Description Of Work: Replaced copper piping with Pex in our 2,253 sqft home

We are currently getting our bathroom remodeled. After many pinhole leaks and
lack of water flow to our new bathtub, we decided to replace our copper piping
with PEX. RePipe 1 gave us the best deal out of all our bids. They were fast,
had great communication, and very professional. We had the pleasure of working
with Greg, who easily eased our anxiety as first time homeowners doing major renovations. We thank Re-Pipe 1 for being our silver lining during our home improvements.

The re-pipe crew worked hard. We were not there when the drywall crew came. We were assured that we would be getting new insulation in the many holes in the walls, but in light of all of the communication breakdowns we experienced with Re-pipe 1 we can only hope that they insulated the walls. The rep., Greg was nice as he reeled us in, but not one bit helpful when problems arose and we needed help. No one from Re-pipe headquarters returned our calls when we needed help. We had issues with the re-pipe, then they left a gaping opening in the exterior of our building exposed to rainy weather - for 6 days! Not a word from them - no return phone calls. As soon as that hole was patched though the pushy rude staff called everyday for three days wanting to know when we were going to pay the balance. We have some issues to resolve.

I highly recommend Repipe 1...
It was a great price to redo my house a few years back and they were willing to work with us the pricing. They were all professional and courteous. Cleaned up after the work was done and did great patchwork and included fixtures that I may use for my future appliances that i have been purchasing through out the years.

Only reason why I give them a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because one employee on the phone was short with me and didn't want to take the time to fully follow through with my inquiries. But great work overall.

We repiped two story house of 3000 sq feet with three bathrooms in Whittier. extremely happy with their work.

The estimator told us it would take three days but they completed in two days - 1 day to repipe and the next day to patch.

Very professional and timely follow up when the guys of the patching crew noticed reported a leakeep outside the garage from main to the house.

I highly recomend this company.

Shortcuts and shoddiness ruined an otherwise excellent job.

The Good: the plumbers worked until 7:20 pm to get the water turned back on the same day. The patchers' wallboard and texture work looked awesome, perfectly blending with the existing wall. The overall price was very competitive.

The Bad: they don't re-paint the walls! Be careful to listen how the estimator describes it, they never said it but wrote in the contract ""match texture"". It's been two weeks and I am still touching up. This includes the stucco, their patch won't match.
The plumbers like to take shortcuts. They asked four times to do something ""easier"" that would be uglier. I was adamant about not cutting through the stucco because it's so hard to match. Because there were three of them I missed when the kitchen guy decided without permission to punch a hole in the stucco, right outside the backyard door. I called the corporate office and complained. I think the plumber just didn't want to wait for the water to be turned off, and run the faucet line through the existing hole. The patch is ugly as sin.
The worst plumbing shortcut was when they brought the PEX out of the kitchen wall at an angle: the wallboard patchers couldn't get a good fit, so I had to call the corporate office again to tell them ""add another elbow to make a perpendicular exit, they're cheap"". The one plumber they sent had no working equipment and had to go to a hardware store, twice.
The estimator was completely wrong about the approach. He thought they could go through the joists, but the plumbers ended up going through the attic. Note that when the city inspector came, he commented that there were way more holes in the wall than normal, even though he also mentioned that Repipe1 does good work.
The wallboard guy was not re-installing the insulation. I watched after I told him; as he tried to pull out the wadded up pieces I said ""no, that lump of fiberglass is ruined, you need to put in new insulation.""
The texture guy left both bathrooms when I noticed that they did not texture inside the cabinets. I made them go back and do it.
The texture overspray is everywhere. I am finding it on light fixtures, pipes, countertops, flooring, etc. on almost every spot they patched.
Both plumbers and patchers left a mess, even though I asked the patchers to clean up after the plumbers. Stains from their car, hot sauce cups, packaging debris, soda bottles, half a roll of fiberglass insulation and even a jacket.

UPDATE: I have found a few more overspray spots, but the worst was that on a sunny day my cold water lines flowed hot for ten seconds. I have to say, I called the company and they immediately sent a plumber out to fix it; he had to wrap the attic lines with insulation. At least they try to please the customer, you just have to be smart enough or complain enough. I upgraded their score to two stars, for what it's worth.

