Update: I received an apology letter and half of my payment back from the company. They let the useless manager go and hired someone new. Follow up like this I can appreciate and admire. Therefore the extra 2 stars.

I wish there was a half star option because this is what I would give them. They did all the heating, plumbing & cooling when my house was built, however, now my business is clearly not important to them now. Last fall my sump pump failed and they supposedly fixed it but I had to call them out a second time and by the time they got there few days later my back-up had been running continuously for several days (thus quite hefty water bill I got stuck with). This last time I requested a service call they didn't even bother to call me back about something that I thought was under warranty and wasn't even willing to check their records to assure me that it wasn't. There was definitely a bad attitude all the way around and I will never use them again. Good customer service goes a long way and they don't provide it.

They are the contractor on our new build house. Have called them twice for issues and their employees have always been courteous and fixed the issues. They didn't have a part on their truck so they ran to ACE to get it instead of having to come back again. Been pretty happy with them

Beware of using their service. They provided me quote for work and explained a certain feature was automatically included. After the service I inquired about the feature not being included and was then told it was extra. When I had contact with the person that provided bid, he was very unprofessional and accused me of wanting something for free. No, I wanted what was promised.

We employed Rich Plumbing for replacement of a water heater, and were extremely disappointed when the new water heater failed and we could not get a return call from the company. It posed a safety hazard, and Rich Plumbing never contacted us back to resolve our issue.

Rich's were very helpful during the bidding process. Unfortunately by the third week they would not return calls, and the final cost was double the original bid with very few changes made on my part.

Wow--I wish I had read the earlier review before using this service. Here's my experience:

I called Rich Plumbing to get a quote for services relating to a clogged drain. The employee said, ""Our hourly rate is $60... no, wait, it's $75."" I agreed to $75/hour, and we set up an appt. The plumber was at my house for a total of 25 mins (he was nice and did a fine job).

Two weeks later, I received an invoice for $90. That invoice stated an hourly rate of $90 (not $60 or $75) and that the plumber was there for a full hour--a discrepancy in (1) hourly rate and (2) service-call duration. I called Rich about these issues, and a week later I received a new invoice for $75.

I called again about the discrepancy in duration of the service, and asked that they call me back with a resolution so that I could pay them ASAP. The employee said that she ""only does what the boss tells her to do""--and I did not receive a call back.

After two weeks of no response from Rich, I emailed them the following: ""I used your services for a clogged drain. The technician arrived at 8:15am and left at 8:40am (for a total of 25 minutes). The hourly rate I was quoted was $75/hour. For 25 minutes, that amounts to $31.25. However, I was charged for a full hour at $75. This amount is excessive for the completed work. I am, however, willing to round up to the half hour and pay $37.50. Please email me or call me, so that I can send payment to you.""

The following day, I received this email from Rich: ""Our service rate is 75.00 per hour with a minimum of one hour, we cannot bill by the minute as you would suggest. If we did, I do not think we would be in business. In this first hour of service we are paying our service man the drive time, gas to get to the appt and the wear and tear on our vans. Our service rates are far cheaper than most others in town. I do not see how you can argue or think the charge is excessive with a $75.00 bill for the service that was completed satisfactory per your request. We deal with certain types of customers all the time that need and want a service done, and then try anything possible to get out of paying a bill, this is why we have a collection agency and attorney on retainer in order to take care of these matters. We will not argue about a bill with a customer who does not want to pay, we automatically turn this over to collection. But in the future, if you need a service completed that you do not intend to pay, try this with another company please.""

The rude tone and collection-agency threats aside, this was the first mention of a one-hour minimum charge [i.e., it is not posted on their website and was not mentioned during the initial phone call requesting a quote], and ""our service rate of $75"" does not match the original invoice rate of $90.

BTW, I have sent a check to Rich for $75 (before the original due date). I only hope that Rich Plumbing will make their pricing more transparent and consistent, and will clearly state minimum charges in the future. It would also be nice if they did not take accusatory tones with their customers (as this seems to be a pattern for them).

Good work and speedy. However, they do start charging from the time they leave Wapella, so be prepared to pay an extra $70 for their travel time. When I called to ask about the price, the owner and staff did have a bit of an attitude. Wouldn't recommend as a result.
