Their phone answering service (automated computer driven) just takes you in circles before hanging up on you. My home warranty contract sent me to them but I was never able to contact anyone. After 2 days the warranty company finally assigned the call to someone else. I can't peak toward their service techs, I never got that far.

I used Richmond heating and air when I needed to get my hot water heater replaced through my home warrenty. They sent their technician Al who was a huge help. He was very professional and kind. They installed my new hot water heater a few days after the claim was placed and it was the same size and quality as my previous one. Once the new heater was in my house, Al discovered that he needed another part to make it sit evenly on my slanted basement floor. He immediately went out and bought it and was back within 20 minutes. He even offered to mop my floor from where the previous one had leaked. I would definitely recommend them!

I had a wonderful experience with this company. I also have a warranty 2/10 I think it's the warranty company that is the problem they don't pay the heating and air companies enough money so the companies put the warrant calls low priority. I have had every warranty company out there and they are all pretty much the same. Especially if your call during a busy season or on a Friday. My air went out and it was a Friday the company did give me the option of paying a extra fee to come out on a Saturday because the warranty company doesn't cover weekend rates. I was hot but opted to wait until
Tuesday instead of paying the extra fee. They also offered to rent me a portable unit unit they could get to me. I have 2 systems so I just waited. The tech came his name was Al he came and fixed my problem in less than 30 mins. He was one of the most knowledgeable heating / air techs I have ever met. I would use this company again. I think if you call most of the home warranty companies (any trade) you will find the same thing at least that was my experience.

I have a HMS home warranty. My water heater leaked all over my basement floor. I have dealt with other contractors in the home warranty and have not been pleased. I understand why since the warranty company doesn't exactly pay the companies very well kind of like the insurance companies when you take your car in for auto body repairs:(. They pay little $$ but expect the same results as if you paid other companies that would charge you 3-4X the price. I called one company out for repair which was adding freon and leak searching my system. The company charged my over $700 and the repair did not last. When I called Richmond Air, they repaired my unit including for the cost of my deductible plus what the warranty company paid them which was only a total of $125. They repaired my unit in a timely manner and fixed it right! The tech was the best! Polite, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home.

So I purchased home warranty when we purchased our home this spring 2016. Unfortunately we had problems with the 2nd floor HVAC so we we made a claim with HMS Home warranty. MHS dispatched Richmond HVAC and Duct Cleaning to take a look and assess. The diagnosis was to replace coil or air handler. HMS called and said the claim was approved to replace the air handler over $1000.00 of parts & labor would not be covered and that woult be my responsibility. I then called Richmond HVAC (company to perform the work) to better understand these items and costs as some of the work, such as drain line cleaning, was already performed 6 weeks earlier. Michelle at Richmond HVAC was rude and kept interrupting me as we discuss the charges to better understand. I shared with her that I wanted to her company the work but wanted transparency and well as to feel that my best interests were being considered as well. I explained I was willing to pay for items and wanted to be sure that the replacement unit was comparable to what we already have and the installation was performed correctly. When I offered to pay her my total out of pocket expenses plus the credit amount the insurance company offered if we wanted someone else to perform the work she chuckled and said no way that it was not enough. When I asked how much more was needed she suggested I go someplace else. Good news is I have avoided a mess - I'm not letting the warranty company push Richmond HVAC in doing poor work with inferior parts. Rather I will Massy Woods and West do the work and I will continue to push HMS to pay me a credit amount that is fair. My recommendation avoid this company!

From a business standpoint, this place is kind of a wreck. I am giving 3 stars though because the technician that came out and fixed our AC was awesome! I hope his bosses don't run his job into the ground. First of all, their website, which the phone answering recorded message directs you to, doesn't exist. It will generate pop up ads if you put it in your browser. Second, their office staff aren't on the same page, so if one tells you they will call back later, if you call them again and get someone else, they'll say, ""oh, who are you again? Why would we call you?"" It's confusing. Then, I called during business hours one day and no one answered at all. All day, no explanation. I had an appointment and needed to ask a question, but apparently the technician was the only one working that day. He was great-- called to say he was on the way, very nice and professional, fixed the problem quickly. I just don't know how they have customers otherwise. Seems mostly it's just home warranty companies that have a contract, and they must not have high standards for their contract holders.

I am hoping to update this review as a slightly better experience, but so far, I have had the same problems listed by others concerning the service. I also was contracted to this company through a home warranty. Called them and they said they would be there the next morning between 9-1pm. Technician was supposed to call with a specific time to arrive. By 12pm, no call, I call and leave a voicemail. No response. So I call at 1pm and find out that the order never was made, and no one is scheduled to come. They tell me that they will submit an order to their emergency line so that ""hopefully"" I will get a technician by the end of the day. Still waiting on a call... I will be contacting my home warranty company about this.

I recently used Richmond heating and air for a 2-10 home warranty claim. Our tech Hal was a true professional. Quick response and fixed our hvac issue in a hour. Great service from 2-10 and Richmond air. I have a family of five and I really appreciate the quick and professional service. Thank you so very much.

Terrible service & communication. Virtually impossible to speak to a human being. ""Lost"" our home warranty appointment and told me ""they didn't service our area"" despite being 35 minutes from their office. We had been without A/C service for over a week only to learn that their technician wouldn't be coming and that they ""weren't obligated to do anything."" Run far away & fast...

All I can say is wow! I would not wish them on anyone. After waiting for them to schedule our appointment, I left several messages only to finally speak to an incredibly rude woman who said I do not have that work order and hung up on me.
