Since CJ sold the company it's gone to sh*t! Made an appointment yesterday for today and they just canceled. Didn't assign another plumber, just canceled. I told her I haven't had water for two days and she said someone could come next week. Great, now I have to scramble to find another plumber. DO NOT USE RITEWAY (should be wrongway)!

Things that are annoying:
1) When your 3rd party warranty company responds to an A/C service request and places you with a contractor who gets bad reviews.

Things that are even more annoying:
1) When you schedule an appointment at 5pm on a Tuesday, and confirm it with the company the day of.
2) ...and that contractor NEVER shows up or calls.
3) ....or answers their phone, so each time called goes to a machine.
3) .....then come to find their hours are from 8am-5pm.

In reading reviews about this place, I'm actually glad they didn't show up, as they clearly aren't professional, communicative, or know what they are doing. I immediately called the warranty company requesting another contractor, as this is unacceptable. Save your time and your money. It's not worth it.

Don't use Riteway - because it's clearly the WRONG WAY!

Hired Riteway for a furnace replacement and AC install. Our experience began with wonderful promises and a good price and ended with absolutely horrible customer service and an incomplete install. Choose another company, this one does not seem to care about retaining customers. We planned to hire them for plumbing work before they screwed us over. I have never written a bad review, but I can't let this one go.

The technician (Rod), now owner, gushed about the excellent service HE (not the company) would provide. We expressed concerns because there had not been an AC installed in our house for a very long time and he assured us that he would follow through to make sure everything was running perfectly. If it did not, he would make any adjustments necessary, big or small, at no charge. We were promised a 2 year service agreement from Rod (work on ac and furnace before seasons, etc) and the agreement was a line on our invoice.

The systems were installed in November. Rod had to return to install the AC's condensation pump and get it running on a warmer day. He assured us he would call to schedule this. There were not many warm days after the install, so we called in May to schedule the completion of the AC install. There was no record of our install, so we explained everything remaining to the woman in the office. Rod showed up with no idea that he had anything to do but recharge an AC. Therefore, he had to leave to get a part and assured us he would return that morning. We received a call from the office a few hours later that a part had to be ordered, but it was rushed and Rod could come back the next day. That day was too cold, so it wouldn't work.

Over the next two business days, I left several messages and did not hear from anyone. I finally called from a different number (they were obviously avoiding me) and was told the part would be in the that day and Rod would be out the next day. Rod did not show up and the technician that did thought he was only installing the pump, had no idea the AC was not ready to turn on. After Rod told him over the phone what to do, we turned on cool and felt the cold air coming out of the vents. Turns out, that was only the cold air circulating from the basement.

We had a few issues with the furnace and were told that Rod would call to come out about those since this guy thought he was only installing the pump. This was after I heard the technician on the phone with Rod telling him to breathe and calm down. Side note - we contacted Rod months earlier because we could not use our thermostat app since it was linked to his personal email (looks like he gave us his own thermostat). He never got back to us, so that was one issue. I also asked him about our simple furnace questions when he was here for the AC recharge, so he knew there were still a few little loose ends. This was not new information. I guess the list seemed overwhelming to him and he wanted us to go away. When

I called the office a few hours after the technician left because the temp inside went up 2 degrees and the unit wasn't on outside, I was told (after back and forth between office and Rod) it sounded like a Freon leak and they could only help me to a certain point. I asked to have Rod call me. I called again (Rod obviously wasn't going to call back) to see what my 2 year service agreement entitled me to and if it included completing this AC install. The woman in the office had no idea and there was no invoice or estimate on file, so I sent those over. I asked for confirmation via email of what the 2 year service agreement included.

After trying to ignore me again, Rod finally confirmed in writing he would not complete the work or honor the agreement since he was now the owner and it is his right to refuse service.

