Recommended Customer Reviews
Reismann responded to a no heat call after hours at my parents' home while my
mother was on at-home hospice care. The owner of the company sent a team and personally came to oversee the work. They explained everything well and were quick and efficient with their work. Highly recommend.
I think Reissman Plumbing is one of few companies that ACTUALLY knows the correct way to do things but they don't know how to translate that into profits. They see their shady competitors making more money by doing it the wrong way and taking shortcuts and it gets them mad/depressed/frustrated. So, to stay competitive with the other guys who don't know what they are doing, they charge less and also take shortcuts. It's a sad situation as you can see that it has affected their ratings.
Yelp and other review sites is supposed to change this but it sometimes leads to the opposite as people write fake reviews.
I hired this company and they didn't know that I was an actual technician once in a related field and I saw the shortcuts they took. The work was generally SOLID but they would take small shortcuts to save time and money. I totally understand. They bid low to stay competitive with other companies. Instead, I think they should let those other companies take the job and have them deal with the later mess. Instead, charge more and take less jobs. Explain to the customer why you are more expensive and show the actual part numbers you're using and have them secretly ask the other guy what part they are using. The customer could compare the prices on the internet and see the quality difference.
One bad review can ruin your entire reputation.
Here is one example that I saw happen in this industry. They will take a simple thermocouple replacement and say that the entire gas valve needs to be replaced. Sometimes, they will even turn up the pilot light way up, hoping the thermocouple will get ruined in a year or two (good thermocouples can last 20 years).
I think Reissman need to stick to their guns. Do quality work. Don't take shortcuts. But, charge higher prices. People with more people will pay more for companies that can ensure that the problem will definitely get fixed. Put a guarantee.
Unfortunately, I think a big problem is that Reissman might have ruined their reputation already. Maybe they can make a declaration that they are going to do it right from now on. I don't know.
Very expensive! Beware this company makes mistakes and still bill you for it. They charged me for more hours than they were actually on the job also. A big ripped off!!
Angie L.A couple of months ago, an early cold snap necessitated turning on the heat in our new home. I tasked The Man with getting the boiler fired up. In his haste, he unknowingly pulled a lever he shouldn't have before realizing that he needed to light the pilot to get things going. Unaware of what lay ahead, we settled in for a good night's sleep. Upon waking the next morning, we leisurely enjoyed the Saturday sunlight streaming through the windows before getting out of bed. The first indication of a problem was a lack of water pressure when The Man went to shower. The second indication was the several inches of water filling the lower level of the house when he went to check the water heater. Being completely new to the area, we asked the neighbors if they had a plumber they recommended - and it ended up being Reissmann. As it was still fairly early, we didn't have much hope that we could get someone out to the house for a while, but the person who answered the phone said that he would be there in an hour. To our surprise, we saw a van pull up our driveway less than a hour after we placed the initial call.
The young man who came to rescue us was incredibly nice. It turns out he was at the doctor when we called (he was battling a cold), but came over as soon as he finished his appointment. Despite being under the weather, he kindly helped us pump the water out of our utility room before examining the boiler, water heater, and water softener for any damage. The Man ran out to get a wet/dry vac while the plumber worked to repair a defective part in the boiler and clear as much water as he could from the gas lines. Because it was a weekend, an emergency call surcharge applied to the visit, we figured he would take his sweet time doing the work to milk as much money out of us as possible. This was not the case at all. While he did what he could, the plumber explained to us that it would take hours to completely dry out the gas lines and cost us an absurd amount of money to do. He advised us that it would be better for us to air out the room over the weekend and call on Monday to have someone come reconnect everything for us. Because there was another part that needed replacing that he didn't have with him, we would need another visit anyway. His honesty would save us a good chunk of change. We agreed with his suggestion, and he completed the work he was able to do before cleaning up his equipment and heading out.
On Monday, we were able to schedule an appointment for someone to come out to replace the other part and reconnect our gas line. The gentleman who came out for that job was also very professional, making sure that he explained the work he was doing and completing it quickly and efficiently. He signed off on the loyalty card we had received over the weekend, so we could continue to earn towards a free service. Our boiler has worked well since their visits - very important considering how cold it's been so far!
Overall, we were very pleased with the service we received from Reissmann. Their employees have all been courteous, efficient, and happy to explain the work they were doing so we would understand everything we were being charged for. We definitely plan to give them a call when it's time to service our well or if we have any other plumbing issues.
Good folks.
you get what you pay for in this case.
They want to understand the scope of the job prior to dispatching the individual.
This indicates to me, they try to match the expertise of the plumber to the task.
Maybe in the long-run, this turns out to be more economical, as it reduces the potential for call backs.
They only use the best replacement components, which may seem like they are more expensive.
Note to Derek: get your crew certified with tankless water heaters, especially Noritz. It's an awesome product that needs some good representation here in Morris County.
Awful! Plumber came and was unable to clear a clogged kitchen sink and charged me anyway. Then he recommended a sewer cleaner who came twice to try and clear the pipes - each time for only a day - and caused a leak under the sink. A fourth visit - this time from a capable plumber - was needed in order to fix the leak under the sink and the clogged drain. A very costly and unpleasant experience!
melissa s.These are the folks to see about any plumbing issues you may have...nice, polite fast and efficient!
They even have a loyalty card!
