He fixed all my problems and did not try to upsell me. I am a single mom and the last thing I need is someone playing on that fact. He was very detailed oriented in his work. I called Dave after reading the yelp reviews. As a single home owner, I sure wish I would have found him years ago! He fixed the problem on the day I called him for less than I expected. He understood the concerns I had about my water heater so instead of trying to up-sell me into something I didn't need he just fixed the problem. I have had major plumbing issues with my home since I purchased it (over $10k) and can tell you that of all the plumbers I have used, Dave at Renew Plumbing is the best. Practical, affordable and honest.

I found Dave off of Yelp and he was as good as the 5-star rating suggested. We lost hot water on a Sunday and I followed the instructions on the hot water tank but could not get the pilot re-lit. With fears of new water heaters swimming in my head I called Dave and he scheduled to see me first thing on Monday. He came out and was able to fix the loose wire in my ignition sparker (I don't know the technical term for it). Then he showed me how to correctly re-light my pilot (the instructions on my water tank were incomplete). He also put my fears of a new water tank to rest. On top of all of that, he gave me some wonderful information on options I might want to think about some day if I eventually do change out my water heater.

Dave's the man! I bought a water heater and instant heat pump from him. He quoted me a price. Didn't charge me anymore than what he quoted me. Came to my house 2 seperate times after i paid him (free of charge) to ensure everything was correct and balanced. (if you buy instant heat, it's possible the system needs to be balanced). He's great at what he does. Dave will forever be the plumber for my house. No use looking elsewhwhere. When it comes to electricity and water...i don't mess around. Go with the best...protect your investment.

Dave did an excellent job.

My definition of an excellent job: Licensed
1.) The price quoted is what I paid
2.) Showed up at the appointed time
3.) Inspected the area prior to doing the work
4.) Installed quality parts (something that won't break in the year and generate a 2nd or 3rd service call = 3 x the cost)
a.) upfront, you may be able to purchase parts similar that are made from a different manufacture but the quality may not be there.
5.) Walked me through what he did (pointed out the part and how it functions and instructions as needed)
6.) Said he would call back and in three days too see if there were any problems and He did just that.
7.) Trust!!! You can leave him alone in your house and trust he is not going to rip off. You can think of him as the babysitter that has watched over your children for the last several years.
8.) Willingness to come in on a weekend or at moments notice.

Well that is my definition of Dave.

A true professional in the classic realm of service and a qualified licensed Plumber - not a tech. Obvious pride of ownership in his business. Courteous, yet personable. NO used car type SELLING - so refreshing. I have a 50 year old home that the plumbing basically imploded! He took care of everything without charges for every little thing. First came the day I called (late in the day ) after I had a nightmare experience with another ""plumber/salesman"" from one of those heavily advertised companies and cleaned out the main sewer -ugh, then carefully inspected and diagnosed my other plumblng problems. Came back the next day, on time, prepared to replace 2 toilets, a garbage disposal and fixed the shower drip. All done quickly with quality materials for the doodads that needed to be replaced. Did NOT try to sell me new items for things that still worked. Very tidy and clean. Pricing was more than fair. A breath of fresh air in todays age of SELL not service. Do not hesitate to call call Dave!

A skilled plumber with great customer service

I had an obvious slab leak. Detection was not an issue for me. I turned to Yelp to find a plumber. I found three that were fairly close and high ratings. Two of the three were fairly well known throughout the San Diego area (advertise often) the other guy said he could not come for several days. I return to yelp, call the next several highly rated plumbers. ReNew was the first to return my call. I had made arrangements for estimates from all three. The first two that came out were very good salesmen, one even had a contract in front of me before he was done assessing the solution.

ReNew came and unlike the others ReNew is a plumber. He spent some time assessing both the situation, and more importantly, the solutions. After he was done he explained the repair options (in plumbing there is usually more than one solution to consider) we discussed the impact and benefit of each. After I made my decision on how to proceed with a repair, and discussing his availability he told me he would put together an estimate and e-mail it to the next day, then left, without a sales pitch, up sell, or any other kind of added stress. Later that night I received and estimate that was very competitive. Needless to say I chose ReNew to complete the repair (a hot water re-route). The job took a couple of days (as discussed). They completed the work with minimal destruction to my walls, even corrected some code discrepancies that have existed since the house was built. A few days after the repair was completed Renew came back to check on the repair and fix a couple of issues (un related to my repair). Hot water is now re-routed with better flow than before, no leaks.

It was a pleasant surprise to get professional, competent courteous service. There are lots of new products, and technologies in plumbing these days. There is also a great deal of sales strategies being used as well, talk with them before you make any decision.

So, If you need a skilled ""plumber"" and want great customer service call ReNew.

great customer service!

my garbage disposal went out right before the holidays. with family coming to san diego i needed it fixed. renew plumbing was there the next day. dave spent awhile trying to fix the disposal, before finally explaining to me why it was dead. he quickly replaced it and showed me how to fix and maintain it.

i also had two sinks that were slow to drain. he quickly fixed them without any problems (one was filled with hair, the other with a penny and other things the kids tossed down it!). then he cleared out all the other sinks in the house without any additional charge.

finally, he asked me about my kitchen faucet. i did not realize it was not quite right. he ordered me a replacement (he is a moen representative and all our fixtures are moen). the replacement arrived the next the next day, and dave installed it free of charge.

i would recommend Renew Plumbing to anyone looking for a skilled plumber and great customer service.
