So after the whole experience of getting ripped off by Richie's, I have a new plumber out fixing something else on the pool equipment and I found out they did a shoddy job on the work they did do.

They installed the copper pipe they replaced with ""quick fit"" connections instead of smoldering the copper together. There is constant water pressure on this line and it is causing it to leak.

Thanks for the rip-off work.

What has Richie's crew done for me recently...
* Installed a dishwasher.
* Changed what must have been the original sink drain pipe in the kitchen (HORRIFYING).
* Installed a new kitchen sink.

Just a week or so ago, they fixed terracotta pipes under my coworker's house because they were cracked. Gotta love an old house.

I've used Richie's Plumbing for over 20 years and always highly recommend.

After being jerked around by another company for a week, I called Richie's Plumbing and I can't say enough good things about Richie's!! I called them at 8:40am and they had someone on the way to my house less than a half hour later. The other company mis-diagnosed the problem and Matt from Richie's Plumbing told me what was really going on and that I didn't need that $100 part after all. (Thank goodness I didn't buy it!!)

Also, Matt had the problem fixed in less than a half hour, called to give me updates, and they let me pay over the phone with a credit card so I didn't have to leave work to meet them at the house. I am a new homeowner and was getting very stressed dealing with the previous plumbers. After my experience with Richie's Plumbing, I can definitely say with confidence that I will have them on speed dial from now on!!

These guys were really good and professional. I had some problems with leaking faucets when we moved into our new place, and they fixed the issue and even stayed to test their work. I've had some shoddy work done by other plumbers, but I will certainly be using these guys again and would recommend them to anyone in the NOLA area.

I would never use this company again. They definitely overcharge their customers. When I initially called I was told that I would be charged $75 to have someone work on the hot water heater and if any additional parts or work would need to be done then it would cost an additional $150 an hour. Basically they tried to charge me $75 to show up at my house plus an additional 80 to 150 to press two buttons on my hot water heater. The plumber was only in my house for 2 minutes. If I would have known that I would have been charged $75 just for them to knock on my door I would have called another company!

I hired Richie on Jen. L's recommendation and was not disappointed. We were renovating an upstairs bathroom with 100+ year old water pipes and lots of issues. The demolition was a fun DIY job. I mean, there's nothing like swinging a sledgehammer to relieve some stress! The hard part came when we had to start putting things back together.

Now, I am clueless when it comes to plumbing, so I knew we would need some help. I called four different contractors and Richie was by far the quickest to get back with me and the cheapest price. He was able to remove all of the old plumbing, install the new bathtub and run the new water pipes in one day. Richie is a super nice guy and I would highly recommend his services.

However, dramatically overcharged for part and labor. $65 fee just to visit, and then $100 for 20 minutes of labor and a part that costs $10 tops at Lowe's (a part of equal quality). I know that the fee just for the visit is standard, but really makes me think...I'm paying this company to simply grace me with their presence, allowing me to use their service PLUS labor and parts on top of that? The whole visit was 20 minutes.

I felt as though instead of teaming up with me to find a solution, they simply tried to find ways to charge as much as they could. I am a homeowner with no handyman. Needless to say, I will likely have a need for a plumber in the future, and I likely will not return to Richies.

We needed immediate help for a toilet that kept overflowing. Saw Jen L's recommendation and it seemed solid. We lucked out with scheduling and these fellows were here within the hour. They did a great job, were very clean about it, and were friendly and courteous. Cost is no doubt normal-- you wish you didn't have to spend it, but it had to be done. They did a toilet repair that needed doing, and they were also exceedingly generous with information about how to diagnose a toilet problem and have empowered me to possibly handle certain problems myself in future. Really nice folks and I would trust them for future work.

They came out the same day I called although I expected them to come out the next day. Greatly appreciated as we had a bad leak and had turned off the water 5 days previously. Price was very reasonable especially since we got the repair within hours of calling. Thanks!! Richie's Plumbing!
