First let me say I have had Reliable install a new whole house HV/AC unit, as well as a new tankless water heater. For both of those jobs our quote and install went very smoothly. The team arrived on time, installed everything exactly like I expected, and answered questions and communicated what they were doing very well. So, naturally based upon prior service, I called them to install a Mini-Split Cassette in my home. The sales representative arrived on time, and we walked through the entire process and what would be needed. The quote was approximately 4 times the cost of the unit, but I understand there was a lot of work involved so I signed the contract. On June 8th the day of the installation, no one showed at the scheduled time, so I called them later in the day. I was told the parts didn't arrive so they couldn't install the unit. I would think Reliable would call me to tell me this vs me having to call them. We rescheduled the installation for June 15th and the technicians arrived only to tell me the unit wouldn't fit between the ceiling joists, and they couldn't install it until I made modifications to the ceiling for the unit to fit. Here again, I would think Reliable would know the vast majority of home have wall studs and ceiling joist on 16"""" center so of course a 23"""" unit wouldn't fit. The technician informed me that once I made the modification to the ceiling they could come back and do the installation. At that time, I informed the Reliable sales representative Ian of what had happened, and he informed me that Bruce, the Installation Manager, would call me to verify what was needed. A week went by, and no one contacted me, so on June 22 I called the main office again, and after explaining what had happened, the customer service representative assured me that Bruce would return my call that day. NO CALL BACK. I called a week later on June 29th, and again I was assured that Bruce would return my call that day...and once again....a week went by with ....NO CALL BACK. I called again a week later on July 6th, and again I was assured that Bruce would return my call that day.....again.... NO CALL BACK. I called July 7th...... was assured that Bruce would return my call that day. ....NO CALL BACK. So, I am thinking maybe I just need to schedule another home visiting to discuss the installation again. I scheduled the home visit for July 8th between 10 and 12. I received an immediate text confirmation that the Reliable Representative would be arriving on July 8th between 10 and 12. To my amazement the representative was just a """"No Show"""", and I received No Text, No Call. Unfortunately, It's obvious after 30 days of being ignored I have to believe that """"Reliable"""" heating and air is no longer Reliable, and they need to change their name.
Amanda R.This is hands down the worst company I have ever had an experience with. We leased to own an air conditioner unit and have been trying since 2020 to have someone send us our statement so we can just close out the account. We were told they don't keep running statements for the convenience of the customer and when we pushed for them to still send it they said they would with no follow up. We are moving and now need this information quickly to have this paid off. We have tried an exhausting number of times to get someone to even answer us that can help us. Management can spare us the answer of reaching out to the member services email because we have done this with no answer.
I confirmed my email with the sales person and he said he said he had the correct one and was backed up and would get it out. I heard nothing after a bother follow up a day later so I went with another company. Then after I posted the review I received multiple reasons I did not receive the quote 1) wrong email, 2) I need to check spam. Also I asked for a quote for a 4 ton and never received the quote. Stop trying to manage your reviews and do better next time.
We have been with this company since it started. The owner put in our first replacement unit. My understanding is they have been bought out. I've been a LOYAL customer for over 20 years and am now retired and on a fixed income and told them this through some chit chat. They then thanked me for being a loyal customer and then proceeded to attempt highway robbery. They said the unit need replacing, a simple 2.5 ton unit and coil. and gave me two quotes (which they refused to put in writing.) he wrote a few things on a pad of paper and allowed me to take a picture. He said if you pay cash it will be $9300 or you can make payments, he said its something they do for their customers and that there is no interest. he pymts will be $119 mo. blus extra for filters or what not for 10 mos. I thought great until I added up total payments. When I did this he knew it was over and I showed him and his English accent the door. Making payments it came up to $11,519. He didn't tell us this was the total or write this down on his pad of paper until I arbitrarily added it up myself. I'd call this interest. If this is how they treat a customer of 20 yrs. then I feel sorry for their new customers. I then got a quote for $3800 from another company.
With a name like Reliable you would hope they would deliver - THEY DO NOT. I waited over 2 hours for a plumber they told me was on his way. I called 5 times and each time I was told the plumber would be reaching out. Never did. Will never use them again.
I'm a long time Reliable heating and air customer. I scheduled an appointment for my semi annual maintenance for the two units I bought from them. I was given a date but not a time for service. The maintenance technician called me at 1:20pm today and I was told that he was in the area. I called the company back at 4:30pm when he still hasn't showed up or accepted any return calls. I was told that the next appointment was three weeks from now. Thanks but no thanks! What ever happened to customer service?
This company cannot be trusted. My thermostat to my downstairs HVAC was not working so I was assuming the thermostat got hit by one of the many power serge's we get through storms. I had lost the one upstairs about 3 years ago and had COOLRay come and they checked everything and it was just the thermostat. Long story short, I called RELIABLE to come and check out the problem. The first thing the guy told me was it would be $199 just replace the Thermostat and he checked the unit up in the attic and let me know a fuse was blown. He told me he replaced the fuse and went outside to check unit outside. He comes back in and told me it was the mother board. He sent a quote to my email which totaled $1560 ($920 was the mother board). I did not go for that and got a second opinion with my old HVAC people DSC Heating & Air Conditioning INC, Bethlehem, GA where I used to live (a small company). Scott came out and checked everything and it was the fuse (there was no fuse in it like the guy from RELIABLE told me he replaced) and a part called a CONTACTER NOT the mother board. Total cost for everything $240. Scott is very honest. DO NOT USE RELIABLE!!! They will try and rip you off. I had to pay a service fee of $89.95 to RELIABLE for just coming out. I want my money back!
Hometown H.Horrible, horrible, horrible! They continue to fail me when it comes to service. Do not believe the salesman when they say you are a priority customer when you pay extra for their maintenance plan. I was made to wait 5 days to get my AC repaired in July, it took 3 weeks to get my furnace repaired in December / January. Today I had a service call between noon - 4pm. No call, no show. I called customer service at 4pm and they said the technician would call me. I called customer service again at 4:30 and got the same answer. They are looking to get out of work on Friday afternoon, to hell with the customer. Do not use this company!
They came out and did work in Jan 2021. Paid them on the spot as is their policy. Then 27 months later, I got a bill collector from C2C calling me and saying I owe for the bill. Because C2C is known for being """"aggressive"""" with credit reports, I paid it again thinking it would be easier to talk to Reliable and get it refunded. They can't find any paperwork. They have no copy of my signed invoice saying the work was done. They have no emails or letters they would have to send to me if it was really late. All I they have is an accounting guy telling me he has no emotions about it one way or the other. The new management is a bunch of corporate flunkies. Stay away from these guys in my opinion. I saw other reviews like this elsewhere. They have poor bookkeeping in my opinion. They can send a two-year-old bill to collections with no phone calls, no past due notes, nothing. Horrible!
I'm so mad I didn't research this company. Got a new HVAC installed today, they couldn't complete the service because they didn't have the right pipe for my furnace. Technician said I would still have hot water well come to find out later that night I did not. So I was left with no heat or hot water. Called the emergency line and couldn't get a technician out. So unacceptable.
