We have used Riley Plumbing & Heating for over 5 years now for both emergencies and small repairs and they have always been amazing. The technicians are friendly and knowledgeable and their prices are always fair. Highly recommend.

I am a widow raising 3 kids all alone. In 2015 I had some financial issues due to my situation. Four years later I'm back on my feet and I called Rileys for a problem for the first time in 4 years. They said they couldn't send someone for 4 days. The morning of my appointment the owner Scott Riley called me and canceled saying it was because of my past financial issues. Then he hung up on me. If you want to hire a plumber, call ANYONE but not this lousy mean and unhelpful company.

I had an emergency situation in which a hot water heater needed to be replaced due to a sump pump failure.

To make matters more complicated, the house belonged to an elderly relative living forty miles away.

I took a huge chance and randomly contacted Riley Plumbing & Heating.

I am so glad that I did! The OWNER of the company came out! He was very professional and attentive.

They might be considered ""expensive"" but it was totally worth it! They took care of EVERYTHING!

When my old water heater died, Scott Riley came out and explained my options, gave me a good price on a commercial-grade replacement, and did an immaculate installation. He even replaced some old pipe fittings for free, and explained some of the ins and outs of modern water heater technology. The best part: his total price or $1700 was exactly the same as the estimate from a much less experienced installer for a much lower quality water heater. Scott is a very intelligent and experienced professional.

First of all I have never written a review before but I just have to in this case. I had hired Riley plumbing to do a washer dryer re-locate and it went fine. Since they discovered more issues with my plumbing along the way the bill grew to more than $3,000 dollars. Had to replace some old leaky cast iron. Anyway they threw in a preferred customer status worth $100 per year. So fast forward I was installing a sink in the kitchen of an apartment we are renovating. We live in a three family that we own. It was simply sweating two valves on stubs coming up through the sink base cabinet. Simple job. Not so much when one of your shut off valves doesn't work so getting spray as I'm cutting the caps of the stubs. long story short had to shut the main off leaving us and my tenants without water. More trouble can't get my torch lit using a new bottle of propane from home depot, huh? Anyway now it's nine o'clock and I'm determined to get water back for Sunday morning routines. I bite the bullet and call Riley. after all I am now a preferred customer. Carmella tells me that it will be a $99 charge. I agree realizing it will grow from there. But its just two joints to solder and I have all the parts literally a 15 minute job. It could even be just the one joint that is leaking. So George shows up and looks at the situation and I explain I hated to call but I had tenants that expected water in the morning. He says I'm not going to like the price and works up the bill. He hands me the estimate and I went speechless. You know the feeling when you are trying to talk to a pretty girl. $660.00 I exclaimed WHAT???
He said that's what the computer told him. No negotiating no trouble shooting to see if he could maybe just cap one so we could all have water. $660 or nothing. I told him to take a hike so he rang up the $99 on my credit card and left. I went to Home depot 8:00 next morning and bought two Shark Bite fittings for $20. Problem solved. For all you home owners out there look into shark bites. They work great and require no crooked plumbers.
PS. I love that Riley's slogan is How can we make you smile today. What a joke!!!
PSS. I did call Monday morning and left a message with Scott the owner and never got a call back.

After being blown off at their first appt. they showed for the second. Owner gave me a $1400 quote to install a shower hot/cold fixture. I asked him to explain why so much and what work he'd have to perform his exact words were ""it would take me 3 lunch breaks to explain it"" HUGH RED FLAG I told him I'll go else where. The issue wasn't the price it was why he wouldn't explain it. Two thumbs down

Riley plumbing came out Monday after CNG red flagged us for the gas smell I smelled on Sunday. Riley's quote $946 do the work plus they recommended a brand new boiler ASAP with prices ranging $8-11k over something that could be fixed on our unit. Next day I called CNG back. $426 HALF the Riley quote. CNG said your unit is old but in top shape no need for new. Our service guy said get a service contract with CNG the Utica boiler we have is better than the high priced wall mount Riley pushes and you will never see the return on your investment. He said Riley & Aiello = 2 biggest ripoff artists around! DO NOT EVER USE THESE COMPANIES!!!

Based on most recent experience with Riley Plumbing I feel the need to share my thoughts on this company. I had used them once a few years ago when I had a plumbing emergency and they came out extremely fast. The plumber Jay was very professional and issue was resolved. Overall, a pleasant experience. Although the bill was much higher than I expected for that experience, I chalked it up to them coming right out and solving the issue immediately. Fast forward a few years. We decided to replace our electric hot water heater and called Riley. Jay came back out and after looking at our current model he suggested upgrading to larger 80 gallon hybrid model. The quote for the hot water heater plus labor came to $3,828. My jaw almost hit the ground as anyone with an internet connection can do a quick google search and find that the exact same model sells for around $1900. As the hot water heater wasn't broken, I decided to hold off a while. Recently, running out of hot water halfway through the 2nd shower became such a hassle that I finally decided to bite the bullet and replace it. Although I knew Riley Plumbing's price was higher, I figured I would give them a call and try to discuss how they were getting to that number and do some negotiation. I'm someone that doesn't mind paying a slightly higher price for good service and peace of mind so I figured I would give them another shot. Boy was I ever wrong. Not only do they not negotiate, the woman I spoke with explained the price had actually gone up to $4012 for the 80 gallon hybrid installed. When I asked what the labor rate was and how long it typically takes to install a water heater, I was told they go by a book that tells them what to charge. Unreal that a small business uses a corporate pricing book as opposed to common sense on how to arrive at a fair price. My next call was to Plimpton Hills. The gentleman I spoke with gave me a price of $1900 for the heater and also referred me to a few local licensed plumbers in the area. Here's what happened. The plumber I spoke with, Wes Cyr, Cry Plumbing said he could do the job within a day. He also shared that the water heater had a $400 rebate that he would pass on. He also quoted a labor rate of $75 per hour. End result is it was installed last night....total bill $1895 and his warranty on the labor is exactly the same as Riley Plumbing. If Riley Plumbing's price would have been 10,20 30 or even 40% higher than what I paid I would not be writing this review. I'm a capitalist and my feeling is something is worth what someone is willing to pay. However, as their price was over double the price I ended up paying, 115% higher to be exact, I felt the need to share this experience to hopefully prevent someone in the future from being totally ripped off by this company. I almost want to go buy something nice for myself today for the $2200 I saved by making a few calls. Be smart, do research and don't let this company separate you from your hard earned money!

Called from Ca. for a quote on winterizing a vacant home. Very nice lady named Sara answered the phone and promised to call back with a quote. Three days later nothing so I called again. Sara gave me to Tony, (note previous ratings re Tony), he proceeded to tell my how difficult this was and how he may have to cut the lines for some type of a gauge and low lying water remaining in the lines that still may cause freezing. So I was already on point as to his evasive answers. I finally got a quote out of him for a range of $700-$1500. Thinking this seemed high for such a procedure I did some calling around. RandR in Manchester (860-649-6574) quoted me $300 with no hesitation. Beware everyone, especially any out of state owner.
