Got a water heater replaced by Reliant, no complaints about the end results, but the price was way high, 2200 bucks to put in a $500 water heater that the guy went to HD to buy and then took the guy 2 hours to replace. I was in a bind for time, so I did it, but just trying to figure out how you get a 1700 labor charge for putting in a water heater with no major install issues. Also, didn't haul off the old water heater. And I had to help the guy get the old WH off the stand and put the new one up. After reading similar low rated reviews seems like my experience was not unique, these guys overcharge a lot.

This is the 3rd time we've used Reliant Plumbing. They are great!
Scott was our technician today and re-chaulked two bathroom sinks.

He's always on-time and courteous. We just love that we get a text message with a real-time tracking of the technician on their way.

We don't look forward to plumbing issues, but look forward to working with Reliant Plumbing!

Total rip off. Didn't fix the problem. Simple clog that we got another plumber to fix. He charged $170 and these guys charged over $700. Didn't return calls or offer to come back to fix the problem when it happened again within 24 hours of their visit. They didnt stand behind their work and the price was totally exorbitant for what little they did. Never again.

I had a water emergency over a holiday weekend and Reliant was the only plumber available to come out on short notice. We had a leak in a main pressurized irrigation line (that we originally thought was the water main). The plumber they sent could have realized this (as I could have) and just shut off the owner valve for the irrigation. At that point, problem solved, I pay the service fee and we're all happy... Instead he tried to upcharge me to put in that valve (that already existed), charged us $1800 to fix the original leak... but caused another in the process. They then wanted another $800 to fix the leak they caused. I spoke to the owner and we came to an agreement that he would pay to get the smaller second leak fixed (I estimated $550-600)... which led to multiple phone calls and emails. The owner then accused me of lying and attacked my character... then attacked the character of the person who came out to repair the pipe his plumber cracked.

If you are looking to get stressed out for months after your "repair" and dealing with incompetent people coming to your home, and incompetent people managing those people... you've found your plumber. I believe this was theft and them taking advantage of me and my pregnant wife. There is also a complaint about this on the BBB. Their response is absolute fabrication. Avoid at all costs unless you are in dire need of additional stress.

2018 Update:

They were our go-to plumbers for a couple of years. I don't have any complaints with the quality of their work, but their prices seem to have gone up to the point where I am no longer comfortable hiring them for small-medium jobs.

$90 trip charge that would be applied to repair is more than fair but $387 to replace a screw on hose bib? Their website advertises quality and affordable plumbing services.....really? Do yourself a favor (wish I had) and read the reviews to see exactly how affordable they are. Will never make this mistake again. Complete rip off artists avoid at all costs

CONSUMER BEWARE!  My husband called Reliant Plumbing of Lakeway on April 26, 2018 for a water leak that we suspected was in the slab.  The plumber arrived with an estimate of $4789, husband agreed and credit card charged.

Unfortunately, our suspicions were correct - the leak was in the slab in the line to the kitchen sink. However, the plumber was able to reroute the line through the attic. No concrete was torn up and no major repairs were required.

We called Reliant Plumbing on April 27, 2018 requesting to talk to the owner to discuss a reassessment of the original $4789 charge since the problem did not require significant labor, materials or time to fix the problem.  It took them between 4 - 4.5 hours to detect/fix the leak.

Subsequent phone calls were made to Reliant Plumbing of Lakeway on May 3 and May 11, again asking to speak to the owner.  The secretary, Jennifer, said they had reviewed our request and determined that the job is a job and the fee stands.  We have yet to hear from the owner - only the secretary.

Wanted them to move my stove gas line approximately 20 inches, so I could get my new oven closer to the wall. They started with a residential pressure test, which sounded perfectly acceptable. Next thing I know I have a gas leak somewhere in my house and the guy asks if I've been smelling gas, the answer is no. Work can not be completed until the gas leak is resolved, he says, which sounded perfectly acceptable. Tells me it'll cost $850 to find the leak and they may have to cut into my walls. The guy with 20 years experience leaves with the trainee for supplies. When they get back I tell them the gas dryer valve was not shut off when they did their test - guess where the leak was? So, either they were trying to scam me for an additional $850, or they don't understand people own gas dryers, but he asked me about my wood fireplace three times. So, now they can do the work I requested & when they were done with that they installed a new in-line shut off valve and ten inches down the line, installed my 20 year old in-line shutoff valve, which would have pushed my oven back out three inches into the kitchen. I told them I did not want that and the veteran told me that it was re-installed for the last pressure test. At this point I just wanted them to leave. Why would you have two valves 10 inches apart?! Then the guy couldn't re-light the one year old water heater. After letting him struggle for five minutes I told him I'd get it later - he happily got to his feet and that was that. After I re-lit my gas water heater, after bleeding the line for two seconds, I went to home depot to get the correct pipe dope and remove that old shut-off valve and attach the correct end piece. This place is a sick joke and talk about expensive!
