Our gas furnace was shutting off after only a short run. The indicator was flashing a trouble code that indicated a certain problem. The tech went began diagnosing for an overheating furnace. With a fiber optic camera he examined the heat exchanger, which appeared to be defective; I saw the image. Diagnosis: replace the heat exchanger or the furnace. Later that day Eli came by to discuss prices and options. Based on the age of the existing furnace and the brochure he had, it appeared that a new system was advisable. Fortunately we elected heat exchanger replacement and a new AC instead. Also included was correction of ductwork problems under the house for several hundred dollars. Which in fact didn't seem to take much time (?). Today the project manager called and said the original heat exchanger was in fact not defective and they were refunding the cost of installation of the new one. This is fine and they deserve credit for this action BUT the fact we came so close to spending thousands on a furnace we didn't really need is disturbing. Checking the internet will show there are several possible causes for short furnace runs such as we were experiencing. Perhaps there is too much reliance on fancy technology? Is the furnace now fixed???

I have nothing good to say about Right Now Heating and Air. I had them install fiberglass insulation in my crawl space, and immediately it started giving off a strong smell almost like burnt glue that is irritating my lungs to the point where it is hard to breathe. I did some looking online, and found out that the manufacturer of the insulation has had problems with some of their insulation giving off this kind of smell. I contacted Right Now Heating and Air (repeatedly) about this problem, and asked them to remove the insulation and give my my money back. They refused to refund my money. The only thing they are willing to do is to replace the insulation with more of the same kind. So my only choice is between them doing nothing, or them giving me more of the same possibly toxic insulation. They also use hardball sales tactics. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I'd never recommend them to anyone.

Update (November 4th):

They sent out a subcontractor who took out the defective insulation (or at least most of it). They also brought more of that same insulation, and once again, I said that I didn't want it installed. Later that same day, I got an email from Carly stating that since I had refused the replacement insulation they were going to send me a refund of $1,125, which is $568.80 less than I originally paid them. I emailed Carly back and asked for a full refund of $1693.80. She didn't reply, and the next day a check came in the mail for the lesser amount. I'm still waiting for them to refund the remaining $568.80. I'm also waiting for the fumes to clear out of my house.

I've had a house full of noxious fumes for ten days now, and have had to keep the windows open (in late October/early November). If the fumes don't clear out of the house soon, I'm going to have to hire someone to come and check whether all of the defective insulation was, in fact, removed from my crawl space.

One of the worst Home experiences I have ever had. Had them install two ductless air units upstairs. We thought everything was fine until major water leak in garage (through drywall) three weeks later. Drain pipe to unit not hooked up. Repair technician said "" it will dry it is 140 degrees up there!"" when I asked about mold. Could not come back and check for three weeks. By then there was mold growing in the attic drywall. They tried to replace drywall section and made a huge mess. After a different team and about 5 service calsl that was about done. The night before last touch up to garage we had a major leak from second unit(PVC pipe was not glued together). Water poured through master bedroom doorway and onto flooring.
We are in our third day of disaster cleanup with the fans and humidifiers. It has totally ruined our sleep and our labor day weekend. It takes multiple calls to the company to get response and often no call back. I called on Saturday and asked for hotel rooms since our house is not livable with the noise. No response. Do not use this company, save yourself a lot of grief and expense. I like others have an aversion to the pink trucks.

We had Right Now come out to provide an estimate to replace our furnace and A/C unit (it recently had gone out). Their estimate was nearly twice what we finally paid with another company (we put in both for $5,500 and their first quote was $10,500 for a less efficient furnace). Not only were they higher - after we told them we had received a lower estimate they immediately said they would match the price (indicating that they were hoping I never would receive a lower quote). After I told them I was not interested in working with them as their matching the price indicated how much they were price gouging us - they proceeded to call my wife to see if she could persuade me into going back to them and their ""outstanding price"". Beware going with this company - and NEVER trust them as your only estimate.

***One star amended to a 2 star following the company's response and refund below. I appreciate that someone in the company is following up, it is unfortunate it took a Yelp review to make contact.***

I contacted Right Now for an A/C issue at one of my rentals. A tech responded quickly and called me to give me a quote. On the phone the tech completely overwhelmed me by rattling off a bunch of jargon about all of the various parts and pieces that needed to be fixed. He listed at least 3 different parts that were faulty as well as the R-22 (charge). Estimating over $1000 of work. He then focused on convincing me I needed a whole new unit.

