Daniel's career at Reliable Heating & Air started in his youth, where he was involved in duct cleaning, service, and installation roles. Upon graduating from college, he rejoined the team in sales and design, learning the skills needed to take over the company as Dan hands it down to the next generation.
Daniel's journey with Reliable began in 1999 at the age of 14, riding along with his father, Dan Jape, to assist customers with their heating and cooling needs. Since that time, he has experienced every role at Reliable, gaining an in-depth understanding of the business. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a minor in Marketing from Reinhardt University. Baseball played a significant role in his life during his childhood and teenage years, from being part of a scholar team to having a hitting facility named in his honor (Daniel Jape Hitting Facility), making his father proud. After graduation, he continued to excel, receiving Reinhardt's 10 Under 10 Award, which honors the top 10 alumni for their achievements in business, military, and nonprofit sectors. He resides in North Cherokee County with his wife and their two beautiful daughters. During his leisure time, he likes weightlifting, boating, playing baseball, and enjoying moments with his daughters.

I have a warranty but cannot schedule a maintenance call. the first time, they cancelled the service call one day before because via automated message because they had too many emergency calls. I was told to wait until August via automated message. I call back two weeks later, and am told that I need to wait until September because other people """"don't have air """". if you can't service emergencies and maintenance at the same time, you probably shouldn't be in business.

WARNING: Reliable is not so reliable. I was very excited to have my new unit installed today, only to come home and find a disaster! Techs arrived around 9:15AM and left around 8:00 PM. This was because they tried keep promise about next day service, but they arrived without equipment. Their boss and the equipment place ignored updates for their getting whatever they needed, leaving then stranded and confused. My security cameras revealed one tech taking a nap on my property. It also revealed a huge pile of trash they left in my front and back yard while they left for a lunch break or to chase after equipment. Nobody thought to contact me nor update me on why my family and I were without air for almost 12 hours. I attempted to reach out, however the staff was rude and made broken promises that a return call would happen. I never received a call. I still haven't spoken with anyone regarding this since this review. All things promised in the contract were not received. This includes finished job for next day service (after signed contract), wifi thermostat and 2 other things. Crews will have to return on Monday to finish the job. Be very careful of the $9999.00 deal, a 4-5 thousand dollar increase will be added after deal is made. Be careful of the 3 things free things there'll ask you to pick from, you don't pick the salesman do that part for you. A huge hole is showing in my wall, so they poorly patched it with junk findings, glue and parts. It looks so bad. How will this unit last for years with escaping air from hole and glue? Besides, I just had my house painted, this will not fly with me. It's just not $15,000 worth of work. On top of it all, the house is not cooling properly. COME GET THIS CRAP NOW!!!!!! I'd like to cancel them, hire another company and I'd love for them to give me back my old, but working unit. They were very quick to haul that off. They never asked if I wanted it. I'm very disappointed in this company!

I'm really sorry to read all these negative reviews about Reliable. I used them about 12/14 years ago to replace my heat pump system. 10 year warrantee, bi-annual (spring/fall) check. I never paid for one repair/replacement part (and there were many, bad year for Trane Manufacturing). I did pay an annual charge (minimal, less than $150/ for the two service calls....think it was like $125 for 2). I never paid for freon or anything other than annual service charge. They even replaced my filters. When I say bad year for Trane, it was a VERY BAD YEAR. I can't even begin to express the parts (major parts) Reliable replaced and all was at n/c. So bad people I know that went with Lennox instead. Overall my Trane system has been great, never would have known defects if not brought to my attention. Who knows? I'm not a tech..............Quiet, doesn't blow me out of a room noise wise, mid range energy efficient (how efficient can a heat pump actually be). My electric summer/winter well under $200 - highest been 159.00, even last year 5 degree temps north of Atlanta, Ga. But I'm also Old School..............if you're cold put some clothes, socks, shoes, sweater on. If it wasn't for my cathedral ceiling in living area it wouldn't even be that. Unfortunately, I referred my neighbor today to Reliable for a Trane system (2 actually, 2 story home). I'll have to advise her of the reviews I found researching my filter size (can't find my paperwork). I understand the Japes sold the business, perhaps why all the negative reviews................growing pains................. I can't be a testament to new ownership, but I will take it to heart when I do call for service from now on. My rating is based on the OLD RELIABLE. NO EXPERIENCE WITH THE NEW

Please stay away from this trashy disgusting company. The installers failed to cap a wire on my dampers, they broke my light globe and never reimbursed me for the damages, and they even spit sunflower seeds on my attic floor. Filthy and unreliable. I will update with pics!

