I had Red Cap plumbing out to clean out a shower valve ass it was not flowing properly. the first guy came out and the water flowed about 2/3 of what it should have. I called them back and he was going to return. In the mean time he got sick and they sent out another guy. I explained what was going on and he took apart the valve handles and then checked his computer and stated it would be $229. to flush out the valve. Since this is what I had paid a week before I questioned him if it was guarantied to work. He said no the only guarantee would be to replace the entire valve. He then said I should get the valve that I like and it would be $995.00 to install it. Realistically it should have been about $995.00 including the valve which was $649.00. I told him I would call back when I got the new valve. He then attempted to silicone the late back in place and replace the knobs. He had silicone smeared all over the slate tile and the control knobs and plate which he left. He then tried rinsing some of it down the drain making the floor he was standing on all wet. He did not bother to wipe his shoes on the bath mat when exiting and left wet foot prints through the carpet on his 3-4 trips to the truck. He also could not get the knobs back on he tried jamming them on at an angle. He left the shower totally inoperable. I noticed later that he had not backed the set screws out enough to get them to seat on the stems. TOTAL incompetence in my opinion. I will not use them again And would not recommend them to anyone.

Red Cap came back over and over and over. The Bill's got higher and higher and higher. There was always another problem.

These people are the biggest ripoff!!! They prey on the elderly!! And they give you a bill that's not itemized. To install a faucet charging $900.00 was a complete ripoff !! DO NOT USE THESE SCUM BAGS!!

UPDATE*** After the first review I called them back out as we signed up for the maintaince plan and had them look at the air conditioner. The sales """"comfort adviser"""" was a real treat. He came out and what a slick sales man. First he says did you see all the mold in your handler? No.. He says I will have the tech send photos he took to me. After asking 2x for them I still haven't seen the pictures. instead of trying to fix the problem as the unit and handler are 8 years old. He advised we need all new duck work and Air conditioning system. 18k and change, 16 seer or 14k for 14 seer. Then Mr. Comfort Advisor became compassionate... since he knew the water heater in the house was old he said the big boss would give us one for free because they are compassionate about us being a young family. Since the estimate I asked him 2 TIMES to document what they found in the ducks and what an estimate for the air ducks would be. WELL MR. Comfort has not responded nor replied in any manor. Finally do I believe this company has a crew like this. Absolutely not, But I will tell you I hope this man stays away from the elderly. Im glad he pulled this on me and not my grandparents. Comfort advisors name was Don.. BE AWARE ... Very Pleased, I called the crew at red Cap and they showed up the same day and did a fantastic job. We had a clogged drain in our new home. Come to find out it was dried grease. John the tech went above and beyond. Personally exceeded my expectations and thank you again

Our kitchen sink was leaking and Carmelo Vargas from Red Cap Plumbing came over. He quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem and replaced the disposal. He was very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending him for any plumbing issues.

Jessica came over to give us a quote for a new AC unit. She said we had tears and holes in our ductwork so it needed to be changed. She also said our copper lines needed to be replaced. When it came time to quote us, we respectfully told her we would be getting other quotes. She tried to make us feel like it was an emergency. Okay, no... We've known we needed to change the unit for a year at that point. She asked for my credit card number so that when I let her know she can charge us the deposit. Okay, no... Then it became a haggling war with Jessica as the only participant. She originally quoted us at around $15k for the work but went down to about $9k when she saw we weren't going to """"sign on the dotted line."""" They obviously are not interested in giving you an upfront fair price. A different company came over to give us a quote and the items Jessica said were damaged were indeed not damaged. I would not recommend this company.

We own a few multifamily buildings in Tampa and I had Red Cap do 3 repiping projects. The 1st went smoothly since it was smaller but I wasn't as happy with the 2 larger ones. The 2 Assessors they have are nice but working with a different Assessor for each of the larger projects I found there was lack of good communication. The building is occupied by tenants and after beginning work, I'd have to ask the office about when water would be off. Also one of the projects was left for the city to inspect but then they didn't come back to refill all the trenches they had dug around the yard until I called. One assessor at the last project promised me drawings to show where the new pipes were put in but that was never given to me. Overall, if you're doing a larger repiping project and spending thousands of dollars, I'd go with another company that values you as a customer.

Unbelievable. Horrible customer service. The qoute the """" manager"""" gave me was 5,000 less than what we ended up paying. On top of that, they left the yard in total disaray. We had an agreement that the pipes from the meter to house didn't need to be replaced. Well, apparently they did? Now there is a trench in my yard, and for some reason, the meter is on my lawn. Buyer beware. Red Cap Plumbing talk a good talk, and that's about it. P.S Good luck getting in touch with them when you need them

Called to arrange for their advertised $49 a/c tune up. Appnt scheduled for 4/12 between 12-6. At around 3:00 they called and said Tech couldn't get there today and rescheduled for Sun. 8-12. Sun. at around 11:00 they call and say tech will be there in 1 - 1/12 hours. Two hours go by...no tech. I call and was told Tech is on his first job and I'm next. I informed him that I got a text yesterday telling me tech would be here at 8:00 am, so I assumed I was the first job. I waited and finally a little after 3:00 Tech shows up (different than the tech they emailed earlier). I told him this would be a quick visit as this was just a tune up & cleaning. He said that the tune up just means they inspect everything and then make recommendations for what needs to be done, including if cleaning should be done, and then provide estimates. I told him that although I didn't blame him, I believe this was deceitul on the part of Red Cap, and they should have explained that to me when I first called requesting tune up & clean using the $49 coupon. I wasted two entire days, only to learn that Red Cap uses a bait & switch tactic. They will NEVER have the opportunity to disappoint me again!!

Outrageous pricing, 4 hours after I called to request a minor repair a technician comes out with an attitude and begins to argue about pricing after showing up late. Do not use this company. Don't wait hours until you have no other option. Never, ever again. And I will tell everyone I know not to use this place. You only get screwed over once.
