I've had this company out four times to fix the same toilet, and it still wasn't fixed. They continued to charge me and didn't guarantee their work. The last two times I asked when they were there if I'd be charged since it was a repeat call and was told they couldn't reach their boss so couldn't tell me. In both cases I received a bill a month later. I wrote a letter the fourth time, reviewing my experience and asking them to reconsider charging me yet again (they gave me a $30 discount for being a repeat customer), I was working in a situation with little phone service at the time and asked that they communicate with me by email, text, or leaving me a phone message, none of which happened. I did get one call-back that just said ""call me,"" which I did again a couple weeks ago with a request including when I'd be able to be home, then never heard from them again. I assume they just want me to go away, so I called another plumber, paying a fifth time for the same toilet. Redbird even replaced the entire toilet (and charged me for it) on one of the visits, but problems continued. Each ""fix"" led to a different problem, so it wasn't always the same thing. But I would have loved to have ended up with a working toilet!

I agree with Tammy K. of Normal; Redbird doesn't even deserve 1 star. The first plumber installed a new sump pump and lid. He cut holes 3 inches closer to edge than prior lid As he was leaving, he told me to keep an eye on float switch because he was not happy with how close the float switch was to the wall and may have to come back and run new pipe. I called Chris and he removed a cardboard shim the first plumber used to keep the float switch away from wall; then Chris screwed a J-hook into my new lid instead. After Chris left the float switch kept rubbing against the wall causing the main pump to run constantly or not at all. Third plumber was sent to fix issue; he put a 45 degree angle pipe under the lid to relocate the sump pump allowing float switch clearance.

The final price was more than the original quote and nobody informed me of the higher costs prior to completing the work. When I questioned Chris what a ""no-hub"" is because I was charged for it and I really did not know what it was. Chris texted me back ""Is this a joke?"" No Chis it is not a joke; it is a customer with a question about a charge.

I informed all 3 plumbers that I mitigate radon gas and want a sealed lid. Now I get to caulk all the holes that plumbers left in the lid. I discussed radon gas with each plumber and none of the plumbers at Redbird were concerned with radon gas. I am not happy that they are willing to risk my children's safety for their convenience even after I paid for a new lid.

Redbird Plumbing is fast, knowledgeable, honest and reasonably priced. The know what they are doing and will answer all questions They don't try to upsell either! We have called on them for over 10 years. A locally owned company! Hope the owner never retires!
Ps. Besides plumbing jobs, the do plumbing inspections for the city and cost a little bit less there too! Love a company that saves us money and does a good job too!

This is THE plumbing company to call if you ever need anything! Why? Because the owner is honest and very upfront. We used them last year for a plumbing issue and were given the quote upfront before they even came to our house. And they resolved the problem very quickly and charged exactly what the quote was.

Well, last night we were without hot water so I called them this morning. The owner Chris called me back and talked me through a few preliminary items and we were able to solve the problem without them having to come to our house. I imagine a lot of other plumbers would not have done this, but Chris took the time to help me over the phone even though it cost him a service call.

Chris (the owner) is very honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy. In the past I have used a few other plumbers and really like Redbird much better. Not to say anything bad about the other companies, but my experiences with Chris have been excellent and professional. I highly recommend using Redbird Plumbing!

Quick buck artists who dont pull permits to do their work. Then when B/N comes knocking you have a further expense to hire a real plumber to inspect their work and all the hassle associated with that. Do yourself a favor and get a real plumber the first time.

Terrible customer service after a no call no show was told service for valves would be free.
Already had paid for toilet installation. The workers were rude, said the owner Chris Marx never told them that. I said please get him on the phone, because he never will answer any calls. They said, he never answers our calls either. I said well please replace the valves and I will take it up with Chris. They stated no we wont do that. The owner has yet to answer or even tell me why he told me that they would, and now they would not. Terrible. Missed hours of work over no calls no shows.
