Company Overview

Established in 2009, Reeis is a locally owned and operated service provider, offering complete home solutions for homeowners in Arizona, such as air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, heating, and insulation. Taking a comprehensive approach, we deliver lasting comfort, energy efficiency, and peace of mind through expert diagnostics, quality repairs, and personalized solutions. From emergency air conditioning and plumbing repairs to system upgrades and regular maintenance, our trained team is committed to offering fair and honest, high-value solutions. We also provide our Happy Home Club, a convenient plan that features annual maintenance for air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems, along with a filter subscription, priority scheduling, discounts, and more. At Reeis, we are committed to doing things differently—and we promise you’ll appreciate our presence. The reason I established Reeis was that I observed how typical A/C contractors were offering their clients only a fraction of the solution. With my background in home building, I understood that a home operates as a cohesive system, with each part influencing the others. Focusing on just one component while overlooking others results in an inadequate solution. According to the National Comfort Institute, typical new A/C installations provide merely 57% of their cooling capacity. Sadly, the industry has not kept pace with needed advancements. Our technicians at REEIS receive training in home performance, air conditioning, and airflow. We take the time to conduct essential tests to identify what your home requires to enhance its health, comfort, and energy efficiency. Our method leads to superior outcomes.

I would like to warn you about Reeis' practice of cutting corners and suggest to give your business to some other reputable companies.
HVAC in out then new-built house was installed by Reeis. Similarly to problems described in Mark P.'s review, there were a lot of discrepancies to what was submitted and approved by the city compare to what and how it was really installed. The major problem was that instead of proposed 4 and 5 tons HVACs in our house it were installed 2 and 4 tons units! No wonder one side of the house was extremely hot during summer months (at extreme temperatures we could not cool it off below 86F!) The other issue became obvious when the tech came to perform the maintenance - the was no space for him to get to air handler in the attic, it was not just tight but literally to squeeze in he would have to disattach the duct from the unit. After three very hot summers in our new house we finally gave up and decided to replace one of the system with the bigger one but the issue with improper location of air handler precluded us to replace it because it would require to remove the drywall or the roof! So we ended up replacing only outside AC unit and are praying for air handler to last as many years as possible. Basically, we had to replace 3 year old HVAC that supposedly have 10 years warranty and spend nearly $10k because of Reeis's lousy job. The second smaller than necessary HVAC awaits it turn to be replaced pretty soon.
Please save yourself time and money and stay away from Reeis!

Follow up to Mr. Russo's remarkable reply.

Mr. Russo wrote:

""The event of this complaint were from a home a client built in 2016 The fact that Mr. Peters is attempting to defame one of my companies in 2023 is a testament to Mr. Peters' character.""

**RESPONSE**

Note that Mr. Russo fails to address the actual content--the many mistakes and errors his firm committed. Instead, we're off on a tangent related to the year his firm(s) made the mistakes?

Let's discuss why it's taken so long. Mr. Russo fails to note the MANY years of mediation and arbitration that followed the discovery of the errors, this after YEARS of failed ""repair"" attempts which, as it turned out, were all about kicking the can down the road until the two-year warranty expired. (This may also, ahem, explain why there was excuse after excuse as to why REEis would never provide the HVAC plans, despite being repeatedly asked to do so when their ""repair"" attempts had no impact. What he doesn't know is that his own employees spilled the beans about what his company was doing . . . and that's why some would apparently quit soon thereafter to work for more honest/reputable companies, or so I was told.)

Frankly, while it may FEEL like defamation, there is no defamation taking place--it's just a listing of the facts. If the damning facts are defamatory, perhaps REEis shouldn't be:

1. Installing 6 tons of AC after submitting formal documents for city approval which list 8 tons of required AC. (NOT allowed: see last paragraph of this one-page memo: www.phoenix.gov/pddsite/Documents/TRT/dsd_trt_pdf_00086.pdf)

2. ""Shorting"" the installations. REEis submitted the required formal duct plan for city approval. It shows registers and returns required per Manual D. It would be a REALLY good idea to have installed them. Doing so AFTER the homes were built, and having homeowners pay for what was supposed to be there originally, would likely be a form a fraud, or so I'd guess? (Not a lawyer, not legal advice; Mr. Russo should seek his own legal opinions.) That said, it would be GREAT if REEis would refund us (and Carl, and Olga, etc.) the money paid to install things that were supposed to be there in the first place. Please mail the checks soon!

Unsure what sharing our REEis experience has to do with my ""character,"" but when you have nothing for rebuttal, the ad hominem attack is the only thing left.

Mr. Russo wrote:

""Mr. Peters purchased an investment property from a client homebuilder in 2016. He never moved into the home. He created a false narrative to blame his builder for his poor investment decision. He attempted to get every agency in the state to support his false claims. The Attorney General's office, the City of Phoenix, the AZ Registrar of Contractors, The EPS/Department of Energy all dismissed his claims.""

**REPLY**

The home remains uninhabitable due to the REEis HVAC disasters. We have sickening FIVE-FIGURE estimates to rip out and replace the REEis equipment.

As an ""investment decision,"" it's a fine home . . . but for the builder and HVAC shortcuts and mistakes which left the home unlivable and created years of hassles for us and others.

Mr. Russo has labeled these as ""false claims,"" but cannot refute them with facts. In strong contrast, I have provided photographs of the REEis logo on documents submitted to the City of Phoenix, and which were then stamped for City approval. REEis was REQUIRED to install what they documented; they did not do so.

