To be clear up front, Reid and Pederson did not do any work on my house. This review is about their (inaccurate) website and (poor) communication.

I needed some sewer rodding work done on my house. My local plumber suggested another company, but my boss indicated that company did a poor job for her. So I set out to find someone else local. Did a search for my little town and ""sewer rodding.""

Reid and Pederson not only came up, but their site LISTED my town as an area they service. ""Cool!"" I thought. They have largely positive reviews in many places. ""Even better!"" I thought. Their site even stated they would give a quote so there would be no surprises. ""YES!"" I was thinking at this point. ""Good deal - looking forward to having them work for me."" I reached out to them on their website contact form, asking them to please get back to me about someone coming out to let me know what services I'd fully need done and a quote.

24 hours later? NO response. (Yes, I checked my Junk Mail. I do every day.)

""Okay"" I thought, ""They do have an online chat on their site. I'll try that."" Interfaced with ""Jennifer"" on that, she got some basic ""What services do you need?"" info from me. She also asked the exact address I live - I provided it, with zip code. She said NOTHING about that being an issue (this is important for later.) Then she asked for my phone number in case they couldn't reach me by email. I said, very clearly, ""OUTSIDE of work hours it is okay to call me after 4:30 pm at this number.""

Did this happen? No... no it did not.

First of all, I still never got an email from Reid and Pederson. And not only did I get a call before 4:30 pm, I got TWO phone calls. The first message was, ""Hi - please call us back."" The second - FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER (and still an hour before 4:30) said, ""Hi - sorry about this, but we do not service your area.""

Huh. So, not only has this company wasted my time by saying they DO service my area on their website, they don't listen to VERY clear instructions on how potential customers ASK to be contacted due to work concerns.

How would they also listen to you when you ask them to do something for your plumbing? I don't know, but they won't find out from me now, even if they reach out to me to say the will service my area. I'll find someone who actually listens and responds to the customer and doesn't provide inaccurate info on their website.

YMMV. Hope you have better luck than I did with them. And they should update their website to take off the areas they list that they do not actually service.

High praise to Reid & Pederson for figuring out my clogged drain problem. Jose was able to determine it was the ejector pump going out. The delay in the pump starting was causing laundry water to rise to the level of the discharge pipe and, thereby, allowing water to flow from the floor drain all over my laundry room floor. THANKS to Jose for testing and proving his theory!!! I would highly recommend this company!!!

This company is excellent with returning phone calls, showing up on time and doing an all around great job! They clean up thoroughly and dont mind if you want to watch them (sometimes i do!) I would recommend them to anyone that needs plumbing work done especially pipes being rodded out! Thanks Keaton! Great job!

I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Reid & Pederson. I called first thing in the morning because my main sewer line needed to be rodded out . I promptly got an appointment, was called one hour before they arrived, and received a text with picture of technician coming . Jose was his name and he actually arrived 3 minutes early!
I was at work and had to have wife take care of letting them in and doing work. She was very happy with the courtesy and appearance of the technicians .
They completed the work very quickly and , the same service performed by Roto Rooter 2 years earlier was over 200 dollars more . And from what I learned plumbing companies usually charge at least 150 more . I will highly recommend this company to anyone that asks me my opinion on sewer rodding .

I've left a review of this company before, but I felt a follow up stellar report should be made again. Initially Reid & Pederson installed my sump and did a great job. Fast, efficient, informative, great communication... everything you'd want from a service company. Months later the check valve had a problem and they came right out replaced it and everything was great again. Last week the problem returned! Today Keaton from Reid & Pederson arrived to fix it. Keaton ran his checks and determined why the problem persisted. He then remedied the problem with a new part and a slight modification. He was knowledgeable and explained everything so that I understood exactly what was going on and how it should stay fixed this time. All of the techs at Reid & Pederson have been great and Keaton met and exceeded the bar today.

