The service tech Adam was great! Very professional and took the time to explain and educate me on everything he was working on.
Ron S.We recently moved into our newly-purchased home, and wanted to have the HVAC checked out and tuned up. Arrangements with Reimer were quickly and easily made. The gentleman who showed up did so on time, as planned, calling ahead to confirm. He did a good, professional, polite, friendly job in a reasonable amount of time. A plumbing question arose, and as Reimer has just recently begun doing plumbing work as well, one of their pluming staff was called who came to the house promptly. He, too, provided quality service. Each was neat and clean, even wearing ""booties/footies"" upon entering the house, and made a good appearance. Both needed to do some minor work, and they explained and showed what they were going to do and actually did do. And, their services were reasonably priced. We're now happy customers, and will call Reimer for further similar work in the future, as well as in the event of an emergency.
Cam W.Our technician's name was Marty. Probably one of the nicest and most patient plumbers we've ever hired. Our emergency plumbing request was on Monday (Labor Day). He came out and made quick work of a big problem. Without Marty's help, we would have canceled our party. 50 guests needed to use our bathroom, plain and simple. Please make sure this man gets the recognition he deserves for providing such excellent service.
After acquiring two estimates from questionable companies, we contacted Reimer for a third opinion. Not only did Reimer come in significantly lower than the other two but they completed the work the following day. Marty and Todd were very efficient, honest, and knowledgeable. I have already recommended Reimer to friends and family and would not hesitate to call them again.
Very nice service. I got bad news for a new home purchase on my ac and furnace condition and it was delivered in a very nice way!! Lou was highly trained and did a great job cleaning up what he could. Thanks Reimer.
Alli L.I called Reimer to have a really old heating unit removed from my boiler heating system. Their initial visit was professional and we were quoted what felt like a very fair price. The technicians came promptly at the scheduled time, were very nice and professional, and were done very quickly. Looking at the place where the heater used to be, I can hardly tell it was ever there. Fantastic work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them again.
In 2003 I purchased a Carrier gas furnace and AC unit from Reimer. At the same time I also purchased a service club membership. For 13 years Reimer performed the maintenance on these units. Last week I woke up to a cold house because the furnace was not working. Naturally I called Reimer to come out and trouble shoot it.
That's when the repair person Lou had bad news for me. He told me that the secondary heat exchanger was clogged. He said that although it could be replaced for just under $1700 that his recommendation was to purchase a new furnace. He told me he would give me membership pricing. He gave me a price of $4476 for a 95% efficiency model and $6577 for a 97% model. I asked him if he had any information he could leave me so that I could look it over but he said that he didn't.
That evening I began to search on the Internet for different options. I happened to come across this article that said Carrier had, as part of a class action law suit, extended the warranty parts and labor to 20 years on this particular furnace and several others for the secondary heat exchanger. The next day I called Lou and inquired about it. He told me that Carrier would only warranty the part and not the labor. I explained that from what I read on the Internet that it appeared that Carrier was paying for the labor also. Lou than told me that Carrier could come put the part in themselves. He ended the conversation telling me that he would have his general manager call me on Monday.
I waited for a call on Monday but it never came. Tuesday morning I called Reimer and asked for the general manager and they informed me that he was on vacation. I explained the situation to the women on the phone and that we had no heat for 4 days and she told me that I will need to talk to the service manager Kevin. She put me on hold to see if he was available. When she returned, she told me that he was working on my issue but was with another customer and that he would call me back. I waited about 4 hours but still did not get a call back. I called back and insisted on talking to the service manager. Finally the service manager answered the phone. He told me that he was reading about the class action law suit on the Internet and that it was not very clear. I asked him if it would make more sense to call Carrier directly and get the information. He told me he did but they really didn't know and they were suppose to call him back. I told him that I had called Carrier the day before and within 15 minutes they gave me all the information. He told me that he would call me back when he heard from them. About 45 minutes later he called back. He told me that Carrier would pay some of the labor to put the part in but because I am such a good customer that he would only charge me $345. The other option was that Carrier would give a $200 credit towards a new Carrier unit. I told him that I would need to think about it.
Then I called a Carrier dealer and they told me that Carrier will pay for the parts and labor for the secondary heat exchanger or they will give a credit of up to $900 on a new Carrier furnace. He gave me a price of $4395 for a 98.5% efficient furnace. This was without being a club member and without the credit being deducted.
I had the Carrier dealer come and warranty the heat exchanger. There was no charge for the part or the labor.
Like I stated previously I dealt with Riemer for about 13 years. The first issue that I needed help with they tried to mislead me as well as overcharge me. I hope this review helps someone else make an informed decision.
Bob C.Their emergency service was useless. I had my furnace go in -12° weather. I called the emergency number and if they don't call you back within a certain time limit they waive a one time fee. Well, they didn't call me back within that timeframe and when they did actually call me back, The guy sounded like he was half awake (at 9:30 p.m.), asks me questions about the furnace, tried to walk me through certain things and talk to me as if I knew all about furnaces. Then he tells me I wouldn't be able to make it out until tomorrow anyway. What good is an emergency service if you have a pregnant wife, a one-year-old daughter, numerous pets and your house's interior temp drops to 40 degrees (inside).
Hire more techs if you're that backed up!
Kaitlyn M.I was referred to Reimer by a friend that has been using them for years...and now I am wishing I would've listened to her sooner! From the moment I called to the moment they left my home - I experienced nothing but great, genuine customer service. I never felt like they were trying to sell me or just make a job - they offered me many options pertaining to my situation but we never felt as if we were being pressured to choose one specific option. The customer service Reimer offered me was impeccable. I HIGHLY recommend their services! Thank you Reimer Heating & Air Conditioning for the great service...thanks to you, I can finally feel warm and toasty in my home again!
I bought a Groupon to have a tune up because I heard they were a reputable company. When the technician came he initially said our furnace just looked dirty but it quickly turned into us needing a brand new furnace. Our furnace is less than 8 years old and he said it ""burned it self out"" and ""technically he should shut us down because of the carbon monoxide that was being released into our home."" Thankfully we got a second opinion the next day from another company who confirmed that our furnace was not ""burned out"", rather the ignitor needed cleaning. He also showed us that our ""corroded parts"" that were brought to our attention the day before were smooth as can be. Also, if our furnace did indeed ""burn itself out"", it would be covered under the warranty of the furnace. What a scam! I will not recommend this company to anyone for making us panic about our safety.
