As the owner of Rivers Plumbing, Heating & Air, I take pride in our legacy. Our family-owned business has been serving the community since 1979. With 35 years of hands-on plumbing experience, I am registered with the California State License Board.
I was the President of the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors (PHCC) for California during 2005-2006. I also served as the Local President for Contra Costa & Alameda Counties from 2005-2007 and 2007-2009. I was honored to serve as the PHCC National Association President during 2013-2014.

Outstanding work from start ( office person ) to finish with the tech. Family owned and operated

We called this company to help us with a smell from our drain. The owner came out - smelling like an old cigarette - the first thing he says is that he smokes and can't smell a thing - then why come out!! He gave a few ideas like change the mat - ummm no mat. It was an awful experience. He gave us a bill and charged us for $90. I would never have them out again!

Top service!!! About 1 pm our ancient water heater broke. At about 3 pm after doing some research I called Rivers. By 10 am the next morning Steve Rivers was at our door despite the rain with a new water heater to install. Plus he updated the gas valve. Thanks to Steve Rivers we were without hot water for less than 24 hours. He is caring, honest, experienced and knowledgeable. We will be calling him again for future plumbing issues.

Our water heater started leaking, called Rivers Plumbing right away.
They had a cancellation that day, Steve and his helper picked up a new one and installed it that same day. It was a clean and fast install, Steve explained everything to us when he was done. Very happy we called Rivers Plumbing.

Long time plumber and HVAC service. Steve is a great professional. Very smart and very friendly and a lot of integrity. We've had Steve work on big and small projects and it's always been on-time and on-budget. Very easy to communicate with and can break down the most complicated situation's and if something's easily digestible.

I call Mr. Rivers for fixing my pipes is leaking so bad, and He came right away, I give a 5 star for doing a great job, I recommend whoever will read my review is a top notch on his service and dedication to his work.

We contacted Rivers when our A/C didn't work during the June 2021 heatwave. The owner himself came to our house and determined that the control wire from the thermostat to the condenser had been chewed through by some sort of vermin. He rigged up a temporary connection in the house to get us through the heatwave. He returned later with another technician to run the wire beneath the house.
He was prompt and professional. His office contacted us when he was running behind schedule, and he arrived as promised. Definitely will use him again in the future.

Rivers. Actually care. My landlord was okay with my kids and i freezing with a broken heater. My landlord told me to wait. I couldnt wait. It was 30 degrees at night. I called rivers and they brought heat to my home. My experience was wonderful. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for the kind letter and gift they gave my children. It ment the world to us. There is good people in this world and rivers are some of those people. I wish everything would break in my home again just so rivers could grace us with knowledge and good conversation again. Excellent work keep it up.

""New World Record: 5 Minutes to Unclog Toilet!""
I always find it interesting to see how fast a plumber can fix problems. This was a typical drain stoppage, but I could not fix it, so I had to call in the professionals. I have used Rivers countless times, always with excellent results.
No, they are not cheap, but if you want the best you're going to have to pay the going rate. In all the years I've used their services, they have not made a mistake even once.
I called for an appointment, and Ann arranged for same-day service. A pleasant young man, Ryan, arrived on-time, and I showed him to the area. I covertly retrieved my stopwatch and prepared to begin the countdown. I was tempted to hide
the plumber's tools, but that would have been unsportsmanlike.
As Ryan toed the starting line, I realized that we were in the presence of a elite tradesman.
""Okay, start the timer!"" I whispered to my wife. Of course, we did not want to put any pressure on young Ryan, so we did not divulge that he was being timed.
My wife and I estimated that Ryan would have our toilet unclogged in 15 minutes. But guess what? He did it in 4 minutes flat! A new world record!
As I wrote out the check, I couldn't help wondering if I had gone into the wrong occupation. On the other hand, I was proud to be part of plumbing history.

Another awesome experience with Steve Rivers. Steve and his crew have helped us with many issues with our home, rental properties and client's homes. Our tenant texted us on Wednesday saying that the AC had quit working and Steve made time to take a look at it the same day. 3 days later (on a Saturday) he was able to replace the A/C unit for us and was able to do so without having to replace the existing furnace, despite it being an older mid-90's unit, thus saving us $5K.
