When we installed our AC unit years ago, the installation came with a life time maintenance service that RightTime eventually took over. They always call to set up appointments for our maintenance and usually arrive on time. They check our AC, furnace and water heater. It's free so I didn't mind...at first . Then I started noticing how shady they are!

Every. Single. Time. a guy comes out they try and tell us something is wrong with whatever unit they're checking. And of course its an absurd amount to fix it.

They came out for the AC unit mainatance and tried to tell me it needed repairs. It was a 16 thousand dollar unit that was a year old. I call bs!

They came out to unclog our toilet and didn't remove the toilet and put the sewer snake in through the toilet. Seriously. Even I know to remove the toilet. They damaged our toilet. We just rent our own snake now.

Then, they came out to fix a simple main line clog and tried to say we needed a brand new main line system that would cost 15 thousand and tried to pressure us to sign for the job that evening by saying if we did they'd give us the work they did uncloging our line that night for free. I told them to get the eff out! I hate that bullshit.

Another time, a guy came out to do maintenence on our water heater and purposefully broke the knob off our brand new water heater and tried to say it was rusted off but he could repair it for hundreds of dollars because it was a rare part. It's bad enough he broke it, but we found the part at home depot for 4 dollars.

This company are Scammers!!!!!!! They break things to scam you to think you need their services. For a long time I let them keep coming out for the free mainatance since it seemed harmless as long as I stayed firm we didn't want any products or services from them but knowing they actually break your shit so you need them to fix it, I don't want these scam artists anywhere near my house!!!

I wish I could give this company less than one star because they truly deserve it. We unfortunately signed up for their membership services which has their technicians coming to our home throughout the year to check electrical, heating, AC and plumbing. This is suppose to be for maintenance purposes. They came out the first time to check our water heater and performed maintenance on it. The technician found the rod needed replacing so we had it replaced however, prior to doing this a supervisor was called to our home and he tried to sell us a new water heater for $3500! Ridiculous!! I had to argue with him in order to have them just replace the rod. Then last week, another technician came out to check our furnace which has been running fine. He ended up taking it all apart and then shows us a supposed crack in the heat exchange unit. He calls his supervisor to come out and confirm the crack which , of course, he did confirm. We honestly saw no such crack. He then tells us if we were to just replace the heat exchange unit it would cost $2600 but he recommended we buy an entirely new furnace since our was 11 years old. He also told us we should get a new coil. The grand total for this Amana unit was $8900! No way! He then quoted us prices for less expensive units for $7200! We had to end this "" hard sale"" conversation which took hours because we had an appointment. They were to come back tomorrow to put our furnace back together since we did not want to buy a new furnace. The next day they tell us they took the heat exchanger with them last night because they thought we were going to get a new furnace from them. They now could not find it! At this point we were so frustrated with them we ended our conversation and ended up calling another company to install the same Amana furnace for a cost of $2000.

We will never use this company again and urge you not to either. They are scam artists. We highly recommend Mark's AC Service to you. They installed our new furnace and we will definitely call them when we need a new AC unit.

FRAUDS. The salesman (Thomas) was very nice while lying to our faces about SCE REBATES. He told us about the Bible studies they have at work and then lied to us with the next breath!
The whole reason I called Costco (who sent Rightime out) was the SCE REBATES I was interested in.
I made it clear to Thomas I was interested in the SCE REBATE. HE TOLD US: no problem, just go and get the numbers off unit after we install and go to SCE online and apply. That's a little too late!
HE FAILED TO TELL US THAT WE HAD TO USE SCE's APPROVED CONTRACTOR PROGRAM (WHICH RIGHTIME RESIGNED FROM 5 years ago, as we found out later when we talked to Daniel the supervisor who refused to resolve issue).
WE THOUGHT WE WERE GETTING UP TO $1,300 in SCE REBATES WHEN WE SIGNED THEIR PAPERS! We got none of it.
We refuse to be silent about this. Up date to follow.
Reply to Rightime: yes there was miscommunication if that is what you call lying to make a sale. We trusted you and waited to apply for SCE REBATE after your install as you instructed. Too late then, as you knew!

