I purchased a new HVAC approximately a year ago. I noticed that the upstairs was not getting cool. They came for a service call almost a month ago and nothing has been done. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM HERE!! This is the worst experience that I have ever had. I am losing money because I can not rent out the house because there is no AC. The summer will be over before it is fixed. STAY AWAY.

Buyer Beware!!! There is no way that R. J. Groner deserves a high rating. We called them and told them it was an emergency. Leaking pipe in a cast iron baseboard heater, leaking onto a hardwood floor. I know this type of baseboard unit is no longer made. I gave them the measurement (8 ft), told them I needed the baseboard unit replaced if there was no way to repair it.

So, out they came. Did not bring a replacement (special order, had to order it from the distributor, we don't carry them on the truck, need a different team to install a baseboard heater and on and on). Now, if they know I want that heater replaced or repaired, why would they not send the correct people to do the job in the first place? And why not avail themselves of the local plumbing distributor right in the area, not to mention Lowes and Home Depot, and pick one up before arriving?

So, they arrive, they look at the baseboard unit. Essentially, they said, ""yep, it's leaking."" ""That will be $125.00, please."" Do they not understand the word ""emergency""? Why not bring a new unit with you and be prepared to replace the old unit on that visit? We gave them all the info they needed to bring a baseboard 8 ft. run with them. But, no, if they have to come out again, they get to charge for the second, third, etc. visit. Then I called them and was on hold. They had a tape playing and my ears perked up at the statement, ""never a diagnostic charge"". When I questioned the woman who came on line, she said ""that's if you have a maintenance agreement"". Now, I never heard ""maintenance agreement"" on the recording. Maybe it is there and I missed it, but it really made me wonder...

Now I have to wait for an estimate. Emergency!!!!!!! Estimate comes. $285.00 for a new baseboard unit I can buy at a box store for $126.00. (God bless the internet, consumers are not as ignorant as they once were, before info was at their fingertips.) Hydronic Leak Repair Level 3 - Isolate & Repair Major Leak - Includes Leak Repair, Boiler Drain Down & Refill, System Safety Check, Labor & 1 Year Worry Free Warranty. 854.00. Now, ""fix"" leak? They are replacing the whole unit. Isolate - easy to do just look at the damaged hardwood floor. We know how to drain and refill our system, we could have done that while they were buying the replacement unit.

I could go on but I think this presents the picture adequately. Needless to say, I will NOT be using them at all. That 125.00 to tell me, yep, it is leaking was the first and last straw. Never mind that this EMERGENCY has to wait until the part is ordered, received, and the correct crew can be rounded up to actually do the work. If there were minus stars, I would have used that rating system.

Stay Away !!!
Installed my Mitsubishi Split System that worked for 1 season only. I Spent almost 10,000.
Adding insult to injury they charge 79.00 which they waived to send a tech out to tell me what I already knew a leak in the system?
They then want to change me 500.00 to find the leak.
Then charge me to fix the leak at what cost??????????????????
Learn from my costly mistake RUN I have had no Heat or Ac since season 1. WTF

Used them for years. Should have went to someone else long ago. First of all most times they came to service my system I would have to have a second person come out the next day to fix something the first person did wrong. Very annoying. some of the tech are great, others not so good.
Last issue was tech came out for a spring service. Thought found a leak and called field supervisor out to verify. Both say yes with out doing a dye leak test. Field supervisor says will get quote for parts or a new system. Weeks go by and we call. Always say he is busy. Now no notes of any problems on my account. Almost a year later and nothing. If tech made a mistake then just own up to it. Don't just ghost your customer and then want $$ for service after that time.

Very expensive!! Two trips per service call to get it right. Disconnected heat and left it. Had to call to have someone reconnect the system when cold weather started. No heat for two days.

The technician that was sent advised a a replacement furnace but living on social security would only be afforded to repair an older mobile home unit.
Parts were ordered but supposedly came in damaged.
So they took my money and never did the repairs
There's more to the story but there's a limit to the characters...

Been using R.J.Groner for many years now. Tried others when we first moved here 20+years ago and lots of problems. Groner replaced our oil burning furnace several years ago and both of our air units. I've recommended them when anyone asks who I use. I also opt for the maintenance agreement with them. Very responsive whenever we had any issues. Technicians are great and personable. My only suggestion for improvement is Groner should reach out (not the customer) to schedule maintenance appointments earlier and keep them. Every year I have to wait 2-3 times to reschedule because they have emergency calls that take precedence. Especially in the fall. I understand this, but at the same time, each appointment gets pushed out a few more weeks. Early fall is ideal, not the last day of November.
