My four stars are for the OLD Jim's Pasadena Plumbing staff. After having a nightmare experience with the new owners - (Ritz, yuck!), I called Ken Hardback, a former Jim's employee, who has started Ken's Pasadena Plumbing at 626-510-6334. Ken is great and gets 5 stars from me. Don't be fooled by Ritz but call Jim's former employees like Ken. He is knowledgeable, fair, and honest. You can trust him, unlike the scam artists at Ritz.

this company is the worst they took advantage of my 80 year old mother, she called because her dishwasher was draining into the sink. They told her there was no cleanout and charged her 2200 to install one, of coarse there was already one there. beware of these people. I would write more but I am so mad at these people i cant think straight. KARMA will repay them

This is NO LONGER JIM'S PASADENA PLUMBING! BUYER BEWARE! They don't tell you this when you call, but these guys bought Jim's business and NONE OF HIS EMPLOYEES STILL WORK THERE. Their minimum service charge is $120 (I think Jim's was $95 or so) and they sent TWO TRUCKS to my house to repair a TOILET. They wanted $225 to repair the toilet, but said that the real problem was that my water pressure was putting undue stress on the toilet, and repairing that would be a much bigger deal indeed -- but they tried to talk me into that, too. Very shady.

Jim's Plumbing installed copper pipes in our house back in 2013 and we were very happy with the service & price. Sadly, Jim retired & sold the business but based on the recent reviews here, the new outfit isn't so good. Call Ken's Pasadena Plumbing instead. A former employee of Jim's, he claims to take care of customers like Jim would. We haven't used him yet but I plan to! (626) 510-6334

Obviously, as reading other reviews, Jim's has been sold to a bunch of crooks called Ritz Plmbing. I used Jim's for years & was always dealt with fairly, quickly & they sent an invoice. We replace granite countertop last week & needed fixtures re-installed & disposal hooked up, so naturally, I called Jim's. As is Ritz's custom, they come right out. A job that Jim's would have charged me $200 for ended up costing $495. And on top if that, no invoicing! I had to use credit card, as I didn't have that kind if dough sitting around. Now, 2 weeks later the black pipe from disposal to drain has simply FALLEN OFF! I called Jim-Ritz & got an appointment for the next day (strange how the can come right away when they sense $$, but you need a next day appointment for warranty work!). I waited around from the appointed 8-10 AM, after rearranging my schedule. At 10:20 AM, no plumber, so I called. After 10 minutes of run-around, I was told the ""tech"" can't come till tomorrow. I blew my stack & said forget it...it's a 5 minute job that a real plumber could fix & wouldn't charge an arm & a leg for. When they sense it's a new JB....Johnny on the spot...when it's to fix something they butched up....all bets are off!!

PRO TIP! The 2 guys that used to work for Jim's, Mario & Juan, broke off on their own once they saw how Ritz-Jim's did business. They are the same plumbers who used to do such a good honest job when they were under the original Jim's! Call them at 626) 993-4474 or 626) 786-6050 first. If you need a colon cleansing or enjoy getting screwed without being kissed first, call Ritz-Jim's!!!

Sad to say I have the same issue as others now that Jim's has been sold to Ritz. After many good years of fair prices and honest repairs, today I got gouged on a simple mainline cleanout. Ironically, if you read my original review for Jim's the new outfit pulled the exact same stunt ($3k replace the whole line) as what first drove me to call Jim's for a second opinion. If you head over to the Ritz page there is a review which could be word for word what they told me today. Thanks but no thanks ""Jim's"" or Ritz...whatever. Look elsewhere is all I can say at this point.

Gougers!!! $15k to reline old pipes when it should only cost about $8k (I found out later from a plumber friend of mine). I fell for it in an emergency situation and paid $15k to an invoice from Ritz. Their pricing is not fair and they took advantage of a vulnerable situation. Go to Pasadena Plumbers Plumbing and read my full story.

Jim has sold his business. After 16 years, I have to find a new local Pasadena Plumber. I quizzed the gal who answered the phone about who she was. I asked about Jim and she said he sold the business. I knew when I heard other voices in the background that it was a call center and no longer a local operation. So Sad

Jim's was wonderful, but the business has been sold. The new owners did not identify themselves as new owners- very deceptive. I asked their plumber about the different name on his truck and he told me that the same person owned the business. LIE. I was given a hustle and told that I would have to pay $10,000 for work on my sewer line. I have since called several other companies who on average say the work should cost approximately $5,000 and may not be needed at all. This is no longer a local Pasadena business.

I used Jim's Pasadena Plumbing for years (decades in fact). Looks like they have been sold - and the new owners don't seem to know what they are doing and they will rip you off as well. $350 to replace a bathroom faucet that I provided!!!! Jim's would have charged at least 1/3 that and done a fast, great job. I wish I had know in advance that Jim had sold - I'm really sorry to see that Jim's has changed hands for the worse. I'm another long time good customers the new management has lost. I'm very, very unhappy with this new ownership (Ritz??). I've deleted them from my phone list and will never use them again.
