They got assigned to us through home warranty company to repair the broken AC. 2weeks after we sent a claim finally scheduled to come in one Friday, it was no show?. After I complained to our warranty company, someone finally came following Tuesday. They went for replacing ?the unit. The technician told me that his company will send the report to our warranty company that day or the latest next day(wednesday). Thursday afternoon the warranty company said they haven't recieved any report yet. We called, they don't answer?we left message more than twice, they don't return a call...
Very rude and unprofessional, the worst experience even within the contractor through warranty company. Who knows how long we will be without AC...

Reliance Home Comfort worked with my warranty company to resolve issues with both of my air conditioning units which stopped working at the same time. I was originally assigned two different companies, neither of which expressed the ability to even assess the problems until months later. We had gone a few weeks with no air conditioning. Reliance Home Comfort provided an honest assessment of the problems and options for resolving the problems that would provide fast, but efficient relief. They worked quickly to secure a day and time and the team worked diligently to diagnose an unexpected issue that required several team members to work well beyond the expected time frame to ensure that the units were replaced and working. All of my questions were answered (and even my mom's questions). The entire team was professional, knowledgeable and patient. My whole family is appreciative of the quality of work that was done and the willingness of the team to stay the course until we had relief.

I received a call from a ""Mr. Derrick Valentine"" of ""Reliance Home Comfort"" and he came out and looked at my A/C unit and immediately detected the two issues with my A/C unit. Mr. Valentine repaired the leak, pressure test the system, evacuate it down to 500 microns and recharged the system by providing 6lbs of refrigerant. Turned on my A/C unit and it was running like ""A smooth operator."" And the repair cost was so, so, so affordable I couldn't believe it.

Go ahead and call Reliance Home Comfort of Hampton VA and ask for Derrick Valentine...And, get this, not only is he an expert, he Mentors young adults teaching them how to repair A/C units, what more could anyone ask for !!!!!.

I wrote this review not only to share my story but, to express my heartfelt gratitude for the superb service, professionalism, efficiency and most importantly Honesty, all provided by Mr. Valentine.

I've worked with this company for over 4 years. Derick (the owner) does phenomenal work. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of HVAC, plumbing, etc but his team is very smart about all of these things as well. Over the last 4 years I've pad Derick $$thousands for his work and have only been impressed. Even more impressive is that all of the work he has done has been on my Norfolk rental home, and I live in California. I've actually never met him in person! But he is trustworthy and reliable from 3000 miles away. My property manager keeps me informed about him and his team and has verified his work for me. I highly recommend this company and team.

This was what my thermostat was reading during the recent heatwave. I had 2 other companies come out and say I needed a new unit. A friend suggested I call Reliance and eventually I did. They were courteous, professional and most important, honest. They didn't try to sell me a unit, and were able to fix it! If we could give this company more stars, we would. We live out of state and have a house in Norfolk and have to deal with a lot of issues as it is older. This company--(Derrick and Justin)- have been absolutely wonderful. They do the most thorough and best work and are VERY reliable. We have complete confidence to know they are taking care of everything as we cannot be there ourselves. We will only use them for HVAC, etc. needs as we know it will be the best work. We've dealt with numerous companies over the years and the customer service, quality of work and professionalism of RHC cannot be beat- they are the best!!!

Can you give 0 stars? I placed a claim through First American on Saturday, April 29th. I left Reliance a voicemail the same day but assumed they didn't answer calls over the weekend, which is understandable. I followed up first thing Monday morning and talked to a gentleman who said he would put us on the schedule for Tuesday, May 2nd and that someone would call us the night before and give us a 3-hour window, and then would call us on Tuesday when they were an hour out. Awesome, sounds good to me.

It is now noon on Tuesday, May 2nd and I have yet to hear from anyone. No call on Monday evening to give us a 3-hour window. No call today. Not a single call. I have called 5 or 6 times today and spoken to a woman who is absolutely the least helpful person on the planet. She can't tell me when I'm on the schedule or even if I'm on the schedule. She tells me she can't contact the techs. Then she tells me she can. Another hour passes with nothing so I call back. She says ""I emailed the tech"". You emailed him? Do you think he's answering emails while he's installing a compressor somewhere? Seriously. Cut to the chase, someone has been sitting at home all day because we have no clue when or if someone will show up today. Not to mention it was 85 yesterday and 80 today with no AC.

This is just plain ridiculous. I am a real estate agent and be rest assured I will never, ever, ever recommend Reliance to anyone. In fact, I am going to call the regional director for First American and let them know of this issue as well. If this is the level of service that Reliance intends to provide, hopefully First American will pull them from their list of vendors.

Reliance Home Comfort was contracted by our home warranty company to diagnose, repair or replace our busted water heater. Our water heater was completely toast, so it needed replacing. Under our home warranty, we had to order a water heater that would then be shipped to a warehouse nearby. Reliance Home Comfort stayed contacted the home warranty company, and the shipping company to expedite our water heater. When it came in 2 days later, Derrick was there to remove the old water heater, replace outdated piping, and install the new water heater. I had a few hours to get to know him and his business, and I was very impressed. Former military, now teaches HVAC classes at a nearby college, and he's a Class A contractor. He gave me tons of home renovation advice while he installed the water heater. I will be using him indefinitely for all of the work outside of our home warranty. Great job guys.

As a single woman, I am always worried about having to hire companies to do things for me if it's something I'm not familiar with. (guy stuff) I try to take a male friend when I need auto repairs done, and when possible, only use references from those I trust when getting work done in my home.

I was referred to reliance home comfort by a friend who knows one of the owners. They showed up and gave me an estimate and encouraged me to get other estimates. Which of course I did. I chose to go with them and I'm glad I did. I've hired other contractors for small stuff before and they can be condescending and flat out lie. These guys treated me with respect and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. They are a small company so I had to wait a few days for an appointment but I was happy when they were done.
