Terrible customer service. I was scheduled as first appointment today. I had my 89 yo neighbor come to my house at 8 am to let them in since I work by 10 am she called and said she hadn't seen or heard from them. When I called the office they said oh yeah they had bumped my appointment. Very poor care for their customer's time.

Quoted me $1700 to replace a $300 blower motor. Other companies said they would do it for $1000 and i even found a private licensed contractor who did it for $700.

On Monday, June 22, 2015, I received a phone call at 7:41 a.m. saying that Rinaldi's would no longer be able to keep my 8:00 a.m. maintenance appointment. This was just a maintenance appointment, the A.C was running fine. They rescheduled my appointment for between 9:00-11:00 that same day. The technician, Cindy, arrived to my house around 12:15 p.m. Not long after arriving, she showed me a wire from the A.C. She said she thought she fixed any issues. About 15-20 minutes later, she knocked on the door claiming we would need a new part. This increased the price to 179.00. About 45 minutes later, she knocked saying we needed a capacitor. The price was now I agreed, and she went to fix the air conditioner. Over two hours later, I went to check on the progress. She was in her van writing me a quote for a new A.C unit for over $9,000.00. In one day's time, the A.C went from working, to being in need of replacing for $9000.00. When we called the company, we were given very poor excuses for the problems.

They quoted a price that was high to begin with. My elderly In-Laws went along since Rinaldi's installed their previous over priced system. Once they completely tore the old system out there was a problem. They said the previous installation wasn't up to code despite the fact they installed it. Then the quoted price went out the door with the old system. The price more than doubled for the new AC system. I call it elderly abuse to the tune of $20,000 for an ac unit in a 2500 sq, ft house. It also took them 9 days to get the new system in and at least cooling, that doesn't include the broken water pipes and damaged breaker box. The duct work and new returns they want to put in still aren't done. They also have a habit of leaving for the day and not even closing the doors.

My wife and I bought this house 6.5 years ago so we could be closer to the grand baby. One of the reasons we bought it was that it was a 1 owner home and nearly everything had been updated by the last owner. The A/C was brand new and Rinaldi's was the company to install the unit. After 6 years I decided it was time to have the system checked out even though everything was running fine so I called Rinaldi and they told me all about their service plan that they offered. They check the system twice a year and offer a reduced rate on parts and labor. The price seemed reasonable so I opted to take the plan. In hindsight, I probably should have shopped around... Yesterday the A/C stopped working but I had not noticed it until late in the day. I called Rinaldi and spoke to someone after hours and they assured me they would have someone there between 9 and 11 am. True to their word a tech arrived at 10:45 am. He was here 5 minutes and let me know the capacitor on the compressor went bad. The the parts were under warranty but the diagnostic charge and Labor came to $170. I paid it because I wanted the A/C repaired but since I had a service contract, that seemed a bit high to me. I got the part number and after the tech left I went online and looked up the cost of the part. At the MFR's website, the part would have cost $30. The technician told me that part would have cost me over $200 if I did not have a 10 year warranty on parts. OK, that right there set off a warning bell in my head so I called the office to confirm exactly what I was charged for and how much the charges broke down to. I was given a detailed explanation but figured I would shop around because I felt like I was taken for a ride. I IMMEDIATELY called 4 of their competitors after looking up what others had to say about them on Yelp and asked what it would cost to have the same work done. WITHOUT a service contract in place ALL of them would have been cheaper than what I was charged WITH a contract in place. On top of that, ALL of them offered the same service contract for less than I paid. I will likely have them perform the second check when it is close to winter but I am pretty sure I will NOT be renewing my service contract with them. The ONLY reason they get 2 stars is because they showed up on time and quickly resolved the issue BUT I can't overlook that their rates are WAY OUT OF LINE! UPDATE: It has been over 4 hours and the house is still not getting down to temperature and it have NEVER taken this long to cool down in all the time we have lived here SO... I called the office, spoke to the service manager and after he tried to just use a bunch of fancy double talk to explain away the unusually long time it is taking to cool back down, I will NEVER do business with them EVER AGAIN and would not recommend them to anybody at this point. They have NOW earned ONE STAR because NOW I will just have to call someone else... THANKS RINALDI *in a sarcastic tone* Do yourself a favor and just call someone else because I would hate to see someone else go through this... FINAL UPDATE: I have contacted my credit card company and they recommended I have another company come and check the unit. If they find that the Rinaldi service technician overlooked something, they will credit my account for the fees I was charged. I have already contacted another company that was referred by two of my clients and a service technician is on the way. This is not about beating a charge but simply getting my A/C fixed properly. Nothing annoys me more than a service manager that tries to tech talk his way out of their service technician not checking everything out A to Z before leaving the site. I have always said... Anybody can sell you a widget but not everybody stands behind their widgets as they should... *sigh* FINAL FINAL UPDATE: To have another company come out was worth it's weight in gold... Not only did they not charge me BUT it was a simple fix. There was a lot of buildup on the evaporator coil. A hose and about 10 minutes of cleaning seems to have solved the problem. Had Rinaldi's tech taken an additional 10 minutes to clean the evaporator coil, the system would not have been running all afternoon. Speaking of... The system just kicked off and it now reads 75 like it usually does. Maybe the service manager with is 20+ years of experience should have asked me to check that on the phone instead of trying to talk down to me with his """"Tech Talk"""" and I would have given them a better rating in spite of their high rates. RESPONSE TO VENDOR COMMENT: The inside temperature of the house never exceeded 90 degrees Fahrenheit so I am not sure where you came up with the 96 degrees when I called. If you are going to respond, be accurate in your responses. Had the tech just cleaned the evaporator coil before leaving, this would have been a positive review instead of a negative one. What exactly DOES your service contract cover? NADA!

