Recommended Customer Reviews

Please read this review only if you are planning on installing a water softener. I don't want to hurt anybody's business but at the same time customers should be aware of what they are getting into.
I Wanted the installation service alone from this company for water softener I wanted to buy from homedepot, and my garage doesn't have the drain(which the water softener needs for draining the discharge). The person from this company who came to my house was very keen to sell and install the system that he recommended and it is called ""xx water services."" I Don't want to say the name because they won't let me
He said ""you don't need a discharge line for his system and you don't even need salt for this water softener."" Not even power supply. That is strange right?
Something didn't seem right to me because of the violation of mass balance principle, and I'm a chemical engineer by profession.
Here are my points:
For a water softener, you do need a discharge line, BECAUSE you want to discharge the salts that cause hardness. So conservation of mass is violated here when he said ""you don't need a discharge line.""
I asked the plumber who came to my house, ""how is this possible?"" he said ""The system changes the molecular structure of water."" If I could I will give negative 10 stars for this lame statement alone. A very wrong thing to tell a person who has a masters in chemical engineering.
The person who came to my house was a very nice person and polite, so this is nothing personal. But when I look at the interaction with him very objectively, it made me give one star.
when I did further research about the ""pelican water services"" which he wanted to sell and install, it turns out that it is not a WATER SOFTENER, but it is a WATER CONDITIONER. If you test the processed water from this pelican water system it will still be hard, so don't be fooled when someone tries to pass-on a WATER CONDITIONER as WATER SOFTENER.
So you may ask what does this conditioner do? In my opinion it may just add some minerals or chemicals that may make the water taste good or do something like that, and all other claims MAY BE FAKE.
Once again, why is it fake? because of my original statement. The system violates the conservation of mass. If you want to remove and discharge the salts from the water that causes hardness, then that should be done through a replacement reaction that involves either sodium or potassium chloride which requires a discharge line and it is as simple as that.
In summary, the plumber only wanted to sell and install a WATER CONDITIONER that he sold and he wanted to pass on that as a WATER SOFTENER. Remember it is not a water softener but a water conditioner which he calls a water softener.
When I asked about installing a discharge line, again, he lied saying the code doesn't allow that. I verified and the code allows you to install a discharge line as long as there is a air gap in your discharge line. So the one star is for lies and deception.
The honest thing for the company to do would have been to tell me when I called them that they only install what they have and what they have is not a WATER SOFTENER but a WATER CONDITIONER. Why come and waste my time and their time?
If you really want a real WATER SOFTENER, then stay away from this company.
I would like to tell everyone that I didn't have a chance to use this plumbing service; however, these were my views about my interaction with this company

They were fabulous! Very responsive, very knowledgable about water heaters and guided me through the process of getting a new one. He was on time and completed the job quickly. I was very impressed he was able to address a few other minor plumbing issues with faucets that we forgot to mention initially and even came back out to fix a leak without charging us. I will absolutely call them again

Outstanding service and fair pricing. I needed a small repair on a water heater, gave me a fair quote and fixed in under 30 minutes. Easily could have invented other problems and/or parts......did not, thank you.

Lovely company to work with, from the person answering the phone to the person that showed up at my door. It was a pretty straightforward problem with my water heater but he showed up when they said he would, fixed the problem quickly, and made me feel comfortable inviting him into my home. I would hire them again in a moment.

My plumbing job was a tough one. I recently purchased a home where the previous owner had a screwed up, not to code repiping done in the crawl space - several direct galvanized to copper connections were done that were corroded, one leaking and the others - a time bomb waiting to burst.
Also, the bathtub drain was leaking - probably for years.
I'm very handy with home improvements, but this was a tough , ugly job. Randy and assistant fixed everything - back to code - (copper to copper and brass fittings for galvanized to copper) and even haulled away discarded pipes in the crawl space that were previous left as a garbage pile.
How often do homeowners go into the crawl space to check on all the pipes? Probably not often - it is essential that you can trust the plumbing work down there or it could be leaking for years.
Randy is probably not the least expensive plumber - but he is worth every cent - especially in a case such as this.
Regards,
Michael

Wow!! What a great company and a great person!! Randy was honest, reliable and upfront. Didn't charge me for the estimate! And Chanel? What can I say? She worked really hard to get an appointment the very next day! This will be the ONLY plumbing service I ever call again!!

Problems with water heater on Thursday and RCV was out that day. Special water heater needed since I have 3 floors and installed on time in a few hours on Monday morn bGave a discount since he didn't have the ""special heater"" in stock on Thursday. Randy even walked around the house and helped fix a few other water issues for free! Professional and courteous. Would highly recommend again.

Plumbing issues - ugh! Randy has saved us twice now, quickly diagnosing scary issues with his calm competence. It's stressful to have water leaking under your house or onto your new hardwood floors yes, but I'm so grateful to have a plumber who's responsive, and quick, and reasonably priced.
I have just sent a shout out to my friends on facebook to look up Randy for their plumbing needs. He's THAT good a resource!

Had issue with drain, and called RCV Plumbing. Randy came and unclogged the drain using a snake in 20-30 minutes or so. Resolved the issue, and haven't had a problem so far. Great service!

I contacted several plumbers to get an estimate to run new sewer line. I paid the first company to run a camera down the line to accurately locate it so that the estimate would be more accurate. This camera report can then be use by the other companies to guide their estimates.
RCV came out to give me his estimate and would not do so unless I paid him $250 to run his own camera, he refused to use the report from the other company. It would have been nice if I was told this on the phone when I called to make the appointment, but there was no mention of an upfront cost.
I guess his his money scheme depends on unaware customers calling him out for a free estimate that turns out not to be free. It doesn't work when you've paid another plumber to mark the line location ahead of time.
