On June 11 I had Reds Plumbing come to do a small job at our house. The plumber told me it would be $500. I thought that was outrageous but I was in a bind, so I authorized the work. The work took about 1 hour to complete. That's when I knew I'd been had. I did all the digging for the job. Here's their summary of the work.

Does that sound like $500 worth of work to you? Me neither. They sent me a bill for $589. That's $89 for the parts it took 1 hour to install and $500 to cover the authorized work. Really $89 on top of the already outrageous $500!

I paid $500. If you want to get SCREWED call Reds Plumbing.

I'm new to the area, and have tried three different, well reviewed plumbing companies as I have done work to remodel my home. I would have to say Red's has been my clear favorite. Clear, reasonable pricing. Excellent, detailed work ( done with care ). And just a very friendly, customer focused team. They really want to understand what is important to you, to disrupt your home and day as little as possible, and then ensure they have fixed things exactly as you would want before they leave. And as their name implies - they actually are ""on time"" ( usually early ). And everyone is friendly, personable, and makes you feel important as their customer. Five stars on the work. And probably Six stars ( if it were possible ) on their customer focus.

If you want fair, transparent pricing - along with on time, exceptional work done with a focus on you as the customer, I couldn't recommend Red's more highly.

Red's Plumbing replaced a water heater for me. Every aspect was done with total professionalism. And Oscar and Philipe were very nice to deal with. My cold water valve was a gate valve that was not quite completely shutting off and they said it was probably still good enough. I asked them to replace it anyway with a better quality ball valve. This shows they don't try to sell you things you don't need. They upgraded my gas valve and setup to bring them up to code (they were at one time, but the code has changed.) They have an extremely well equipped truck and I imagine they can do almost anything without having to ""go get parts.""

Red's replaced my gas water heater with a heat pump water heater that purrs like a kitten while keeping me supplied with plenty of low-cost hot water. They did a great job with a somewhat complicated installation because my gas water heater wasn't installed according to code. This one was done right! And they helped me get a $3,300 rebate, as well!

Needed a new drain installed on a shower/tub combo. The plumber was an hour late with no communication. I had to call multiple times before someone picked up to tell me the plumber was running late. Once he finally arrived, he installed some parts and quoted me what seemed like a reasonable price for the work. He said he would need to come back another day as he did not have parts. Understandable. Set up a new appointment that got postponed. Still understandable, life happens. When he finally arrived the following week, he reported he spoke to his manager, and it would actually be 3x the quoted price. Unfortunately I am selling my house and needed the work done. The plumber was very friendly and the work appeared to be quality but if I had to do it over again I would not use this company. This company is also attached to Benjamin Franklin's plumbing. I will be leaving a review there as well.

Oscar saved our day! We had a whole system clog and he fixed it within a half hour. Super expensive weekend call, but we didn't have a choice. Very professional, quick, helpful, and understanding. Just quite pricy when you have to call them on a Saturday!