Our AC went out on the 4th of July, by the time I did some basic diagnostics to make sure it wasn't a small issue, it was around 1:30 PM. I called Rinaldi's after checking some reviews. They only charged an extra $20 for same day service ON THE 4th, which I thought was amazing, and they said they would be there between 5-7 pm. Rick showed up around 4:30 pm, did the diagnostics, knew right away the run capacitor was bad. He replaced the Chinese capacitor with a capacitor Made in USA, did a full check of the system, and was done by 5:15. Absolutely amazing response from Rinaldi's on a big holiday was so impressive. Thank you so much.

Save your money and also save yourself the trouble of dealing with the unprofessional """"sales manager"""" at the office. It starts with a manager that wants to go into a yelling match over their tech not showing up and him explaining what he thought the client should've known even though they are the ac experts and that's why an appointment was made. So basically we would've found out on the day of the job of other charges and items we had to pay for because explaining this after multiple calls and making an appointment to find this out was a fail. A manager took it upon himself to yell at us on the phone while the entire staff at our company listened in disbelief. He only wanted to speak to the """"male"""" on the phone or a """"man"""" who could understand. We, unfortunately, ended up listening to this crap for about 10 minutes before he told them """"they did not deserve their discounted price"""" or service. He never apologized for making us wait for an hour on the other side of town for tech that he said: """"did not need to come over to explain this"""" but, his company made the appointment when we called them. What service or discounted price? These folks were pricier than everyone else in Orlando.

I'll second Steve's review. I had them go out to my rental property after the AC wasn't cooling. While they were there, they told my tenants that the system was in bad shape and could have mold issues. It ultimately cause my tenants to not renew their lease and hurt me financially. Then Rinaldi's told me it would cost around four grand for a new system. I trusted them and said let's do it and they said they would be there the next week. I called next week after not hearing from them and the receptionist said that they needed to go out there to see what parts needed to be ordered. How can you quote me that much for a system and not even know what parts are needed? So she tells me they'll be there NEXT week so I wait another whole week and call back. Then the receptionist says whoopsie, we didn't actually need to go back to see the parts, we think we know what we need - so she/they essentially wasted two weeks of my time (this whole time it's hot in the house by the way - in summer in Florida). Finally the third week comes and I call because they haven't bothered to communicate yet and she tells me she forgot to schedule me and so I'm getting bumped to yet ANOTHER following week at which point I asked to speak to a manager. She puts me on the phone with Tim (who, by the way did not identify himself as the owner). I explain to him that I'm waiting a month now because they keep making mistakes and he basically told me that he didn't need my business and hung up the phone. Do yourself a favor and go with anyone else - there are hundreds of HVAC companies in Florida. Also I've seen Tim's replies to these reviews - it's like he's not even trying.

Technicians were sitting in their vans for as long as I was walking toward them, and suddenly started driving right as I crossed the street in front of them, then yelled at me for it. ???