I signed up for the monthly service for both my HVAC units in November, 2021. It wasn't until March, 2022 that the first service appointment was done, but only on my furnaces, not my a/c units because it was raining that day. The technician said he would have them call me to reschedule for the A/C unit service. No one called, one day in Mid April (one month later) I received a call from a technician saying """"he was on his way"""" to my house, only problem was I wasn't home and had no idea he was coming! I called immediately to Reliable Heating and Air to reschedule and was told they would """"have someone call me to reschedule"""", which they never did. I called again the next week and the next and no return call. I then went online and requested service and never got a response from that request. After waiting over 6 weeks and no call, no email, no text, I decided to cancel my monthly service agreement. I have literally called 4 times now to try to CANCEL as you cannot cancel online and have left 4 more messages each month, and each time I am told """"someone will call you to get this done for you"""" ...no one EVER calls! I am calling my credit card card company now to stop the monthly charges and dispute the last 6 months of charges as I have not had ANY response to ANY of my online requests or calls. This company is truly AWFUL...do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Con artists don't have anything on them! And, I am filing a complaint with the GA Consumer Protection Division to get back every penny I have given them for absolutely ZERO service in the last 6 months.

After making an appointment for Air conditioner service... (Short Cycling) The 1st. Appointment available was 8 days away... after patiently waiting the 8 days in Sweltering 90 degree heat... finally my appointment day has arrived... while looking forward to cooling air....thinking relief was in sight... You guessed it....NO SHOW!!! NO CALL....NO TEXT.... NO ONE ANSWERING THE PHONE... I spoke with their answering service 4 times today... They assured me someone would get in touch with me.... Nothing... Your name is a lie... NOT RELIABLE Is more appropriate... My Business will go elsewhere... ZERO STARS! Amendment..... I did receive an e-mail at 9:42 pm. Saying a technician was en-route, I was up and awake until Midnight, No one knocked on my door!!!! No one Showed up!!! I did reply to said e-mail stating """" Sending a technician out at this hour is unacceptable"""" And its a shady way of covering your incompetence....... Your Technician never Knocked on MY door so in my book he never showed Up!!! It no longer matters I've hired another company to Handle my air conditioning situation. You're Fired!!!!

Dacula, GA I had this company come out today to check my furnace, i regret letting this company into my home. The technician is absolutely useless , 6 hrs have no clue what he was doing , broke a part of the furnace and pack up his tools and leave even with the part that he broke , didn't put nothing back . I called the Reliable to complain and got NO response from them. Please don't USE this company. You will be throwing your money into the sea.

I'm a small business owner and had an issue with my unit. I called reliable Tech came out and change a wire in the unit charged me 800$ and did no other work. I was very upset and called customer service about the charge. The tech called me back and said """"I did more work than change a wire, hmmm no you didn't you changed a wire and stood at your van on a phone call for 45 mins. I paid for your 45 min phone call. This is very sad to rip out a small business owner during these hard times.

These guys are not trustworthy. Tech came out filled up my unit then sent an invoice saying my unit was leaking and I declined a leak test. Why would I fill up a unit knowing it will just leak out? The tech also tried to get me to pay him under the table. Response to company reply. Ummm the tech who came out the third time told me what I should have been told the first time. Don't use these guys they just scam you to get more money.

UPDATE: After being given an estimate of $2400.00 to do the work suggested to fix the problem, we sought estimates from other companies since our warranty only covers the unit and not any ducts. We were able to have the problem resolved for only $350.00. Thank you to the companies that are not out to do unnecessary work, but to do what needs to be done at a reasonable price. Since Jan. 2020 ther has been a problem with loud air noise when a tech came out and made changes that he stated would improve the efficiency of our system. Finally in May 2021 someone came out to inspect the entire system including vents and ducts. He showed us that the air intake duct was not even in a position to pull air only from the house but is pulling from the crawlspace also. Along with other modifications suggested he led us to believe that all of this would not cost us anything (as we asked several times as to the cost). About 2 weeks later they called to make an appointment to come out to work up an estimate for the work as the only thing covered under our warranty is leveling the air handler. We set an appointment for today, May 27, 2021 with arrival between 10-2. At 9:15 we received a call that they would do the estimate from the techs notes and would not be coming out. When I asked why all of a sudden they could do it from the notes, I was told that they have gotten very busy with the weather that has moved in. I expressed my frustration with this entire situation and was told someone would reach out to me. Then 5 minutes later the person to do the estimate knocks on our door. What the heck? Apparently there is an extreme lack of communication within this company. Not sure where to turn from here other than every time someone comes out I will be with them every second watching and questioning what they do. They send a different tech each time so there must be quite the turnover in employees. Buyer beware!
