problems, that could be time consuming, and then locating the problem, and fixing quickly.
No standing around. Just get it done, reasonably!

Rich with R&K was wonderful. I used his services to have two chandeliers hung, one of which was very problematic. My husband had sent him photos of the two areas that we were working with. However, it was difficult to get a good shot of the entryway. The chandelier was to hang from a high ceiling all the way from the ground floor up to the height of the upstairs ceiling over a staircase, which the banister impeded the use of his equipment. Rich underestimated the difficulty of this most precarious job. But, even though it was more than he bargained for, he did not throw in the towel. He was most persistent in figuring out a way that he could safely hang my chandelier. He went to a lot of effort to get the job done. I really appreciate all the time and patience that Rich put into this job. My lights are now hung and I am thrilled with the final outcome.

Needed a garbage disposal replaced and called a couple of places. Rich was as efficient as he was responsive - the latter of which should be held in as high of importance as other criteria when getting bids. He holds multiple licenses so his quotes are justified. My experience with him proved the notion that's it's best to get it right the first time.

A day later I noticed my water heater leaking. I skipped calling the vendor listed on the water heater and texted Rich a photo instead. He immediately responded, checked my warranty status and called around for stock- all on Christmas Eve day. Long story short, the exact equipment needed was not readily available on Christmas Eve but Rich worked to get it as soon as physically possible and had our unit replaced and had hot water running in no time.

Would recommend him to anyone in need of his services.

I contacted R&K Tradesman for a quote and they are quick to contact you back with a reply and quote. I loved how they called to ask me the details of the project before giving a quote. Unlike most places will give you a quote then jack the price up $200 or move when they arrive.

As far as the 1 and 2 Star reviews on this company. I run my own business and I can tell you time and time again that when I client tells me they have been looking on Craigslist for work done, it will ALWAYS end bad for the company. I always refuse to work with clients, who want to hire me after searching on Craigslist. That Old saying, ""You get what you pay for."" 8-10 times the people, who look for work on Craigslist are either new and need to build their portfolio, don't have license or insurance.

Clients must understand, yes Companies who charge more have more cost involved.

No one goes to a restaurant and tells the location, to lower their prices because another restaurant down the street is lower. Nor does anyone after getting their groceries scan ask the Cashier to lower the price, because the 99 Cent store or Food for Less offers the same thing but cheaper.

The same thing goes for PROFESSIONAL LICENCED and INSURED workers. You go with the people/company you can afford.

Like I said, I got other offers from other handmen on yelp, but does not mean I have ANY negative feels towards this company, because as a consumer I decided to go with company I felt best fits my budget and my needs.

When I told them I was going with someone else, they replied with a Thank you for letting them know.

I feel the 1 Star review on this site are that 10% people, who no matter what are never happy no matter how great of a job someone does. I believe Rick when he said the couple used his licence to hire a cheaper company with no licence to do the work. And if they read this, FYI it is a crime and considered Fraud when you use one Contractors License to have work done. It be a Felony Offense if Mr. Rick contacts Southern Contractors State Licence Board CSLB's (Statewide Investigative Fraud Team) SWIFT at 12501 East Imperial Highway, Suite 610 Norwalk, CA 90650 Office numbers (562) 345-7600. It's really simple to find out from contacting the Landlords to verify work was approved and done.

I have been using R & k for the last 5 years..so they get 5 stars next year six ') Rich knows how to run things & they really do the best work, look you get what you pay for in life construction is no different I've tried other ""cheaper contractors"" yes you will always find a lower bid but you will pay in time-stress then you will have to call Rich to come in & fix it so save up & do it right the first time. I'm in a similar field of work so I can tell you from a professional perspective you will be happier in the long run doing it right the first time.

I had Rich fix an electrical Issue I had before I sold my condo. Took a few hours and he did a great job with what I requested. Price was what he quoted me beforehand and there were not issues. I will use him again if I encounter any issues during the sale.

Rich rocks! I am a renter. My landlord contacted Rich to do a toilet install. Rich installed a new toilet in record time and even went the extra mile and used the paint in the garage to paint the wall behind the toilet that wasn't previously painted. Laid down a furniture blanket in the entryway to avoid tracking in dirt and mud as well as a towel in the bathroom. He cleaned up all of the trash and took it with him. He left my house like he wasn't even there. Good guy!

Update 7/17/17
I noticed a hairline crack in the tank of the toilet installed in January. The toilet had been rocky when sitting down on it and getting up from it since install. I might assume that would eventually put a lot of pressure on the tank. Also installed about 5 inches from the wall. I called Rich when I noticed the crack and he said the ""toilet tank has flexibility and in 30 years never had a toilet crack."" Well he called me back and American Standard admitted that has happened before. As for the rocking, Rich would not take responsibility. He said he would pick up the toilet and get a new one from the manufacturer and install the new toilet for $225 labor. My stepdad came over last night and we trashed that toilet and installed a new one on recommendation from a friend who is a plumber who advised of a good brand. New toilet $130, installation free. Turns out that the toilet was not installed on a level surface hense the rocking. No more rocking and flush with the wall. Rich is expansive and rushes through his work. I admit I should have had him come back right away to fix the rocking.

Call r&k to have them come out to do a repair on a side gate at my house it needed to be re-hung and structurally structurally sound they came out there on time it is a clean neat efficient job had it done in no time the gate works perfectly now I found the price to be as quoted and with no extra add-one. I recommend this company very highly for any type of handyman services

Rich is awesome! When Home Depot wouldn't install our new dishwasher because it is hard wired, he came to the rescue. As a bonus, he fixed a door that's been giving us trouble--no charge. He's quick, professional, clean and just an all around nice guy. His office staff is so pleasant too! We've needed a handyman we could trust for a looooong time. His pricing is very reasonable, so I'm sure we'll have him back for more projects. The best part, as a mom of two young children, I'm 100% comfortable having him in my home.
