I had called them out for a main line sewer clean out. They came out and put a camera in the pipe and said everything was fine. This took maybe 15 minutes total. I had to pay $280.00 for them to tell me everything was okay.
I understand that I would have to pay for a service call, but they really didn't do much. When I called the office for an explanation of the pricing; they were not helpful.
In the future, I would recommend another plumbing company that is fair and reasonable in their pricing for the services that they provide.
My kitchen sink was draining slow. I had called and made an appt. My sink ended up clogged prior to my appt. I called and they were able to come out that same day. The guys were very nice and on time. My only issue was the mess that was left. After working a double I did not think I would come home to the mess that was on my floor, under the sink, and the sink it self.
The price was great. I love the fact that this is a veteran owned company.
I will call again if I ever need a plumber again.
Reliable??? Hmmmmm
Had them disconnect my double sink in preparation for a new single basin sink. Also had them remove the old and install a new faucet, reattach the disposal as well as shorten a gas bib on my range so it would set closer to the wall.
Michael came out both days. Says he's a manager. Nice guy.
Day 1 was fine. Expensive but fine. $195 to remove the sink and cap the pipes.
Day 2 was a mess! Appt was for 3:00. I called at 3:10 or see if they were coming and was told by the girl that answered the phone that Mike had just left his last appt and was on the way. Gonna be about 45 min late. 90 minutes go by and I call the girl back (nobody puts me in touch with Mike). She says he's only 20 min away. Hmmm. I wait another 45 min. By this time I am calling the after hours number and nobody has an answer as to when, if, Mike is coming. They say they will get him a message to call me. Its now 5:30. Nobody has called so its up to me to call again. I'm told they are calling the on-call guy this time see what's going on and also making a note to have the owner call me. Another 30 minutes and nothing!! Its now 3 hours past the appt time.
Mike finally shows about 6:15. Says he never got the message to call me and thought maybe someone from Reliable had called about him being 3 hours late (despite the girl that was tracking his truck telling me he was only a short distance away 2 hours ago). Again, hmmmm! Reliable? Nope
So Mike shows. Gets to work, short time later he tells me he has to leave to get the right parts for the drain because its usually on his truck but not this time. Comes back, completes the job and I am billed a Veteran discontinued rate of another $475 for 3 hours work. That's a total of 4 hours for $670.
It's the morning of the next day. The owner never called last night. Maybe he will today. I'm not RELYING on it!!!
Lisa W.Their office texts you to let you know the guy is coming. Then the guy shows up an hour later and like today when it rains will sit out in your driveway for an hour without explanation. They might also have a supply company drop off supplys at your home at 8 in the morning without asking or telling you. Today after only working for 2 hours they took a lunch break? What they have done is working now and they say they guarentee their work so there is some comfort there. I had to wait with a cklogged kitchen sink drain for about a month for my place in line to open up after the initial visit of two of their techs. Good luck if you hire these people. I can't wait until they are done with my job and hopefully I will never have to see them again.
Charlie G.Had a problem after Sump pump went out. Needed repairs on septic system and basement wall. Est. was for $3339.58 after starting the job my wife when down to the basement (i can't because of COPD), the two guys that was tearing out the old plumbing told her ""We can fix it right for and additional $700."" My wife not knowing anything about plumbing said well it needs fixed. Total cost for the job was $4104.58. During the repairs they cut big chunks of the floor joists and just left it that way. It took two weeks and several phone calls to get them to repair the damage they had caused. If this is the way a ""Veteran"" treats a retired Navy man with 20 plus years... LOOK OUT......
