The house had a persistent sulphur smell and some occasional brown water. We realized it may be the hot water heater. We called Redwood Coast Plumbing and they came out the next day (first thing in the morning) and fixed the problem immediately! They had also come out once before to fix the garbage disposal. They are super nice, professional, affordable, and they get the job done!

We have had somewhat mixed experiences with Redwood Coast Plumbing but overall they are a good local business. They have come out 3 times now as the assigned contractor for our American Home Shield. We did not have any issues the first 2 times but this last time we were without hot water for nearly 6 weeks. A lot of the delay was due to the nature of AHS and insurance companies being slow but Redwood Coast Plumbing was also slow in getting back to us (they tend to not answer their phone during business hours and can take a day or two to return calls, which is frustrating). Another major frustration was that they refused to come out when the hot water first went out because we had COVID- normally I would understand but our hot water heater is UNDER the house... I tried to explain this to the dispatcher and then the supervisor but they were really inflexible, which led to an extra week or so without hot water that was easily avoidable.

As frustrating as all that was, they are usually quick to respond and all of the plumbers we've had out (4 different ones) are friendly, knowledgeable, and competent.

We will likely use them again once our AHS contract ends and we're free to choose our own plumber...

Our old hot water heater failed right around the Thanksgiving holiday. Redwood Coast Plumbing was great! They sent someone out right away even though it was over a holiday. We got timely, top-knotch, reliable service at a good price. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family

I have a AHS Home Warranty. These guys were Not my choice of plumber. They were dispatched thru my warranty company. They came out and installed a water heater.(took a Month before they Even came out) After the tech installed it, he called His boss and said he heard a crackling sound abd he didnt think it was normal to hear this sound. The head Tech he called told him "" Its probaly making that sound cause its new"". The installer left. I was told by Amanda that i needed to complete the permit with the City if Rio Dell. Amanda said she would Arrange it. IT NEVER HAPPENED.
I am a single mom of 6. We were getting the house ready to move in by painting it, ect. Everytime we were at the house, we would get sick to our stomachs and leave wirh headaches. We thought it was the paint UNTIL...P G E came out to weatherproof the house. They have a program for people like me that are low income with a family. As a courtsey, they checked All my gas appliances for carbon monoxide leaks. All passed Except for my water heater. He said the flame was Too orange and Not a Blue and it was Omitting Too much Carbon Monoxide. He then called P.G.E. gas and reported it. The P.G.E. tech came out Right away and Shut it Down! He Unhooked it and told me if my family and i had Spent the night, we Would Not have woken up in the morning!!! He told me I Needed to call Whoever installed it and get it fixed. He then Red Tagged it and left.
I called Redwood Plumbing and talked to Anita. She said it could b a blocked flue, if i can get on the roof and look down it. Or, it could be a gas line problem. I explained to her, i am handicapped and Cant climb up on the roof myself. Also, If it was a Gas line problem, Wouldnt PGE have caught it??? "" Oh, Thats true"" she said. It Took them a couple weeks but they Finally came Back out. In the neantime, i had a friend climb up on the roof and look down the flue and he said there Wasnt even a Cobweb in there.
When they Finally came back out (weeks later), the Head tech was there. (You know the one who told the guy who installed it it was Normal for it to crackle cause it was new"", he lit it up and took out his carbon dioxide meter and tested it. Yep, too much carbon monixode wS being ommitted. As he was talking to me i told him what the PGE guy had said about the flame being yellow not blue. Then i pointed to it and said, "" Like what its doing now"". He looked over and Freaked out! He yelled out that it was on Fire in there and was Not sopposed to be doing that! He said there was probaly a leak in the parts line and how he couldnt beleive the flame didnt blow out the little window!
He turbed it off, took it apart and pulled the charred part out. He then told me, had I stayed the night here, I Would have Not woken up!!! I also asked why its Not earthquake proofed. (Part of the agreenent with my AHS home wsrranty is to Bring it up to code) He then put a wood block between tge wall and the water heater then screwed it into the top of the water heater.
After he pulled the charred part out, he said and i quote, "" I will order the part, i will send it here, when it comes, Call me and we will be out to put it in"".
The parts came, I called, No answer, No Return calls, No email. I Called n Called. Emailed, for a Month!!!
Then today i get a email from Anita badically stating, "" Your home warranty wont pay us to come back out"". "" Yiu need to call Rgeem n they will help you"",
What!?? Thats it?? Theyvwere the ones to Install the Faulty heater, Did Not Check it, Said a ""Crackling"" Noise that the 1st tech Knew Was Not Nirmal, was Normal. Did Not Bring it up to code And Failed to have it inspected that Is A Law to do.
REALLY!!??
US THIS REALLY WHO YOU WANT TO TRUST WITH YOU HOME? YOUR INVESTMENT??
I Have Never had to deal with Such NEGLEGENCE AND UNPROFESSIONALISM IN MY LIFE!
Again, If My Family had SPENT the night, WE WOULD NOT BE HERE NOW!
You Would Think also, Instead of Drop Kicking ne, to Help Guide me in the right direction! I have to call Rgeem Myself, OK, Whats The Number? What Kind of Unit is it? What Exactly is Wrong with it? When was The install date?? REDWOOD PLUMBING NEVER GAVE ME PAPERWORK!!
Oh, btw, We had a 6.4 earthquake in Rio Dell. The Earthquake ""Braces n Block"" FAILED!!
PKEASE, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR PRECIOUS FAMILY OR HOME. THEY OBVIOUSLY DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT $$$$$.
I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

Redwood Coast Plumbing is hands-down the BEST!!! I'm fixing and managing several properties and have a myriad of plumbing issues. Larry and Anita are amazing!! The work is excellent, on time, and very reasonable.