My husband and I had a slab leak in our condo and called Repipe 1 to re-pipe instead of repairing the slab leak. The salesman originally told us it would take 3 days to complete the job and subsequently sent a revised contract stating 5-7 days. He also said we would have hot and cold running water at the end of the first day. That was not the case. It took them three days to get the hot water running and we had to spend three nights in a hotel. They cut unnecessary holes in the walls and ceilings and left dust everywhere. The drywall repair was no better. We are still trying to get them to fix the bad patches and they have been out three times to repair the texture. There is texture over every surface in our house: on walls they did not cut, on the kitchen cabinets and counters. I could not be more unhappy with their lack of concern for our home. They have called us liars (thankfully my husband had pictures) and threatened us with liens if we with held payment for unsatisfactory workmanship. We have asked twice to have a supervisor come to our house so we can show them the problems and they keep sending a drywall crew. I would definitely not recommend this company.

We are very happy with the service that we received from Repipe 1. From the beginning Greg, the project manager, was very thorough and informative. Everyone works for the company so there are no sub contractors and everyone was here on time every day. We were walked through the process at the beginning, middle and end to keep us informed. The lead person was the same from day one and she was here everyday if we had any questions. The patching and texturing of our ceilings and walls is great!! You can't even tell where the holes were!! Everyone was professional and a real pleasure to deal with and they treated our home as if it were their own. We highly recommend them!!

Woke up to a warm bathroom tile floor. Nice to have however it was caused by a under slab hot water leak. House was 60 years old so decided to re-pipe now rather than have more leaks later. Called Repipe1 and had a project manager there in one day. Workers came in the second day and using Pex plastic had water fixed and on in 7 hours. City inspector the next day and passed with flying colors. Patched the next day and looks perfect and works even better. Would highly recommend. Life time guarantee on product and services. Company stayed in contact during repair and met all starting times.

Highly recommend Repipe 1! Best prices around, fast service, great communication from the salesmen to the follow ups. Our inspector that came out spoke highly of the company as well, said he's never seen a problem. The crew that came to patch the holes was great and hard working, you can't tell where they patched (over 80 holes). Yes, we had to do a lot of painting but that was expected. Other repipe companies do not patch after the job, this was a real bonus.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had our whole house repiped with pex pipe and, best I can tell, they did a good job with that. (Only complaint regarding their work is that they retextured a whole wall and two whole ceilings, in two rooms, when all they were suppose to do is retexture the immediate area around the holes in the wall. The problem was that we had to repaint the whole wall and whole ceiling in both rooms which meant several hours of work repainting for us.) But my complaint here is with Sam, the man who runs the whole operation. (There are, at least, 2 Sams who work for Repipe1.) If you use Repipe1 watch out for his trap. He mislead us and tried to make us believe we owed $8000 when in reality we had a written quote, from Chris, for $5650 for the repipe inside of the house, and an unwritten quote, phone quote, from Chris for $800 for repiping from the street to the house. This adds up to $6450. The problem is this: If you want to use their ""free"" 6 month financing, they have you sign a loan from a bank (Wells Fargo) for $8000. So Wells Fargo pays repipe1 $8000 and then you pay back Wells Fargo after 6 months. But, the trick is Repipe1 already has their (YOUR) money and if they overcharged you (as they did with us) then you're in the position of having to try to get your own money back from them! What a trick! When we first noticed, after the job was done, that we owed (Wells Fargo) $8000, we contacted Repipe1 and asked when we'd get the difference back ($1550). At first Sam swore he had a written estimate for $6550 and that combined with $1450 (which he claimed we owed for the outside piping) came out to exactly $8000! How convenient for them. I told Sam I'd like to see his written estimate for $6550 but he refused to show it to me. (Because he didn't have one, of course.) Then I told him the secret I had been holding back from him, that we still had our written estimate (from Chris)! Sam said he wanted to see it so I faxed him a copy. After that he knew I had him and agreed to give us $800 refund. But, he told me that the $800 estimate Chris gave us over the phone (for the outside work) wasn't valid since it wasn't in writing (even though I talked to Chris on the phone again and he told me yes he did give me a quote for $800). I told him Chris gave me the phone quote as a guarantee but Sam wouldn't give in, nor would he even accept HIS OWN EMPLOYEE's word. So I told Sam to refund me $1000 and I'd go away. So he agreed. But, when we got the $1000 refund check in the mail, Repipe1 made a mistake and also included an in-house memo which said they ""had made a mistake and overcharged the customer by $1550 and that amount was being refunded to the customer"". Quote, unquote. They never meant for us to see that note. Someone, maybe Sam, is skimming money of the top. So I called and talked to Sam again. Though I had this undeniable evidence (their won words!) they owed us more money (another $550) he refused to send me back my money. So in essence Sam stole $550 from us. I seriously thought about taking them to small claims court where it would be a slam-dunk case, but small claims is a lot of hastle with forms to fill out and other time-consuming steps and in the end they only give a ruling but don't actually collect the money. So I decided it's not worth my time. But, watch out for this trick if you use their ""free"" financing.
