Used to be good, horrible now. Guy came to fix the pipe under my sink. Had to call back bc it was leaking underneath. Then he took out the pipe that he had replaced. He scraped out my iron sink around the hole then when he went to reinstall, the hole he made was too big for the silver ring which basically fell in. he went to his van that was a gigantic mess of two or three feet of junk. He came back with a larger silver ring to put over the gap. He put a small amount of silicone around it which fell off immediately after first use. Now there is a permanent puddle in my sink bc the ring is too high and water doesn't drain. He ruined my sink and then told me I need a new one, which means a whole new vanity too. Multiple calls back to this company bc of this shoddy job and zero phone calls back. this is after being a customer for years.
Avoid this company!
Chris N.As usual, the very best plumbers in Fairfield County. Everything was done professionally, perfectly and well beyond reasonable cost. John, the owner, came to review the project and provide an estimate. Kevin, the service technician moved a drainage pipe into the joist (in probably record time). Scheduling was fast and easy as well. I will always use Ridgefield Plumbing for all our plumbing needs. If you want the best, call them!
I used Ridgefield Plumbing about 18-19 years ago several times when they were a smaller company and John Proctor came and did a great job. Now its all about the money. I made an appointment, told them I had my counter and sink replaced. Told them I needed the water supply and drain hooked up and the garbage disposal hooked up and made a point to tell them that the plumber would need to bring whatever gaskets and mounting equipment that was needed as garbage disposal was not new. They came, told me they didn't have the gaskets etc for the garbage disposal and would hook it up without disposal. I said don't bother but they said they would still have to charge me $200 for the first hour. That is ridiculous. I asked them why I should have to pay for that when I told them in the first place what was required. No answer. I then asked what it would cost when they came back to do the job I wanted them to do in the first place. They told me it would take an hour and it would cost another $200. Fuming I said ok. What choice do I have. Then when they came back the guy took an hour and a half and it cost $300. It was really only 1 hour and 5 minutes, I timed it. But apparently they charge you for the 10-15 minutes that they stand around shooting the shit with you after they finish the job. So $500 to hook up a sink with garbage disposal. Rip Off!!! Buyer Beware!
Dan D.This company is fantasti. Highly responsive and extremely sufficent. Extremely reasonable prices. To me all I cared about was their speedy response and friendly service. Problem fixed the first time.
Lisa P.I've had a great experience with Ridgefield Plumbing. Anytime we've had a plumbing emergency they've been very responsive and quick to fix the problem. Steve and Manny are both fantastic. They are very easy to deal with, do their work quickly and effectively, and go out of their way to communicate and do things right. Like all contractors they're very busy these days, especially for non-emergency work, but I wouldn't hesitate to use Ridgefield Plumbing.
Not sure what is going on over there but the owner is completely out of touch with the issues at hand and ends up causing more problems than were original one.
Robert C.Left unfinished work, returned after one cancellation and needed a part. Have not responded to an email or phone call (only get answering service) in 5 weeks. Awful, awful customer service and even worse human beings. Never, ever use unless you like being frustrated and ripped off.
Over the years I used Ridgefield Plumbing, last time was when Manny did good work for us in 2016. After noticing a leak behind our pedestal sink, I called and explained that we had a leak from a pedestal sink and made an appointment, after explaining we have used Manny several times. Then our boiler blew up and I had to postpone the plumbing appointment for a week due to the boiler install which would require no water for that day. I spoke to the same woman both times. The plumber who arrived was a nice kid, but he showed up very late, after 6 pm, looked at my pedestal sink and told me there was a leak. Duh! That is why I called. He said it was too late and he couldn't fix it, and recommended I buy a new sink since ours was old, as were the pipes, and to get it all fixed at the same time, quoting me a price of $160 an hour, with it taking between one and two hours for the job. He then got a phone call which he took outside. He came back inside and told me the charge for the visit (doing nothing) was $235 which is outrageous. He said they recently decided that now Redding was an out-of-town charge and was time and a half. I spoke to the office THREE TIMES prior to the appointment and was never told that Redding was now considered an out-of-town charge. I paid $235 to be told what I already knew -- that I had a leak behind my pedestal sink (the trap was leaking.). $235 for NOTHING! The kid actually said but at least we are not charging for night work (after they kept me waiting all afternoon for them to show up). DON'T USED RIDGEFIELD PLUMBING!
Had a well get hit by lightning and Ridgefield Plumbing came out in 20 minutes, They hustled and put in a new pump in 3 hours. Guys were amazing - worked really hard and extremely respectful.
An all around top notch experience - so great to find a company that can not only respond quickly but can actually do the work in a quality way!
The technician, Steve, who came to our house for a variety of large and small projects that had accumulated (replacing an old water heater with a tankless unit, replacing an old oil line, fixing two faucets, replacing an instant-hot water unit in the kitchen...) was incredibly thorough and professional. He and his crew were efficient, communicative, prompt and clean. On the two occasions I had to ask follow up questions Steve came back out promptly and addressed the questions I had. I would highly recommend.