Really bad experience. Offered me an air scrubber for my incomplete AC. (they sold me) the tech got the manager on the phone and used the same game they used to sell my system. Asking me if I was a member or senior to get a discount. Then used an effiency discount to take an extra discount, went from 1800 to 1275 because of the discount. In April 2012 , I Fell for that and bought an Amana System. ( actually goodman) Great Tech, just bad business practices. I wont use them. They need to change the managers game on the phone that he plays, your customers have all heard it.

My ac stopped working sometime mid afternoon this Saturday and I did not realize until close to the end of closing of most AC repair businesses, I was worried about calling a 24/7 service because I knew it would be pricier on a weekend...luckily I called the the Right place. RighTime Home Services has an efficient office staff person Tiffany, who upfront told me that it would either be this evening or in the am but she would see how other jobs were going, I appreciated that she didn't give me any false hopes about time frame. Within an hour she called and said that we would have some within 45 minutes and he did indeed get here before the 45 minutes. The technician Chip Harris walked into the house after putting on shoes covers to keep my floors clean (love it) and continued to do so every time he came back in to bring in parts etc. He had several tools to measure the efficiency of my ac and removed a dead mouse from the outdoor unit and removed the capacitor which turned up as the cause of the problem. Chip finished his worked quickly and efficiently with a total cost just above $200.00 with an online coupon from their website (for a weekend visit and parts). My son and I watched him remove the part, he explained every procedure and acceptable ranges of efficiencies of our system...totally impressed with this courteous young man and the company. Thanks, I will use and recommend their services again!

This company is a rip off!! Had them come out to service my AC, told me I had all kinds of problems! They replaced a run capacitor and charged me $99 for a $15 part. Insanely priced. Told me I need to replace my unit. They are a complete JOKE!!!!!

This company has it's good and bad aspects, but overall I'm happy.

I called them out for a replacement central HVAC. The sales guy didn't quite know what he was doing. He was on the phone a bit calling the office and never mentioned the air filter options. He didn't know anything about their water heater systems, but with some phone calls I found they were greatly over priced, so skipped that. (Still need to get a new water heater....)

The installers were great. Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I got the filter upgrade I wanted and negotiated a discounted price for my trouble. There was wall and access damage though (no surprise, the system is in the attic). The installers wrote up that the ""drywall guy"" needed to come out. It took a couple of weeks and two more phone calls to get that scheduled. Once scheduled, all went smooth from there.

I called back several weeks later to activate my ""comfort guarantee"", as there was a wide range of temperatures in my house. Again, it took two calls to get that scheduled. Again, the guy who came to my house to do the work was great.

Summary:
- The installers are great.
- The office staff is incompetent/disorganized.
- I got a good value on the system I purchased.

My wife and I purchased a Goodman heating/air system about 7 years ago from these guys. Last year, when they were still One Hour Heating and Cooling, we had a major problem... to tell you the truth, it seemed like one problem after another . I was tired of it. They sent out a manager and they offered to buy my system back as a ""Lemon"" for approximately $1200 since I had so many problems with it - but a new system was going to cost $12,000 plus if you included the duct work, air scrubbers, etc. They said my system was to small to begin with and it was overworked. I laughed and told them that they were the ones that had told me which size and brand to install over my desire to buy a bigger system. I was livid.

To which they replied, ""The owner has changed since then. The new owner bought this business a couple of years ago and it seems that some things were really screwed up."" I told them that I was sure the new owner bought the liabilities of the old company as well as the customer base. I was told that I was lucky. The lemon deal was the best I was going to get and I could use the HERO program to help pay for it.

Now the company has changed names again to RighTime Home Services. I wouldn't trust these guys to sell lemonade. (BTW, they also merged with Mister Sparky Electricians and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.)

Rightime really talks a good show. They do it all, great service, and pricing, etc. The reality is quite different. I called them to install a replacement faucet in the kitchen. I figured about an hour's work. What do plumbers make - $50-$90/hour? Upon arriving, he quoted me $332. After telling him to take a walk, they brought it down to $200. Still seemed outrageous but since he was there already I said to go ahead. He finished the job in a neat manner (in 1.25 hours - pretty good pay, eh?).
Two days later the faucet was loose - the whole unit turned when I turned the water on or off. I called to have them come out and fix it. They said he'd be here in the AM. At 11am I called to see where they were. The response was ""sorry, he'll be there sometime later today"". So, I'm still waiting for their ""wonderful service""!!!