I was using these guys for a while on my properties with no problem on maybe 10 different calls, then they sent out a Tech to one of my buildings to rod a kitchen sink yesterday. He broke an old pipe underneath, which I completely understand they are not responsible for. However the tenant in the unit below talked to him on his way out and informed him that he had sewage dripping in from the ceiling. The tech looked at it claimed he didn't have any idea what it was, when it was clearly directly below where the tech had just rodded.

I should have took a picture of the bathroom on the floor in between that I had to clean up through with sewage all over the floor, took me at least two hours to clean up. I'm a good landlord who doesn't mind getting dirty to take care of his problems immediately so they have the least impact on my tenants, but this is ridiculous. He should of turn the water off on a sink that was causing the backup immediately. The kitchen sink bathroom sink toilet and bathtub for the unit above all ties together into a drum trap, which is why the sewage backed up from the broken sink pipe that is only a foot away from the drum trap in the floor.

They didn't call me, the tenant did, so I turned around and I had to call them, they didn't have a 24-hour plumber on call to respond to emergencies like this, which I would have been happy to pay for and left me on my own instead.

Basically they left a tenant, who is disabled, with poop dripping from his ceiling to twist in the wind. I'll never use them again. That tech was so unprofessional not to have at least turn the water off to that sink he had just rodded and call me, and it's ridiculous that they don't have an agreement with a 24hr plumber to immediately respond to situations like this.

Before some manager tries disputing my claim, 7 I already have pictures and statements from my tenants and will be contacting my attorney. You you are not responsible for old pipes but you have a duty to mitigate damage that you knew just took place and know that it was extremely likely that it was your tech's actions that started it. It's called being professional, which clearly this company is not.

After the miscommunication of the hours thenowner John went out of his way to answer my questions. We had to call the original plumber that did the work first but they were unable to help fix the problem.
We then called John back and he came out to acess the problem. The previous owner had installed himself a ejector pump too large for the tank. The switch got caught in on positionand burned out the motor.
We have had this house for 2 weeks so I was considerably upset. Ryan did quick work of replacing the unit and even installed some new pvc piping because the old stuff was rusting.
I was very impressed with the professionalism the entire process was handled. They even gave us a Yelp discount.

Originally they came Friday December 14 to rod my kitchen sink out that was backed up since Monday. The technician was unable to do it. He claimed he went 35 feet.

Next an appointment was set up for Monday to do a power blast. Two technicians tried rodding it and doing the power blast but never unclogged my sink.

I end up calling another plumber. With in the hour he had rodded my sink 50ft and it was all cleared. I know my house what needed to be done. I had gone a week with no kitchen sink. Had to go through a weekend with no sink.

They were professional attitude wise but for the aggrivation I needed someone to do the job. When I mentioned to the other plumber that they went 35 ft and that was all the line they had . He informed me that the lines are 25ft or 50 ft. If they would have done the same I would not have waited to have called another company.

Got home from work and found sewage had backed up into the tub from toilet use. Called Reid and Pederson, talked to a supervisor who said we can help. He asked a few questions, quoted an amount for ""Black Friday"" evening response (within an hour of my call), and Saturday. Due to the urgency we opted for ASAP and a few minutes later a tech was in route. Less than 30 min later tech was in the driveway. He introduced himself (OH - and he matched the photo emailed ahead of his arriving), explained the quote in person, indicated he was going to apply a senior citizen discount (without my asking), had me sign an approval screen on his tablet and got to work. Unfortunately due to the layout of our plumbing, we have to have our septic tank pumped out first before he could attempt to route the pipes out. Had he started and the septic tank was full, he wouldn't be able to catch all the effluent. He explained all of this to me, apologized that his hands were tied (unless I wanted the risk of raw sewage in my basement if the tank was over capacity) and told me there was NO CHARGE! since they weren't able to help us at this time. Basically I was asking them to do step 2, before I had a septic system company do step 1. Live and learn.
Very professional, checked with his office for a septic pumping company referral , gave me his business card should we still need them once the tank is empty and said good-bye. Price was a little higher than I expected, but fair. Their Saturday price was very good. First time I've ever called a plumbing service. I would call again! Thanks R & P!
