I would give 0 stars if I could. Our AHS warranty is partnered with them and every single experience was horrible. They were to fix a water heater at my home so I paid the $100 deductible. Scott was dispatch to come out. He was 3 HOURS LATE! Who is ever 3 hours late to anything?!? He relit the lamp and told me to contact the manufacturer warranty on the water heater. (Good advice I but I knew it was an old water heater...so thanks, I guess).
Cut to 2 weeks later, lamp goes out. I call them back to come fix it for real this time. They were 3 HOURS LATE AGAIN!!! What the hell?!? I called back to complain but obviously this business is a sham and AHS should work with someone who has better service than this (weak sauce for sure)! Tech came out, didn't fix the problem he found this time and said he would come back today with the new part. When I didn't hear from him, I called right away services and they didnt even have him on schedule to come?!? Nightmare experience at this point. So I scheduled for tomorrow...
Let's see how it goes. So far so BAD!

Be very careful in using this company. they are a disaster to deal with. I had American Home shield and had a plumbing leak. They sent out Rite away plumbing who their technician Jeff said it was a cracked toiled at the O ring and the toilet had to be replaced. He said he would file a report. He quit the next day and no report was filed. 3 weeks and over 8 phone calls later I could not get to speak to a supervisor to correct this and AHS refused to give me a credit for a new toilet. Rite a way would never correct their problem in not filing a report, would not let me speak to a supervisor and never returned my calls. They are a disaster to try and use. Allan M. Shanberg MD

I have AHS for my home warranty who works with Rite-a-Way (Plumbers, Inc) and they approved to replace my water heater. Rite-a-Way wanted to charge me $650 in additional materials and labor for modifications. I had 2 other licensed contractors review the work to be done and they both were $200 cheaper without know I was quoted the higher rate.
It's easier to go with AHS's vendors so I called and they agreed to let me use my own earthquake straps and not add a drip pan. They also offered a coupon online bringing it down to $440. I agreed but when they showed up the tech said he had to replace the straps and add the pan per code. Even though their office told me differently.
They wasted my time off and now I'm still without a water heater.
Brandon, the technician, was very nice and professional both times he came out which is the only reason they got 2 stars.

The absolute worse company to work with!! Do not let AHS send them to your house. You will waste hours of your life and the job will not get done. Customer service is terrible, the techs are useless, they don't answer their phones .... the list can go on and on!! I cannot believe AHS send such a company to their customers . I have put in a formal complaint to AHS customer relations department.

I was wary after reading the negative reviews here, but I had a great experience---was contacted quickly after filing a claim with American Home Shield and the plumber--Brandon--showed up the next day. He was on time, professional, knowledgeable at his trade, and quickly resolved the leaks and valve issues. Steve S., Rancho Mirage

The only reason that I gave 1 star is because you can't give 0 and post a review! We had to use this company since they work with American Home Warranty. Start with their inability to answer the phone - rang for 10 minutes only to get a message that call volume is too high and to call back. Next, they don't know how to schedule an appointment - 10am to 2pm really means 8:30am to ?... and you'll be lucky if the day is correct. Their work product - we had our water heater replaced, the result was no hot water in the master bath (no water from the hot faucet) and the install has wires exposed with no cover. That's a big zero for their review. Anyone who runs their business this way doesn't deserve to be in business. No respect for their customers's time and substandard sloppy work... don't waste your time with Rite-A-Way Services and if your warranty company uses them - tell your warranty company that you want another plumber.

Called my home warranty company, AHS and they sent RITE-A-WAY to fix the leak in my ceiling. The tech was nice enough but to me, seemed very obvious he wanted to get in, get out ASAP.
I gave him the run down of what was going on and instead of actually diagnosing the problem, he put a new wax ring on one of my toilets and considered it a fix. I even questioned him on why he wasn't wanting to verify that that particular toilet was the problem as there was no water around it, etc.
3 weeks later, same leak is back!
I called Rite-A-Way and they told me I had to call AHS back first before they would do the work (allegedly so I wouldn't have to repay my co-pay)
After being on hold for an hour with AHS, they told me that Rite-A-Way wasn't accepting anymore service calls!
This company won't even back up their own work!!! That is scary, unprofessional and a huge sign of how this company's work ethic is 0%.
Even if you have to go through AHS, request a different company!

For a 15 minute work, I have wasted 16 hours of my time (on top of the service fee) and still job not done..

This has to be the worst & most unreliable service - they were supposed to come on Saturday-at their request, & not only did they not show up, it's now Tuesday & I can't reach anyone at their number. The phone rings forever, but is never answered & there is no VM to leave a message. They are contracted with American Home Shield-- which is the absolute WORST home warranty to buy. I've been on the phone on hold over 2 hours! Just waiting to see if they ever pick up.... DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH EITHER OF THESE COMPANIES!!!!

Requested service through AHS on 12/26/17. Was told contractor would contact me within 24 hours. They never did. I called contractor (Rite Away in Riverside to make appointment. Appointment was made for 9am to 1pm on Saturday 12/30/17. No one showed up, nor gave a courtesy call. I tried calling Rite Away Office, got voicemail and transferred to a continuously ringing phone. I am now trying to cancel appointment with AHS. Problem has been taken care of.