Karen J.I had Reliable replace a sewer line for me a few years ago and they did an excellent job--so I wanted them to replace my storm drain when we had a backup that ruined my garage wall. Although the main part of the job was done well, two things happened that would make me avoid this contractor in the future. If anything goes wrong it appears you are out of luck! Part of the job was routing a storm drain just outside of my garage door. They needed to dig up the concrete across the outside front of my garage. It was January 2019 so it they filled the area with gravel until the concrete work could be completed in the spring 2019. The problem was that they never got around to doing the concrete work that spring or summer even after dozens of calls and emails from me. Finally in October they did the concrete work. And they poured it wrong. So, facing the garage, all of the water was to flow to the right and down a drain. Instead, the right side flows right and the left side flows into the garage!! And it has been like this for 10 months and they haven't gotten to it and they don't seem to care that the they created a water problem worse than the initial problem.
They also were supposed to level and seed the lawn were they worked in January 2019. They didn't get around to doing that until late fall of 2019 as well--I had to replant the grass seed this spring as it was too late for it to establish last year. And it prevented me from asphalting my driveway because they intended to move heavy equipment across it. So they wasted my whole summer in waiting. Now they have done it a second summer.
And one last issue. They replaced the shut off to my water main. After they replaced it, it leaked. I had to call them back 4 or 5 times with leaks and the last time the pipe joint spontaneously fell apart and water was gushing all over the garage. Luckily my husband was in the garage working at his workbench at the time and heard it. And they blamed it on us--that someone moved the pipe. No one moved the pipe. We had some work done a month prior in which the water had to be shut off--but that's what a shut off is to be used for. The bad part is the even though this water main shut off kept having issues, the last time it blew apart was over a year since they first replaced the shut off so we had to pay to have them fix it!! And the plumber that fixed it didn't even know how to turn off the water properly and didn't test that it was off before opening the pipe--so twice he gushed water all over the garage!
And we still have water flowing into our garage after every rain. And to top it off, their project manager blamed me for complaining about it! I may need to contact a lawyer to resolve this as its been a year and 8 months since the project was initially done. I called last week and the owner was supposed to call me a couple of days ago--I'm still waiting.
Worst company I have dealt with for any of my home improvement needs. How my service guy still has a job is beyond me, he was so unprofessional and half did everything. He then not only left a huge mess in my basement before rushing out the door to leave but also used my back door so he could cover up the fact that he used contents from my basement to complete the job instead of his own and took them with him.
Holly K.Just had Mark come over and fix our laundry drain that was backing up. Ended up being a ton of tree roots. He worked really hard and did an excellent job. He was very nice and professional would definitely recommend.
We used them on a property near Clev. They did a good job. Not the cheapest around, but who is plumbing wise @ worst case $100 /hr. for the industry it seems. Their forte I am now told is more technical. 8 AM appt. they showed up at after 8:29 AM. 2 guys were very professional and affable. Saved me some money on some valves that they said didn't necessarily need to be replaced that were 2ndary looks. As an engineer I ALWAYS make my self available to subtley watch/assist /facilitate amiably my contractors. Got Angies List discount (when I asked for it), but still I feel pretty pricey. Trustworthy I felt that day and they did take pics unlike some of my other contractors. (Another plumber I used else where in other town was SH___. t Not even support an expansion tank and lines to south and still $100/hr. or more. )__LESSON learned; research your work and KNOW what should happen per industry guidelines/codes (I do). Have some-one knowlegable inspect it promptly before paying southern contractors or any one period.
Curtis F.Not a fan of this place. We had them out because our water heater wouldn't light and were told it would be a free diagnosis to have them come out and determine what was wrong. Then, once they were there, they wanted $105 to call the water heater manufacturer to have them diagnose it instead. In my mind, a plumber should be able to do that easily. Additionally, they had previously told us that our sump pump needed to be replaced, so when we asked them to speak to our home warranty company, suddenly they backtracked and said they only recommend it. They claim they have no way to test it to be sure whether or not it's working. Again, they said I'd have to call the manufacturer of the sump pump to determine how to test it. It seemed very strange to me that they could not troubleshoot a couple of basic appliances that most homes have. I was very frustrated after my last experience with them and will not be using them again. From what I gather, if you can tell them what you want and what needs to be done, they'll be more than happy to do it. But, repairs and troubleshooting are not their specialty.
