A longtime local resident recommended Reliable Plumbing & Heating Services to me when I recently needed a furnace cleaning. Nicole was great at scheduling me for the next day and offered a fall cleaning discount. Steve came out exactly on time and was very pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient, and helpful. I will definitely call them again, if needed, and ask for Steve.

Within 90 minutes of an email exchange via yelp I had their office dispatching someone and they were out to our house. Aaron took his time and totally went above and beyond to clear our pipe out the street. He cleaned up the front/ area where he pumped and made sure that everything was good to go. UPDATE (1/4/2017): Shelly of Reliable Plumbing reached out to me and we had a discussion about my expectations, the services and warranties that come with the $2800 water heater. The water heater comes with 10 years' maintenance and warranty. So the annual fee I was paying for flush/service is now included. Great! That saves me about $125/year. I believe this is transferable to the new owner (that's what our Reliable technician explained to me but I'll have to check my warranty papers and will update this review once I do).

Shelly further explained that the technician sincerely believed I would have hot water for the night and they are truly sorry for the inconvenience. I'm a reasonable person and understand that we can't always control outcomes and it would seem in this case, the technician made a fair assessment but unfortunately the end result was unexpected (and inconvenient for me).

In the end, I have a fabulous new water heater with an exceptional warranty (fingers crossed) and I've decided to keep with Reliable Plumbing & Heating so they'll be back later this year for our annual water heater & furnace check up/service.

All's well that ends well. Thank you to Shelly and the good folks at Reliable for reaching out to me and making things right. Appreciatively!

ORIGINAL post (12/7/2016):

The 50 gallon water heater replacement cost $2769. Sure it came with a 10-year warranty, but for the cost I could've bought two!

My appointment was rescheduled twice, and ""Reliable"" showed up on day 3. The rescheduling caused me to re-arrange my work schedule three times to allow for that 2 to 4 hour window required.

The appointment required a return visit. I was left without hot water for the night and without warning. Bird bath for me and couldn't wash my hair. Washed my face in cold water. Terrible.

Ultimately got a new water heater but with much inconvenience and cost. Expected better from Reliable. I received their thank you card. Apparently whoever completes those cards has no idea about the actual customer experience. There was no apology or awareness of my dissatisfaction, though I called twice to express both items. Hope next year's plumber (may use different company) will do better. I've used Reliable for over 4 years. What a shame this last experience was so deeply disappointing.

I have been using Reliable for years now. I always call them to install gas lines for my generator installs, refer them to customers when they have leaky pipes or even heating issues and they always deliver. Their communication is unmatched and always on time. They could not have picked a better name for themselves to describe their actions. I will always refer reliable plumbing and heating.

I had the same problem as another customer. My main line needed a snake. The access holes were open. All they needed to do was come and run a snake. It was a quick visit and cost $328 ($59 for the visit plus $269 for the snake). It worked for a few days then clogged again. I later learned that the problem was they did not put a blade on the end of the snake which would have cut out fine roots. I called again on Memorial Day and was told the charge would be $438 to come and do it again. Instead I called Roto-Rooter who charged a total of $165 on Memorial Day. Roto-Rooter used a blade on the snake which cleaned out the fine tree roots and solved the problem.

Both companies were very courteous, but Roto-Rooter went a step further by adding the blade and charged less than 1/2 the price for exactly the same job.

Reliable came to my house to snake my main line which was over $300 and it fixed the problem for 24 hours. I called them again to come out and when they did, they claim I wasn't home but I was. I called again for service and they came out when I told them I have a major job for them. (major job=lots of money) I thought this business would have loved to take my job. When the technician came he said he would have the manager contact me. Since my issue involves waste collecting on the side of my house, I figured the manager would call me right away to get this set up. I waited and didn't get a call. Finally when I called their office, the manager answered. Doesn't seem like this place wants my money or a good review.

This was my first experience with Reliable Plumbing. I wish I had known about them before. They serviced my heater, ( access is under the house), and there was no extra charge or complaints for having to go under the house. They were professional from the initial phone call to completion of the work. Customer service called to give me a half hour notice as promised. Very satisfied and will definitely call them for any future work!

The fan on my furnace stopped working over the weekend. On Monday morning I called Reliable Plumbing and Heating around 8:30 AM for an appointment for a service call. The telephone was answered promptly by a very courteous person, I believe her name was Shellie (sorry if that is spelled wrong), who promised to have a technician to us by the afternoon. Good to her word she called mid afternoon and said that Technician Brandon was on the way.

Brandon diagnosed the problem and said he needed to order a part, but the part should be in within a few days and he would come right out and fix the problem. He was very polite and courteous, even apologized when he gave us the quote, which was reasonable by the way, we signed the contract. He did not ask for the service call fee when he left.

First thing Thursday morning Reliable called and said Brandon was on the way with the part for our furnace. He not only did the repair but he cleaned the furnace and filters and included the initial visit fee within the final bill so we only had to pay once.

Reliable Plumbing and Heating was fast, courteous, reasonably priced and as I live in Seaside I was happy to support a local business. I will definitely call them for any needs in the future.
