They installed a new heating unit in the basement. They did not put the unit in a drip pan. this is standard practice and the unit next to this one already had one so it wouldn't take much to realize that this should be done. After having them out to reassess i never heard back. Now there is a leak and no drip pan which is ruining the flooring in the basement. I called them again and they want $300 to add a drip pan to the unit / fix the installation they cut corners on. Seems like a minor deal that they would want to fix to keep a customer happy. I would not use them again.

Repair a leaking fitting on hot water heater $7.00 in parts 30 min repair and charged me $360.00 that's $357.00 dollars an hour won't be using them on any of my commercial or residential service calls again. Way over priced for that type of repair

I called to request an emergency visit and the woman who answered my call was very understanding and helpful and sent out Jim Rears who took care of the problem immediately and could not have been nicer!

Before I purchased a home, my inspector recommended that I have the AC serviced/repaired. Seller agreed and Reliable came out and performed $460 worth of repairs, maintenance and an inspection. I was told that everything was repaired, in working order and reviewed the invoice. Less than a month after the repairs the AC is not working...same components that were checked, cleaned, etc are not working. The unit is only 4 years old. You would think that an upwards of $3k repair would be noticeable during their time inspecting it. When the same tech came back to look, he said it was a clogged filter that was caused by construction. There was no construction...I explained that the AC was not working and it was shut off before my carpets were removed (aka """"construction""""). Of course the recent quote lists this despite the fact that it's not true. I was shocked because they are a larger company and seem reputable, but this entire situation feels unethical, dirty, shady and dishonest. Apparently the 30 day service guarantee is not applicable here for some reason?? No one has explained that part to me...Seems convenient that Reliable would push their financing options on a 3k+ repair right after they gave the 4 year old machine a clean bill of health before my closing...how fortuitous.

Scheduled a service call in Aug, tech showed up as a contractor with a Reliable sticker on his truck - barely speaking English. He brought it to my attention that there was a water clog in the attic condensation line (which was about to flood our attic) as water pan was full and clogged. Advised he only changes filters and I would need to reschedule another person to make the corrections. Did this and was told another 3 week before they could schedule our job. Hello, the attic unit was about to flood and I have to wait another 3 weeks. Sent feedback to Reliable, nothing! Called Reliable with my concerns, they have an answering service so you cannot talk to anyone in their offices. Horrible customer service and business name should be Unreliable. Ragsdale is much more professional, on-time and offers great customer service. This is typical of a company (Reliable) that was purchased by a large hedge fund, customer service is nowhere to be found.

I scheduled a maintenance call for mid August, they called and offered an earlier appointment which was great (I thought). After confirming my appointment for Saturday they never showed or called. Not very impressed with their customer service.

On May 17th 2017 a tech named Michael came to my house to give my HVAC system a tune-up. He looked at my system, changed the filter and that was it. My wife paid the bill and when she asked him how the AC looked he replied that it was good. Didn't give any details or any useful information. The invoice that was emailed the next day did not have any useful information. It didn't say anything about the health of my system (compressor, fan, coil health). No information on how much pounds of Freon it had in the system. The AC works good I just want a more engaged company to work for me next time.

I don't come to this review lightly. We used Reliable for almost 15 years and thought we were getting good service. I previously rated them 5 stars. I'll provide details, but I think the problem may be they've gotten too big, too stretched, too profit driven, and not able to maintain quality. Over the years, they have frequently tried to upsell us into additional services or system replacements. We had them install a new AC unit 8 years ago. During installation, they actually removed the wrong unit and then had to reconnect everything. After that, we had to have two service calls to fix malfunctions. Still, we stayed with them for bi-annual - and then annual - service. In October 2017 we had them clean our duct work and dryer vent for $825. At the end of last year, we had a massive leak down to the kitchen which we believed was the primary bathroom toilet upstairs. We called Reliable Plumbing out for the first time and were told it was actually our shower - not the toilet, and all we had to do was re-caulk the shower fixtures. The leak persisted. We called a local plumber who discovered the seal on the toilet was broken and was causing a slow leak. Problem solved. This past March, we had our now-annual service. They said we really needed to replace the downstairs, 21-year old AC unit. We said ok, and they arranged for someone to come out the next day. Before even looking at the system, the salesman tried to convince us to essentially rent a new system for a monthly fee. When I asked what happens when we sell the house and learned the additional cost we would have to pay, I realized it was not a financially sound proposition. He then went about his business and said we would have an estimate the next day - which would include putting a new unit upstairs - including furnace - and switching the 8-year-old unit to downstairs. I'm still waiting for that estimate 5 months later. Fast forward to early August. I thought I started smelling mold or mildew. I wanted someone to check it out but did not want to use Reliable since they never gave us our estimate. We also had decided perhaps we needed to find a new AC company. A neighbor recommended a small company. They came out and discovered massive mold in the upstairs evaporator coil, plenum, and duct work. He also said he could feel cold air coming out at the seals where the duct work entered the plenum. I asked if that could have happened since March. He said in his professional opinion - no. He said it didn't look like the evaporator coil had ever been serviced. I did note that in the paperwork I got in March from Reliable, the 17-point AC check includes the following: 12. Measure and record temperature drop across evaporator coil (inside). 13. Check evaporator coil for level for proper drainage (inside). 17. Inspect ductwork for proper installation and sealed (inside). It appears none of this was likely done for years. I'm now faced with a potential insurance claim, needing to get the system professionally cleaned by a mold remediation company, and replacing all my upstairs duct work at substantial cost. Not to mention the potential health hazard it presents. I resolved never to use Reliable again. Then, I got mad because there is still two years parts and labor left on the 8-year old unit. I called their office Aug 19 and let them know my concerns. As usual, the phones reps were wonderful and polite. I said I think this needed a supervisor, and I was directed to someone's voice mail that was so full it could not take messages. The system hung up on me. I called back and spoke to an equally polite customer service rep. She took down copious notes of my concerns and said she would send it to a supervisor who typically gets right back to folks. It is now Sunday, August 29. and I am still waiting for a call back. I usually don't write negative reviews. I figure I will just never use a company again, but perhaps this will get someone's attention, and they will realize there is something systemically wrong at the company.

Problems all around. The woman I made the appointment with scoffed at me when I asked if they could come out that day or the following one. Very rude. Customer service could use a big improvement. Of course I had to wait 4 days to get someone out. Of course he never called me to give me a heads up that he was 30 minutes away (as promised). The repairman shows up and bangs on my BACK door. I was hesitant to open it because it was some guy in a dirty white t-shirt (NO UNIFORM). I only opened it because I saw the Reliable truck in the driveway. After checking out the unit for a whole 30 seconds, he recommends that I spend $1,800 to replace the coil. Now, he can't tell me where the leak is because he """"left his equipment on a different job!"""" He expected me to shell out $1,800 on the spot to replace a coil and didn't even know which one (there are two), but assumed it was the attic coil because """"that's normally where the leak is."""" Then he told me I'd essentially be an idiot to just put freon into the unit, knowing it'll just fall out. He was condescending, short and I certainly did not appreciate how he just walked in and out of the house like he owned it. Never again will I be calling Reliable for my A/C needs.
