RUN AWAY! SCAMMERS & RIP OFF ARTISTS! DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY CHARGE EXORBITANTLY HIGH PRICES! THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR COUPONS! DO NOT BELIEVE OR TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY OR STATE!
I have read numerous other reviews about this company and based upon my own personal experience agree that for the most part all the other negative reviews are unfortunately but substantially accurate!
Please note, they somehow have managed to have three (3) Yelp accounts. If you read thru their reviews you will find numerous negative reviews affirming that this company overcharged their customers with exorbitantly high prices (bordering on theft/highway robbery.) Their advertisement in the weekly paper flyers is absolutely false and they do not honor their coupons. They tried to rip me off with a BS story (see below) and when I insisted that I first wanted to take advantage of the FREE camera inspection coupon to identify what was the problem and where it was located they stated that their boss Abel advised them not to perform the work, and NOT to honor the coupon!
They wanted to perform a $450 power hydro wash to clean out the debris in the sewer line before providing the free camera inspection. If I would have allowed them to perform the work as they wanted, than the sewer pipe would have been completely clean and the only thing the camera inspection would accomplish would be to validate that they had cleaned out the sewer line. After they left, I telephoned their office and spoke with Abel, who claimed to be the owner. Able told me that the free camera inspection only comes with the purchase of the power wash and when I told him that it does not state that on the coupon, he stated that it was a typo and that they will have it corrected, but he still refused to honor the coupon. Please note that a photo of the advertisement may be seen above in the Yelp photo section. I highly recommend that you hire anybody other than Ritz Plumbing!
Previously gave 5-star review, but latest experience has them off my ""good guys"" list. Big company, and not sure which office sent the plumbers.
Earthquake safety valve for my home gas line tripped, and water heater shut down. I reset the safety valve and all appliances but the water heater worked. First response from Ritz got it going again - for a few minutes. After they left, nada. Next day, technician came, couldn't get it started at all. Suggested new heater might be in order. Total cost for non-repair: $120 for the 1st service call.
FORTUNATELY, a guest later the same day turned out to work for the Gas Company. He asked why I hadn't called them - $40 or free, depending. In 20 seconds he found and pressed the gas supply reset valve on the heater itself - not described in the manual and not the pilot/thermostat cluster - and all was well. So Ritz may know pipes, but doesn't know water heaters, except to sell them.
I woke up to a leaking hose under my kitchen sink -- and a flooded kitchen floor. Ritz had an opening three hours later, gave me a 2 hour window, came right in the middle of the window, replaced the leaking hose within 45 minutes and only charged me $49.50. It was a Saturday morning! They were polite, friendly and helpful. They even offered to help me clean up the pans I had put on the floor to catch the still-streaming water. Paul G was the plumber who came, and he had a younger guy with him who could not have been more helpful. Very happy with their service!
Henry arrived within the 2-hour time frame expected to replace our external pressure regulator. Through Henry, we discussed a good price with his company for the work to be done. He completed the work promptly and competently. Would definitely recommend this company.
They sent a unmarked truck with a hydrojetter (probably a subcontractor) who tried the storm drain line about 20 mins before giving up and wanting to charge me $350. I asked him to keep going and he refused. I said I wanted a different operator; so he left and his boss called me back. Instead of apologizing for the rudeness of his subcontractor, he said he's taking me off his computer system. I would never hire this company.
Teri A.Beware! Don't use Ritz plumbing..I was given an estimate of 2,800 dollars. It ended up costing me almost nine thousand.
They were at least two hours late every day.
They did a terrible job and are unreliable.
Navid Z.The worst company and worst experience I've ever had!!! They told me they will fix the backed up toilet for $450. Then they ran into additional problems!! So they decided to take the toilet off to run a camera for additional $400. Make a long strong short my bill ended up being $12,000 then after I told them I'll use another company to come by and fix it they brought their prices down to $7,000. I ended up paying the 7 grand but after had two other reliable companies came in and looked at the issue with had. They quoted me $1,500 for everything!!!!!! Total ripoff!!!!!! They are SCAMMERS!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!
Victor R.Henry and Gilbert came out to my property to fix a hose bib and gave me a very good price highly recommend this company
As one other reviewer has stated, if I could give Ritz Plumbing a zero I would. To be honest, if I could give them a negative number I would. I had to deal with Ritz Plumbing (RP) because my 87 year old mother had called them for an estimate to possibly do a gas pipe job at her home. My mother had called the gas company because she had smelled gas and was concerned that there was a leak. The gas company came and said that there may be a leak and then turned her gas off. With her gas now off and not able to use her stove and water heater, she called RP who came over and told her they could not find the leak and that a section of pipe under her house had to be replaced. My mother was kind of desperate and RP knew it because she had explained her situation to them. I had told her not to sign any paper work until we got other estimates to do the job. I should have been there when RP was talking to her but you can't always be every where all the time. While there, RP's tech Jose talks my mother into doing the job. They quote her a price of $9,900 to do the job!! As my mother explained to me, she told them that she did not have $9,900 to pay them. Jose explains to her that they can finance the job by letting her make payments through a credit card that they could open up for her. When I found out about it, I was pretty upset because I knew that the job could not have come close to what they were charging her. The job was straight forward. There was plenty of space to work. Half the job was under the basement the other half, under my mother's raised foundation house and it only took RP approx. half a day to complete the job. I made some phone calls to other licensed plumbers to get their quotes of the job. Both of them was through a friend of a friend. Both of them came out to look at the job and I was quoted by both of them with a price of approx $1,300 to $1,400 to do the same job. I called RP to talk to one of their managers. I was connected to Jason, who told me that he was the regional manager for RP. I explained the situation to him but was basically blown off. My mother was willing to pay RP the amount even though I explained to her that RP took advantage of her. Her reasoning was that she signed the agreement and there was nothing she could do about it. It was a lesson learned. As I looked through the paper work I also realized that the credit card that RP opened for her had a very high interest rate. Now, I'm even more upset that RP took advantage of her.