As for ""every agency in the state to support his false claims?"" Well, let's call it what it is: Arizona is a VERY ""business friendly"" state. That's why it took the homeowners so many months to even find an attorney--the state legislature has made it nearly impossible to recover from poor workmanship because now the awarded damages (which were substantial, thankfully) are whittled down by new laws which do NOT require builders to pay for the homeowners' legal and expert witness fees.

And, let's be frank: these agencies have bigger fish to fry (like Google!) than bad homebuilders and their subs, where there are lots of campaign contributions to be secured;-).

Mr. Russo wrote:

""I was an expert witness against him in the builder's civil defense suit. Once the deposition was completed, he went on every media outlet possible to defame REEIS. There is no validity to any of his complaints.

REEIS did not even install his HVAC system. Another company I owe which installs HVAC for new construction installed his investment property's air conditioning system.""

Oh, so we should blame ANOTHER of Mr. Russo's companies?!?

BTW, no real suits are allowed--that way there are no transcripts, just like bad builders like it. IIRC, the cover story arrived well before the arbitration (which Mandalay and REEis lost):

https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/complaints-hit-mandalay-homes-over-arizona-green-houses-11282024

I'd rebut more of the BS, but there's no space lef

TLDR: Poor quality products, poor craftsmanship, and if anything goes wrong they'll find any way to make it your fault.

Our AC went out 5 years ago and we contacted Reeis for a replacement. Based on all the good reviews online and being promoted by Rosie on the House, we thought we were making the best decision. The sales process of buying a new unit went smoothly but that's where it ended.

After the AC was installed I found that they did not wire up the new AC correctly. Only one stage of the AC was able to turn on and the technician argued that it was wired correctly; turns out it they were missing a ground line connection. During the sales process, we had included the installation of a secondary return vent which was not done at the time of install and I had to argue with a tech to get it done.

The AC has had a major failure EVERY year since it's been installed. Most recently we spent the Labor Day holiday ( with outside temps reaching above 105F ) without any air conditioning due to the compressor failing (at this point the unit is only 4 years old). They ordered a new one since the unit is still under warranty, but they refused to overnight the part, and due to it being a holiday weekend we were unable to get the repair done for a few more days. The internal temperature of the house reached above 90F during this time.

Upon selling our house the inspector found multiple issues with the system. The breaker was not properly sized, the wiring was not properly terminated, grommets were missing, the fan was leaking oil, the list goes on. I had to pay $700 in repairs for their poor craftsmanship and they claimed all this was my fault even though they've been out every year to work on it.

A one star review is being generous at this point. I've never had so much trouble with an air conditioner before. I don't believe this company stands behind the products they sell. With how frequently the unit needs to be fixed, I also question the competency of the repair technicians. When spending over $10K on an AC unit I'd expect it to work without flaw for many years. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel other consumers should know the trouble we've had with Reeis and consider taking your business elsewhere.

The attached images are of few examples of Reeis' poor craftsmanship taken by a home inspector.

They installed 4 units for my remodel 2 years ago. I have to have a gas valve replaced in one of the units, diagnosed by Southwest Gas to discover the gas leak. I called them to service it and they told me it would be $150 to come out, and after many questions I asked them how much a replacement of the valve would cost. The phone rep told me that it would not be covered under warrantee because I did not sign up for annual maintenance, and that the charge would be anywhere from $700 to $1500.
I called Crane to get their suggestion for a service for Trans, they gave me Reliance. Over the phone she looked up my unit, said it was under warrantee, and put me on hold to check if the part was available, it was, and they sent a technician the same day.
Reeis is dishonest, rude and overpriced.

The A/C air handler that was in our home filled up with condensation and our ceiling fell through. After paying to fix the ceiling we called Reeis to install a brand new setup (condenser and air handler) as well as add insulation to the whole attic. Shortly after install, the brand new air handler filled up with condensation and leaked on our new insulation and new ceiling. The air handler was fixed and the team went up to ensure there was no mold.

During the winter, the new unit makes a banging noise. After two winters, a tech was finally able to find the cause in the third winter. Reeis was able to send out a tech to secure the lines and reduce the knocking so it is barely audible now.

After being in the attic figuring out the cause of the knocking, the tech told me that there were spots in the attic that didn't have much insulation. Reeis sent out a team to fill in any spot that needed.

I can trust that Reeis stands behind their work. I would recommend this business to others.

Last night, just before bedtime, one of our AC units shut down. Never a good thing in 100 degree heat. These units are old enough to legally drink. We were/are planning on replacing them but were waiting until the fall to do this.
I called REEis, who have been servicing our systems since we moved here 10+ years ago, and left a message on their after hours emergency line. The recording stated that someone would call back. They did... 15 minutes later. The were extremely helpful and reassuring. I was told that they would have someone there first thing in the morning. They did. At 7 AM their service technician was here and had the system running again in 20 minutes. We still need to replace them but at least now we can be cool while the order is in place.

3rd time is a charm ... Lol.

This company is very disappointing!

3rd time that they're a NO CALL NO SHOW for an appointment. How professional, right?

We have things to do, places to be. We made arrangements so we can be on location for the appointment.

NO CALL NO SHOW 3rd time... Would you want this happened to you???

Reached out several times. Only VM.

Do yourselves a massive favour and use another company.

Disappointed with this company and it's inability to communicate with there customer... they have now no show'd me twice which both times I took time off work to accommodate the time they said they would be in. I sent them a message asking what was going on and got no response back. Not a company I would recommend to any friends or family.