I contacted a friend who referred me to a trusted company for a quote. $500 repair that was done shortly thereafter.

The Right Now office staff contacted me 5-6 times to get the $65 service change paid while I insisted I receive an invoice and I took quite a while to get it. When I finally got the invoice it stated the same issues the company that completed the fix, and NONE of the issues he listed over the phone. Had he told me I needed a new fan motor for $576 and the R-22 as the written quote states I would have had no problem hiring this company to do that work.

I submitted this complaint to ""Savana"" via email who said she would forward it to management on July 6, 2017 and 2 weeks later I haven't heard from anyone.

They tried to charge $390 w/service call for installing an AC compressor. Every other company quoted around $120 w/service call. These guys will rip you off. They count on you just having them do the work after they've arrived. Call around especially if you are dealing with a pink truck.

So as I begin this review, I have allowed myself 5 days too cool off in this 100 degree plus weather in hopes to make this more professional even though I was not treated professionally.

It started on June 26th of 2017, I stopped by my local Home Depot in Ontario Oregon where a sales rep was sitting beside their units and I asked for a full quote and install. They had someone come to my house that next day. Max the sales rep sold me a full install both Heating and air. I also had informed him that there were no ducts or vents in my house and that the only unit I had was hanging 2 feet out the window on the top floor. We walked around the house and he told me what I wanted to hear. Basically in my contract I was to get everything for roughly 13345.00. I knew it would be expensive, but he assured me that he would have a contractor out on the 28th of June the next day after I signed all the paperwork and the contractor loan agreement. My wife couldn't have been any more excited.

On 6/28 I am at work and get multiple calls from the contractor one to say he arrived, and then 2 hours later to tell me that they could not complete the job because all the equipment the sales rep Max sold me would not fit where it was supposed to go. The contractor also said that he was unaware it was a 2 story house and that I should contact the sales office as soon as I got off work. I then contacted the sales office and they said they would have someone scheduled on my next day off who was more qualified, Thursday the 6th of July. My wife was home at that time and the person who arrived was Max, same person who gave me the quote initially. When I got home 20 min after he arrived he said he was not sure why the company had sent him there, but the next time they could send a technician out was that following Monday....Max W. was a ""Comfort advisor"", I contacted the sales office and after finally getting told different dates (first they again said Monday the 10th, then Saturday the 8th) , they sent someone out within an hour. The person they sent out was a Senior Tech Justin P. and after walking through my house and measuring everything he told me that this job could be done. Since my dad owns a construction framing business I reviewed everything the technician had told me and where the vents would be going, how the heating unit could be placed in the attic and where the interior ductwork would go to reach the basement.

I contacted the sales rep Max W. that Friday and said that I had a Senior tech come out Justin P. and that everything would work. Max W. informed me that he would talk to his boss and that I should expect a construction/install crew there on Monday, July 10th 2017. I then cleared my rooms where the vents and ductwork were supposed to go as well as I cleared my schedule so that I could make sure everything went smoothly.

At 9:30am on July 10th nobody showed up to install. After multiple calls to Max W. I was finally told (after trying to talk to someone (Heather) at the sales office but put on hold for 20min but hanging up instead) that I wouldn't get anyone to come out until the second week of August. I then got another call from Sabrina who was returning my call and I was then told that I should contact other HVAC installers in my area. It may be hard to infer from a phone conversation, but the tone of her voice reflected that they were irritated with my insistent and constant calls to the sales office and that I should have taken my business elsewhere and in a sense that it was my fault that my wife and I were in the current situation. She did not allude that this was at any time there companies fault.

After hearing that I went to the Home Depot store in Ontario and they were also told the same thing that nothing could be done. I finally received a call from GM of the company Brian Cox who called me at 1209pm on Monday the 10th of July who again informed me that they could not install until the second week of August (No date was ever given). I told Brian that I should have received an install sooner due to my contract, but he told me he had just heard about this incident and that the design of my house would also tie up contractors longer and that a gas line installer was what we would be waiting on. After finally going round and round and expressing my frustration I decided to verbally cancel the contract over the phone.

In the end my wife and I both have two credit cards that were opened up in our name and no central heating and air. I understand its the hottest part of the month, but I would have rather heard ""No this is not something we can do""...or a date that this could be completed that wasn't being pushed off later and later. I hope this is help to all that read it and to the owner of the company on hopefully improving the customer service to provide accurate information with honest completion times.

Few years ago (2013) they installed a whole new HVAC system for around $9,250. Since then, they have had to come out 4 times to fix different issues.

Now again on 13 July 2017, the A/C is not working. The wife called and they said the earliest appointment to be made would be Tuesday. That is 5 days with no A/C during the summer on a system still being paid on and under warranty.

Secretary said would check with the manager if can get an earlier appointment and would call back. Well, no call back. Unsatisfactory 5 days out during the summer on a system that is brand new. System should be changed free of charge. This is getting old.

Need to find out if they have lemmon laws for stuff like this. The system works good and efficient, WHEN its working. I work overseas so this is pretty damn frustrating keeps happening on a system only 4 years old.

This is an amendment to my previous review please review below:
I have been thinking long and hard about exactly what I wanted to say in my amended review; as I tend to get pretty word I will keep it simple.
The question I am left asking myself is would I use these guys again? The answer is NO. I do not appreciate the way in which they choose to do business. 1st service tech told me I needed major repairs and that a salesman needs to come out and give me estimate on repairs or replacement ; not happy with that, but schedule appointment. Then I read Yelp reviews and see that they tend to use a hard sell approach and write my review of first visit. Salesman never shows up but it is another tech and he makes additional needed repairs and charges me a second time..hmm.

So in a nutshell; 1st tech visit $350, 2nd tech visit $200, I am left asking myself is the first tech incompetent or is the second tech gauging me?
And where is the salesman? And is my system correctly fixed? Should I call a second company to look at their work? To many lingering questions and $500 later have me giving this company 1 star

I would like to preface this review with 2 caveats:
1) I am a manufacturers sales representative that loathes sales representatives that use a hard sale approach
2) I will be updating this review after the sales appointment on Saturday

2 days ago the AC unit in the house stopped working, of course it was a 100 degree plus day! I called the sticker on AC unit, Right Now Heating & Air.
The scheduler booked for next day between 1pm to 5pm; tech was at house at 12:50pm

The tech was very courteous and knowledgeable about his craft, here is were things go off the rails. Tech informed me that coil was cracked, and needed to be replaced and I said ""great please fix"" then reach informed me that he would schedule for a sales rep to come over and gives us our options. I informed him ""that was not necessary go ahead and make needed repairs"" to which he said ""that is not the way we do it""

Okay, at this point had tech repaired the system this is a 5 star review, but when I am pushed into a sales appointment my radar starts going off, HARD SELL! Then I decide to check reviews of company, and I see that they are being reviewed in such a way that screams HARD SELL.

Like I said I am a sales rep, but I refuse to use the scumbag tactics that most sales reps use, I use a consultation approach.

Here is a quick education on the hard sell:

WHAT IT IS:
A hard sell is an aggressive sales tactic used to persuade customers to make an immediate purchase. It is the opposite of a soft sell.

HOW IT WORKS (EXAMPLE):
In a hard sell, a salesperson tries to sell a product or service by applying pressure that suggests a sense of urgency to the buyer. A hard sell is closely associated with short-term advertising and the assumption that consumers are inherently indecisive. For this reason, many rationalize hard selling as a way to ensure that a buyer benefits and does not miss an opportunity.

For example, someone selling a mattress may engage in hard selling by explaining its long-term orthopedic and health benefits while telling the customer that he or she will get an especially great price if the mattress is purchased that day.

Sooooooo...with all that being said I know have to wait until next Saturday before the the sales rep comes out, because I travel for a living and refuse to have my wife deal with a sales rep.

JUST A FEW CLOSING THOUGHTS:

TO RIGHT NOW HEATING AND AIR: it would have been a much, much, much, much better approach to repair unit inform customer that there a major issues with system and then set up a sales appointment, again I HATE HARD SELLS, and if your sales rep tries that approach I will kick him/her out of my home, and amend review.

THE TECH did a superb job and represented Right Now Heating and Air very well, right up to the point of not making needed repairs.

RIGHT NOW HEATING & AIR also gives a Veterans Discount; thank you for that.

I hope the sales appointment goes well and will be either amending this review to a 5 star or 1 star based of off the sales experience.