I then contacted the credit card company and the Better Business Bureau who then contacted RP on my behalf. They told me that RP was non responsive and that they could go no further with my complaint. I also got no cooperation from the credit card company. I then contacted the State Contractors Board (SCB). The SCB told me that there is really nothing they could do about the $9,900 price but they seem sympathetic about what happen to my mother. They asked me some questions about the job and whether RP bothered to pull a permit for the job. I said that no permit was pulled. I then called the city to establish if a permit was needed for the job and found out that there was a permit needed and that RP did not pull one. After relaying this back to the SCB, the agent there said she would look into the matter further. I was contacted by the SCB and told that this was not the first time that RP had not bothered to pull a permit for a job and that several other violations had possibly taken place such as employment of a non registered salesperson, violation of the home improvement contract subsections and licence name variation.
I was told that the SCB was going to contact RP and possibly take action against RP. This must have rattled RP because now they are calling my mother to try to resolve the matter after blowing us off. After a few meetings with RP and their managers including Jason, they said that they would be willing to reduce the price of the job. Their initial reduction was no where near the $1,300 to $1,400 price I had told them that the other plumbers had quoted me and that I would be pressing forward with my complaint to the SCB. I don't know what the penalty was going to be from the SCB towards RP but it must have been serious enough for them to reconsider my offer to pay them $1,400. In the end, RP contacted the credit card company and resolved the $9,900 charge and all the interest. I then forwarded a check for $1,400 to RP, payment in full.
On a final note, in looking up RP's reviews after dealing with them, I came across another complaint about them doing something similar to another elderly person. That, combined with the SCB willing to go after them for past violations and the empty beer bottles I discovered in my mother's basement after RP finished the job, I would NEVER do business with them again. I hope this review helps others before they decide to do business with RP.
DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!
I WISH I COULD GIVE Ritz Plumbing ZERO stars but Yelp dose NOT ALLOW ME TO so I am forced to give them one and I feel the do NOT deserve one.
They are bait and switch experts!!!!
I was quoted $120 to do a mainline sewer pipe rotor rooter.
Other plumbers were advertising that they could do it for $89-$100.
I went ahead and asked Ritz to come because I see their trucks a lot driving around town so I figured I would give them a chance.
I told the Ritz Plumbings operator who answered the phone to make sure to bring a snake that goes at least 120 feet.
Because I had a long mainline sewer pipe that's about 115 ft.
The operator at Ritz Plumbing tells me that this was no problem and they had this type of equipment on ALL THEIR TRUCKS (THIS WAS A BIG FAT LIE).
The lady operator who answered the phone and took my call assured me that a Ritz Plumber would arrive to my apartment building between noon and 3 PM.
The technician arrived after 3 PM and look just like a gang member.
The technician was EXTREMELY POLITE and MENSHLICH but he seem to me like he was a PROFESSIONAL BAIT AND SWITCH EXPERT.
he told me right away that my job is going to cost me at least $350.
When he said $350.00 all of a sudden this put a red flag into the job.
Thank G-d that I chose to say NO.
The Ritz Plumber technician that came with tattoos all over his body did not come in a plumbing truck at all he just came by himself I think he might've even been driving a pick up truck or a regular vehicle without equipment in it.
He just looked at the job for less than a minute and said $350.00.
Originally I was told by the dispatcher at Ritz plumbing that a plumber would come to the job between 1 and 3 PM.
So my feeling is that this company did not want to do a job for under $100 from the beginning no matter what.
From the beginning I think they wanted to charge me $350.
I believe that Ritz plumbing figured if they would come late I would be desperate to unstop our drain and just agreed to getting OVERCHARGED.
I didn't go for it only because I had called from another plumber before hand and he quoted me $89 but I told him that I had already hired Ritz plumbing because when I called him before Ritz plumbing I originally left a message on his machine because he did not answer. So when he returned my call I had already hired Ritz plumbing.
The other plumber told me if it didn't work out with Ritz and myself for any reason to please give him a call back which I did and he came over RIGHT AWAY and took care of business.
The other plumber who came to SAVE MY DAY and did the job for me ONLY CHARGED ME A TOTAL OF $89 as his advertised said that it would cost.
This other plumber kept his word and was HONEST WITH me and Ritz did not.
Do not use RITZ PLUMBING in my opinion they are a bunch of bait and switch experts!
The other Plumber, told me that he heard about Ritz plumbing from some of his other customers and now they call him to do plumbing instead of Ritz.
My new plumber says that he heard this happens often with Ritz plumbing.
Apparently Ritz Plumbing has a horrible reputation in the industry.
Now I'm finding out more because I have other friends who own apartment buildings as well and they said to me that they had bad luck when they called Ritz in the past
My new plumber says that he gets about 3 to 5 jobs from X Ritz unsatisfied customers ever month or two who have the same or a similar stories as I do.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS PLEASE DO NOT CALL RITZ PLUMBING SEE THE YELP REVIEWS FOR YOURSELF THEY HAVE WAY TOO MANY BAD REVIEWS!!!!!
Also PLEASE check the BBB on Ritz Plumbing and I believe I saw Ritz plumbing also has a really horrible rating as well with the BBB last time I checked.
HURRY AND PLEASE RUN AS FAR AWAY AND AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM RITZ PLUMBING!!!
BEWAIR, BEWAIR, BEWAIR AND RUN AWAY FROM RITZ AS FAST and AS FAR AWAY AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!!!
DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT BIG PROBLEMS )-:
