I rarely review companies but felt compelled to based on what a great job Richoh plumbing did for my family. Saturday morning my wife tells me that her toilet is not flushing. I attempted to repair it with a plunger and then an auger. No dice. I then discovered that while I was doing all this work the toilet just adjacent to this one is now flooding out from beneath the base of the toilet. Ok then.... Time for a plumber. On a Saturday. UGH!! I don't have a toilet at all now so what are you going to do?!

Called Richoh and got on the list for appointments. Sadly, the on call guy was jammed up at a huge job all day so he couldn't get to my place until almost 5pm. Totally understandable and I was grateful that someone was coming out at all. Frank was extremely professional and very clean. He put booties on his work boots before even coming into the house. Frank quickly assessed the situation and determined that he had to pull the toilet that was leaking, replace the wax seal, and run a snake to clear the line. I've got vintage 1961 cast iron, and these two toilets are on a T line with a 90 degree angle that leads to the main line. Frank really busted ass and got that snake to go down that line, I was really impressed at his persistence as I would have given up after 10 minutes. Having fixed the primary issue he then replaced the wax ring and put the toilet back in place. Frank then spent a fair amount of time just cleaning up everything, ensuring not one speck of grime was left behind.

Was it kind of pricey? Yes. But let me very clear, I am not complaining. For a plumber to do that kind of grunt work at 7pm on a Saturday night is not going to be cheap. The price was less than $500, but they delivered quality work for that price, at that hour and on a weekend.

I have several other plumbing needs that need to be addressed and you bet I will be calling Richoh and asking for Frank specifically. Just not on a Saturday evening.

Beware of Richo Plumbing when servicing/replacing your water heater! We paid for an extended warranty at the time of purchase 8 years ago which was clearly noted on the receipt. Evidentally the warranty wasn't sent in to the manufacturer (Bradford White) . Richo said they would ""still honor"" the warranty, but it was going in to cost $1,700 (labor and upgrades) to instal the new tank. We originally paid Richco $1,500 8 years ago for a 75 gallon tank installed with an upgraded warranty. Today the cost of the same size and brand without upgraded warranty is $2,500. Subtract the $800 credit they will give us to replace the tank and the difference is $1,700 which is RIDICULOUS.

We discussed going tankless. The bid was MORE THAN $10,000. $5,600 for the tankless system installed plus an additional $4,700 for a home water filtration system. Ben, the gentleman from Richco explained that the tankless system is void of warranty if we do not have a home filtration system. Three other plumbers told me they've NEVER heard of such a warranty stipulation.

How can you market 24/7 plumbing if you don't have availability for over a week? I highly doubt you have someone out there day and night and on weekends if I call at 430 and you have nothing for over a week.

Beware. My experience with Richco was less than pleasant. I called them for what I thought was a rooter issue and was offered two options: $375 to remove toilet and snake line or $450 to add an accessible cleanout and snake line which would make future issues more accessible. I agreed to the cleanout. Several hours later I was met by a ""salesman"" who told me I needed to replace my pipes and it would be $3,000. Further, they could start tomorrow and sign here now. I refused and told them I need to think about such an unexpected and expensive repair. They told me they tried to snake my line but it was so blocked that their snake broke and sure enough lying there was this thin snake part. I called them the next day and told Matt that I wanted the original option that I already paid for and that was the cleanout. He sent out a totally different crew to do this and this crew told me they still could not clear my lines. I called LA Hydrojet (who was referred by a contractor) and they told me the installed cleanout was in a ""T"" formation and their best equipment (the claw) could not access it properly. They also saw the so called broken snake left behind by Richco and told me it was not near sufficient to snake a clogged pipe. LA Hydrojet not only cleared the line for $125 but gave me a 90 warranty. I called Richco to complain about the cleanout that I had just paid $450 for and they told me ""it was done to code"". Hmmmm. Done to code? Not only will I investigate this code (which will cost be more money) but I will be sure that Richco Plumbing is exposed.

Had a kitchen sink stoppage and called Richco, they came out within 45 min and did an outstanding job. No mess and left it cleaner than they found it. I am a senior now but use to be a plumber so I knew exactly what needed to be done. They did that and more. Their pricing was more than fair and I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

GET A SECOND OPINION... FOR SURE!!!! If I could give 0 star, I would. I have used this company 2ce on 2 separate issued and trusted their opinion and work they do. It was not until this week that I learned I was being hustled. After a minor issue, a camera inspection was done on my main line leading to our restrooms. I was told I have a hole over 12 inches long in the main pipe leading out to our street and that my pipe would collapse any day. We were given an estimate, indicating a ""nu flow liner"" needed to be installed ($5984) and a clean out need to be installed as well as a hydrojet cleaning ($2100). Over $8000 later, I was never once shown the video of the camera inspection nor photos proving the damage was this severe. My husband and I got a second, third and fourth opinion only to be sure that all would agree and with each inspection, we were shown the video of our pipe and saw that there were no cracks nor holes! We were told by each plumber that our pipes were in great condition. In the end, all we needed was a clean out installed and hydrojet cleaning... all done for $400!!!! THANK GOD WE DIDN'T TRUST RICHCO'S OPINION!

We had a flood in our home from a toilet connection that broke. We called richco and they came out immediately and fixed the problem and the cost was very reasonable. It was a holiday weekend and they didn't charge me extra! I've also used them for a complete home remodel for a design client and they always came on time and were very professional and reliable. I will never use another plumber besides Richco!
