Rescue Plumbing was able to provide same day service for what I had thought was a clogged or bad garbage disposal. They were able to quickly diagnose the issue as actually a clog in the main line. They cleared the clog quickly and efficiently and I was extremely happy with the service. We were immediately able to use the kitchen again and would use rescue plumbing again in the future if needed.

Pricing was fair as well and discussed up front.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Rescue Plumbing advertises free estimates, but when they showed up (two hours late, by the way), they suddenly wanted to charge me $125 for a ""leak estimate""--they're a plumber, what other type of estimates do they do?

They initially scheduled me between 2-4 PM, didn't show up, then claimed they called (they didn't). When I followed up, they pushed the time to 3-5 PM and still didn't show. Finally, at 6 PM, someone showed up, walked in, glanced at the faucet, and said, ""You need a new faucet,"" then immediately walked out. That was the entire ""estimate.""

Then the real bait-and-switch began. I received an email estimate for $150, but shortly after, someone from the company called and told me it would actually be $575. Meanwhile, every other estimate I got from reputable plumbers was in the $200-$300 range.

This company is completely unprofessional, unreliable, and deceptive. They waste your time with false advertising and shady pricing tactics. Avoid at all costs.

Really great service. I had an issue late at night on a Saturday, and they were able to schedule an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Logan and Djenkis were right on time and took the time to explain to me what they were looking for and what I might want to look out for in the future. I got the service I needed and also left feeling like I learned a little more about how my own plumbing works for the future. Absolutely recommend.

Victor is a pro! Extremely courteous and considerate. Nobody ever wants to deal with major plumbing issues, but I do highly recommend he and Rescue Plumbing should you need to!

This isn't a jaw-dropping tale of woe, it's just a case of an outfit being typically annoying by not showing up or calling, not doing business in an efficient manner, contradicting itself, not understanding how to change a simple shower head diverter, being outrageously priced, and just basically wasting your time.

I had a straightforward, uncomplicated job: replace 3 leaky faucet valves one being a simple diverter valve for a hand held shower head. I had photos of all three, easily adequate for a plumber to quote a price from the photos.

But Rescue was adamant, they would not accept photos; their plumber would have to go on site and see for himself. I thought that was really odd, making an extra, needless trip, but fine, if that's what they want. No doubt they'd cover it in the price.

I went to the job site and waited the entire 2-hour window but nobody came and nobody called.

When I called Rescue, they said their plumber was running late but would still come. I asked approximately when, but she hadn't even asked. She said she would call him back and then call me back. No explanation why the guy didn't call when he knew he couldn't make it so that I wouldn't have to wait at the job site for nothing.

She called back and said she'd send a different plumber who would arrive in about 45 minutes to an hour.

Just after 30 minutes later, the new guy calls and says it will be 35 to 45 minutes. (Okay, I can be flexible, thanks for letting me know.)

31 minutes after that, he calls (apparently not on his way yet) and asks if I can send him PHOTOS, which is what I tried to do in the first place and was told emphatically that they would not go by photos, insisting they would not quote without going to see for themselves--which would be understandable for anything the least bit complicated, but not for this.

So I sent photos and he said he could indeed quote on the basis of photos and would call me back within 2 hours with a price, sight unseen--which is what I suggested in the first place.

When he eventually called, he said the he would have to get underneath our generic Jacuzzi style tub to change the diverter, and for that alone (not counting the other 2 leaky faucets) the cost would be $1700.

Well, you do NOT have to get underneath to change the diverter valve, it is easily done from the top.

I called a different plumber (known to be high priced, so I called him reluctantly). He came and changed all three valves for almost exactly half the price that the Rescue guy wanted for just one of them.

Folks, save yourselves the headaches AND the high prices. Call call somebody else to the rescue, not Rescue Plumbing.

Absolutely fantastic service from the crew at Rescue Plumbing. Scheduled service for a Saturday morning and they were early. Fixed my garbage disposal in under five minutes. Have already recommended them to others and will use them exclusively for my home.

I own 2 rental properties in downtown Chicago. I had some critical issues in one of the units. My building is old, and the plumbing in particular was outdated and deteriorating. Rescue plumbing (Pete Ishmael) was outstanding to work with. He and his team are very thorough in their work. He took time to explain the issue, my options, and the steps he was taking to completely resolve my leaking pipes. I was blown away that Rescue Plumbing was not only the most complete and detailed of all the repair quotes I requested but also the most reasonably priced. I cannot recommend their services highly enough. I would never consider using any other plumbing or pipe repairmen in the Chicago area, besides Pete and the team at Rescue Plumbing!
