A belated review for a great job and experience. Our water heater burner died Thanksgiving day and after several calls and not much hope, I called RCV. Randy came out and confirmed it was the burner. Since the GE water heater was still under factory warranty, Randy even called GE to see if they'd just replace the burner (since it would take major work to get the old one out of where it was installed). Unfortunately, GE only warrantees the whole water heater (long term that is good since I would replace the whole thing, bad news because all of the furnace connections would have to come out, as well as the doors and door frame to the closet where the water heater and furnace reside). Because of the unusual location and because I had to go through Home Depot to get the replacement water heater (under warranty), Randy said that they'd just charge time and materials.

I scheduled the replacment early the following week. However, we had a death in the family and I had to call to reschedule last minute. They were very understanding, and were able to come during the evening (they don't charge extra for non-business hours). Also, Randy said I'm welcome to do as much of the pre-work as I want, which of course lowered the charges. He and a helper came out, and managed to pull the old one out (the new one is a slightly smaller diameter so if it happens again, I don't have to replace the door frame again).

Randy did a great job and was very fair on the charges. I've replaced water heaters myself before (when they are sitting on a stand in a garage), but this was not easy.

Very glad I found RCV. I'm hoping this new water heater works as long as the new warranty, but I know who I can call if it dies again.

Apparently GE water heaters are incredibly difficult to find repairmen for and after calling multiple companies in the San Jose area with all of them pretty much not wanting to deal with GE units, I was lucky enough to have RCV come out and take a look. Just Water Heaters came out to look and billed us $65 dollars to light the pilot which just ended up blowing out and they did not even spend time to find out what was wrong. The issue was that the pilot light kept going out. After doing a google search myself, I knew that it was the thermocouple that needed to be replaced. Not sure why Just Water Heaters couldn't figure that part out and instead took our money without even offering a resolution or even checked back with us to find out if we had any more issues. Anyhow, everyone from RCV were super nice and genuinely wanted to help us fix our water heater. The cost was way below what everyone else quoted us and I was happy that they were so easy to work with.

Bottom line: Don't buy a water heater from Home Depot because they only carry GE and GE is a terrible company to deal with on repairs and parts. Don't go Just Water Heaters or Fast Water Heaters (the company that Home Depot contracts out to.)

Randy was super helpful and we will be calling RCV again if we have any more plumbing or water heater issues.

I recently had my toilet replaced by Randy. He was on time and extremely courteous. He even offered to repaint the bathroom wall since the toilet did not have the same footprint as the previous one. His service was above and beyond what I have experienced from previous plumbers.
It is a small family run business and they were extremely pleasant on the phone. I had actually called another plumber and cancelled that one which was the right decision.
I highly recommend Randy and I will use his services again.

I feel that because they are a family run business they want to make sure the job gets done correctly, Randy is a great guy and does a great job for a fair price & I feel the true test of how good of a job someone does is by asking the question, would you call them again? and in this case the answer is definitely, yes.

I'm a huge fan of supporting small businesses so I was thrilled to find this on yelp. On Saturday morning, my husband was taking a shower and I heard a blooping noise coming from our guest bathroom. Oh no... our bathrooms are clogging again. Great.

My husband tasked me with finding a local plumber instead of calling Rescue Rooter again. That lead me to find RCV Plumbing & Sewer. I called them and got a prompt answer. They scheduled to have someone come out between 2-4pm. Unfortunately, although I had stated that we had plans at 4pm, nobody has showed up. I called them back and they apologized profusely. To make amends, they offered a 10% discount when I rescheduled for Sunday afternoon 12-2pm.

Randy showed up about 1pm and immediately started working on the issue. It took him an hour and a half to snake through a bunch of roots. I felt really bad because he looked exhausted by the time he was done. The whole thing cost us $85 which is a super good deal compared to what I was paying before. He even provided a recommendation on next steps to get this thing fixed permanently.

I highly recommend RCV Plumbing & Sewer. Fantastic service!!

We needed a plumber to install a new water heater tank as the old one was leaking badly so we reviewed plumbers on yelp. Decided to call RCV and left a message. Our message was returned immediately and I gave the information regarding the old heater. The lady on the phone was very helpful and very patient with me as I attempted to find all the information on the old unit. We set up an appointment and Randy turned up on time and appeared very knowledgeable and competent. The job was cared out with professionalism and with a caring attitude. It was so pleasant to work with somebody who had such great qualities.
We have Randy in our data base now for all our plumbing needs in the future.
Be sure to consider this guy when you need a plumber - you will be pleased that you did.

Found both bathrooms clogged on Monday night at 8:00 PM - and we were in a state of panic.

Called a number of plumbers in San Jose. Either got the voice mail or got a very high after-hour quote for immediate service. I was getting ready to cancel the next morning's meetings and stake out for a plumber!

RCV was great on the phone, and out to my property within the hour, fixed the mainline clog - and at a reasonable price.

Highly recommend Randy @RCV Plumbing and sewer.

I don't think Randy is so experienced, though his attitude is good. I had plumbing issue and called him in August because I saw so many people recommended him on yelp. Randy came and said it's the main line problem and helped to clean it. Yes it worked. But the same issue came again in September. Randy again said it's the main line problem and cleaned it. And then? Yes it's October and I got the same plumbing issue!! I don't think my main line is so dirty to need monthly cleaning. Anyway I will find other person this time to find out the real problem. Cannot trust Randy anymore.
