I had an AC unit installed by Sermon Electric in 2012. I had them come out when it stopped working and the technician told me it was leaking freon, and that I needed to have it diagnosed to see where the leak was. He said it would be $400 to test, then about another $1200 to replace the evaporator coil. So approximately $1500-2000 all up, is what they said.

Thinking that didn't make much sense, I called Rexburg Plumbing &I Heating after somebody else saved lots of money by going with them, I asked them to come out. Michael came by and plugged in his equipment and confirmed there was no leak at all. The fault was something to do with the TXV Sensing Bulb, which didn't even need replacing, but needed an adjustment, and he said I was using air filters in my furnace that were restricting the airflow too much.

It's working great now! The best part is my service ended up costing me $90!