I had Riteway Plumbing and Heating install an electric water heater in my house in November 2017. The first water heater constantly tripped the breaker, indicating a wiring fault.
When they came to fix it, the guy spent a few hours trying to fix the wiring, finally deciding it was a faulty heater and replaced it with a new one.
After my electricity bill going SKY HIGH, I investigated the heater that was installed - ***it wasn't the model they promised they would install***, and actually had a worse efficiency rating than the one I was quoted on. I've asked Rod to look into it multiple times, and never hear back.
Now, tonight, the same water heater only provided enough hot water for a 15 minute shower, without ANY hot water being used in the house for the entire 4 hours prior. NOT happy, I've filed a BBB complaint, and I will never use this company again.

Terrible company with terrible values. The person they sent was inexperienced and broke our hot water then refused to fix it. They absolutely refused to leave the house in the condition that they found it. Poor judgment and poor business values. So sad to see a long standing company use such awful customer service traits. Do yourself a favor and do not use!!

Project: Install or Replace a Central Humidifier
I hired Riteway to install al Aprilaire 600 that I purchased on Amazon. The install went fine except that the technician never showed me the humidifier working. That should have been my first clue. Once it got colder the humidifier never worked. Called them back only to be told the solenoid valve was broken and to contact the manufacturer. No testing was done to arrive to this conclusion. When I spoke with Aprilaire they asked me if 24 volts had been applied to the valve which was never done so they told me to do that first. Well thanks to youTube i was able to find out the wiring was wrong and i had to redo it myself. Solenoid valve is fine, it opens when put on test mode now and air flows down the humidifier. In addition, instead of installing it to the cold or warm air supply it's just sucking air right out of the basement which none of the installers I viewed online did. Will not use this company again.

I had scheduled to have my swamp cooler replaced. I received a call the day before my appointment to verify everything was all set. IT WAS NOT! The technician that came to replace it was on my roof working for 2 hours before he told me that they did not have the unit, causing me to lose a day of work. He left and said he had to reschedule. On the day before the reschedule I received another phone call telling me that I was all set to have it installed again. On the day of the SECOND ATTEMPTED install I receive a call from the technician 3 hours before my scheduled appointment to tell me that they AGAIN DID NOT HAVE THE UNIT. Once again I missed another day of work. At this point I am FRUSTRATED AFTER MISSING WORK TWICE due to Riteway's total lack of communication. I called their office again to speak with the owner CJ. I was told he would contact me, which HE NEVER DID. I understand that parts may not be available, but their communication with me was abhorrent. I would have appreciated honesty in that my unit was not available and would have been very happy to wait until it was in stock before rescheduling the install. I WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

My family lives in a rural community and our home has baseboard heating (hot water). Our hot water heater is integrated into our boiler/heating system and is not your every-day run of the mill hot water heater that my husband would be able to easily replace at Lowe's or Home Depot. We found RiteWay on Home Advisor and they were prompt in their reply to our request, even though it was after business hours.

During our initial appointment CJ went through exactly how our system worked with me. He provided a comprehensive explanation without talking down to me or dismissing my questions as unimportant. He provided reasonable options for us and presented us with an extremely fair quote (less than half of what another company quoted). He was patient and didn't pressure us for a decision while we accumulated the funds for the repairs, then, when we called to schedule, his crew was out within a few days. During all this his CSR/Office Manager was fantastic. She was communicative and helpful every step of the way.

On the day of the repair his team arrived within the window of time that was provided and they completed the job quicker than anticipated. They were efficient, friendly and polite.

RiteWay Plumbing and Heating is a hidden gem in the Douglas/Elbert County area and they have our business for the long haul. They were honest and respectful of our situation and we really couldn't ask for more in a group of service professionals. I've already shared their information with others... and will continue to do so as they have earned not only our business, but our referrals as well.

We got some quotes from other plumbers, then came across RiteWay plumbing through Home Advisors. After reading all the great reviews, we hired CJ to install a new kitchen faucet. The first plumber I called quoted me $328 plus pressure to purchase the new faucet from him. CJ's quote was just $125 and he said we certainly could do better by buying our own faucet, which we did. We will absolutely ask him to come for any other plumbing issues and would not hesitate to recommend him. Impressive background, highly experienced, honest and just plain nice!!
