I called Remer after they were recommended by two separate people (against my own judgement from other reviews) to replace a broken water heater at my parents house in Saginaw while I live out of state - and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Talk about timing.

In the literal worst time to be out of hot water, everyone I spoke to over the phone was polite and helpful, from Dave who answered all my questions, to Amy in the office who scheduled the appt and took my information. I was even pleasantly surprised they were able to schedule a next-day installation. When they arrived it turned out the old water heater was NOT a standard size so they had to get a different one, but they did so in only a few hours and came back the next day with a new one that fit perfectly.

Matt and his team arrived on time and performed the installation quickly, and Matt even helped out with a few small home repairs just because he was there and had the tools, which my Mom and I very much appreciate!

I am SO pleased with our Remer experience and would recommend them to anyone looking for heating and cooling services in the Tri-City area. Thanks again to Dave, Amy, and Matt!

Sold me a defective part. When I tried to return it they told me it couldn't be returned because it had been installed. I wish I had read these reviews before giving them my business.

Wow, the reviews in here are brutal! With a couple exceptions and this will be one of. This first account is recent from July 2019. I'm mentioning it because it goes to show that the staff will work with you.

I stopped by Remer's with a capacitor sensing relay problem on my Aprilaire ionizing air filter, I could have ordered it from Amazon and waited a couple days but I thought I'd check and see if I could get it locally. Low a behold I could and it saved me 20% off of the Amazon price. I want to thank Remer's for ordering the part for me because a lot of HVAC suppliers don't sell direct to public.
Second, account is from 1996 when Remer's came out and did a great job removing the old and I mean old gas furnace from my parents home and installing a much higher efficiency Heil split system that runs great too this day! ""Disclaimer the furnace specifically because the outside cooling coils met an untimely demise bye exploding above ground pool.""
I'm going to say give them a chance and over communicate to make sure you understand the cost and the costs associated with the problems that need to be fixed and make sure to treat the people you're doing business with the way that you want to be treated. Note for the loud people the yelling types, tone it down a bit. The loafers voice in the room isn't always the rightest!

If there was a way to leave a negative star rating I would! This pathetic excuse for a company had the audacity to send a bill for work they NEVER performed AND for MORE than they quoted it would be if they HAD done it. Do NOT use these people. They are liars, cheaters and scammers. Do yourself a favor and go to ANYBODY but them. You'll be happy you did!

I was skeptical about going here based on the reviews, but I needed answers to my problem. So, as I entered the building from the storefront (apparently from the incorrect door where the OPEN sign glares from the street) & navigated my way almost to the parts area; the lady in the office accepted my greeting (coming from her computer desk to the invoice window) & directed me to go about 6 more feet & talk with someone who could help me.

I said ""Good Morning"" as I walked in, to everyone standing, but only one customer returned my cheery disposition. When it was my turn to approach the desk; ""boom"" without warning; the parts guy behind the desk interrupts me mid-sentence turns & answers the phone, instead of serving the customer standing right in front of him. Did he say ""excuse me"" of course not! I expected it based on the reviews.

Despite the level of customer service/communication, the best thing he did was educate me about my plumbing problem after listening and viewing the photo. He offered some advice to be careful disassembling it potentially destroying the mechanism to avoid need to be completely replaced. He said ""come back and we'll get you fixed up.""

I appreciate the knowledgeable staff and I was able to describe my issue to an actual plumber so i could get a quote for about how much it would be to fix it. Now this photo I posted is on their desk so thanks for using it to help me. That was worth it!

Sorry folks, should of written years ago. Remer is forever on my ""shit list"". I went and wanted some info for a plugged up bathroom drain, fat older man at the counter said it was ""probably ""a bad drain and being cast iron, would have to be replaced "" looking at at least $1,500"". Turns out I go to Home Depot, told me that there is a cap underneath the pipe that can be drained & I would be able to clean the clog. WORKED!! replaced cap too with a more efficient one, and it only cost me $5. Remers?? Never will ever consider these clowns again. BEWARE foks.

Believe all of the negative reviews! Check Google's too! These people have zero people skills & their customer service is a very bad joke! Customer beware! I had a TERRIBLE experience & want everyone to know & be forewarned!

I think if you're getting a commercial job done, they're fine since I think that's where all their attention is these days. But if it's a residential job, don't bother. I had my bathrooms renovated less than four years ago and the toilet in one of the bathrooms is leaking already. This is the second time that I've had to have the toilet looked at and, for the price they charge, to have this many issues in under four years is ridiculous. I can see why they are getting these bad reviews given this quality of work.

Bait and switched!
Hot water heater was leaking everywhere on a Saturday morning. Called two plumbing companies and got quotes for emergency service. Remer Plumbing was one of them.
Was quoted $175 for the first hour and $37.50 for every Qtr hour after that. Estimated time of 3.5 - 4.5 hours. I thought this was high but they could come right away so I said yes.
A Tech came and confirmed that the water heater would need to be replaced but couldn't get a new one until Tuesday when his parts guy was back. He told me that I could go to Lowe's and buy one myself, and he'd replace it. So I did just that.
I bought the new unit and he came back and replaced it. He said he would have someone return to drain the old one and remove it for me. I told him that I would drain it myself and dispose of it.
The tech worked very efficiently and was on may property about 2 hours. And I think he did a good job.
Then I got the bill ! I paid $500 for a 50 gallon heater at Lowe's and expected a bill from Remer for just under $500. The bill was for almost $1,100 ! That would be $1,600 for a new water heater! Found out I was quoted weekday rates for weekend work besides what seems to be a ""padded"" bill with 4.5 hours logged.
Consumer Beware!!!

Absolute worst customer service. The owners and staff are rude and condescending and act as if they don't care if they have your business or not. Had to have the tech come out repeatedly for the same problem, which they never fixed correctly. Will not do business with them again.
