Recommended Customer Reviews

We contacted RePipe Specialists of Arizona to solicit a bid to repipe our home in Fountain Hills, AZ. Mike Miron, Sales Manager, visited our home and gave us a written quote to perform the work. The quote included a written estimate for wall patching and texturing for $700-$1400. Mike made verbal commitments during the sales call or in a subsequent phone call to:
1) Install new customer-provided fixtures on our sinks and shower at no charge;
2) Dig a trench and install an extension to our main water line terminating in our garage for $1500.
The quote from RePipe Specialists was very competitive compared to the four (4) other plumbers that we received bids from, and we awarded the work to the company. Mike emailed a link to an electronic copy of the paper contract that he left with us during the sales call for us to sign. We also gave him a $700 deposit before signing the contract (red flag). The electronic copy had the 20% discount and the wall patching/texturing promises crossed out. The electronic copy was also missing the back side of the contract that included the terms and conditions, the estimated start/completion dates, and a place for us to initial acknowledging the terms and conditions and dates.
We sent a text message to Mike asking why the discount and patching quotes were crossed out. We further asked him to include the verbal commitments that the patching will not exceed $1400, the trenching quote of $1500, and that the fixtures will be installed at no cost in the written contract. We also asked him to provide an electronic copy of the back of the contract with the Ts&Cs and the start/completion dates for us to initial.
Suddenly, we were no longer desirable customers and Mike offered to refund our money. We escalated this matter to RS corporate in CA and the president of the company backed up Mike (no executive wants to lose a revenue producing sales guy, regardless of his ethics). We stated we wanted our deposit back on Monday...we'll see if it show up.
NEVER take the verbal promise of a salesperson as a commitment. Get EVERYTHING in writing before signing anything. READ everything carefully. Be VERY CAUTIOUS dealing with Mike and RePipe Specialists. Mike's unprofessional, deceptive and unethical (crossed out items on electronic contract, missing Ts&Cs, refusal to put verbal quotes in writing) business practices should give you pause. There are lots of plumbers doing residential re-pipe projects...research and vet them carefully before signing anything or paying any money.
