Company Overview

Our experienced and friendly licensed plumbers, electricians, and handy professionals are ready to handle almost any task you need! We offer painting, power washing, and a variety of services that homeowners desire.

My team and I began our careers in the trades many years ago. We chose to establish our own business. Having worked for larger corporate firms, we were frustrated by the high markups and aggressive sales tactics they employed through a program called Nex Star. Rather than hiring skilled tradespeople, they often opted for salespeople instead. We hold licenses, have undergone background checks, and are eager to help. We are tradesmen, not salespeople.

RBS Mechanical did an amazing job on the Burger King remodel in Newport, KY. Very professional and knowledgeable. Rob and Ryan are very kind people and will do what it takes to get the job done. Outstanding communication, as well! We strongly recommend RBS!

I contacted RBS to install a new dishwasher that required our hardwood floor to cut back in order for it to fit into the existing space properly. They said that they could probably do it, but that they would send someone out on a Wednesday to look at the job and give us an estimate, and could probably get to it on the following Monday. Two men showed up as promised on Wednesday and then left.
By Monday, late afternoon, I haven't heard anything back, and we were hoping to have the job done on Monday as stated ( but not promised). I sent the owner a text, and soon after that, he and I had a phone conversation. I explained that we were wanting the estimate, after a brief exchange of ideas, there seemed to be confusion on who was contacting who after the estimate. His guy with estimate, said my wife was supposed to contact RBS and my wife said he said no such thing. While we were on the phone, owner contacts the guy with estimate (we can all 3 hear each other) and berates the guy for dropping the ball, and telling him that he's casting a bad light on his business with this behavior. After his guy hung up, the owner conveyed that he had problems with this guy and apologized, saying that's not the way he does business, and assured me that I would hear from him the following morning. We didn't hear anything Monday or Tuesday, so Wednesday I contacted him, via text, to ask again for the estimate. He called me back, but I was in a meeting, he left a voice mail message apologizing for how things were going, and said that he was going to do the job for free.
Friday I text Rob and asked when he thought they could get to us, he replied that Wednesday morning was open, I told him that 18 yr old son would be there until 1130a, then he had to go to work, he said that was fine. Wednesday morning I called my son from work ar9und 830 to make sure he was up and to see if they workers had shown up, they had not. I text Rob to make sure they were still coming, he replied that he had to get some tools from another job, but that they would be there, that was last I heard from him. I tried to text him a couple more times, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, because sometimes life happens. Several days later now, I have yet to hear anything.
RBS has a couple other negative reviews on here and there seems to be some commonality, that something goes awry and then all communication from their end ceases. I would not even be on here giving this negative review, had he just told me honestly that he was not longer interested in doing job, I wouldn't have been happy, but I would have respected the honesty. To simply no longer reply when commitments were made to perform a service is very bad business.

Rob and his brother Ryan are awesome! They are very knowledgeable. Rob is very professional and responsive. They came out to the house and provided a free quote for the work. The quote provided was very fair. On the day of the service Rob showed up a little earlier than expected which was great. He ran the water line for my basement vanity and toilet in just a few hours. The quality of work was great and I'd definitely call them again for future work if needed. As a DIY'er, I appreciate Rob taking time out to explain some plumbing basics as he worked. Thank you for your help and service!

RBS was hired to remove and install a new sump pump system in a home. Rob had said that he was a master plumber and had been doing it for years. He said that he could have the project done in about an hour since it was a total rip out and replace. On the day of the job, he showed up 45 minutes late. He and his assistant looked to be about done, and I had somewhere to be so I paid him the agreed upon sum of $1100, with a tip for his willingness to take the job short notice and said I'd be back in an hour to check out the finished product. I returned and got a call that the job had not been completed, there was an issue with the primary pump and he needed to come back the next day to finish it up. The next day he spent 2 hours with it and still couldn't get it to work correctly and would need to come back on day 3. On day 3, he was not there, but some of his employees were there and they resolved that the pump itself was broken and would need replaced. Rob admitted that it had sucked up some gravel and that it was his fault it wasn't working. They would need to come back on day 4 to replace the primary pump. On day 4, again, Rob was not present and his crew attempted to replace the primary pump with an inferior pump that wasn't a like for like replacement. His employees stated the job was done and we went down to look at the finished product. On the surface the job looked complete, but it was very sloppy. After his crew left, piping disconnected and sprayed water in the basement. His employees again returned and worked until they said the job was done. I took their word for it and a few minutes later, again returned to the pump to check their work. Something was clearly not working correctly as water in the pit was not being removed correctly, the backup pump was working near constantly as well. I called Rob and sent multiple videos of the backup pump running regularly, and the primary pump not functioning. At no point did this ""Master Plumber"" actually come to the home to check the work of his employees. Instead I was told that 'his people said it was working when they left' and then he stopped responding to me. He blocked my number and refused my text messages. I was forced to call another contractor to completely redo the entire job at a cost of $3200. The plumber for Arlinghaus stated that the primary sump pump had come totally disconnected from the pipe and was non-functional. During installation they had broken the pipe that attached to the pump and tried to use a non-plumbing adhesive to glue the two parts together. The wiring for the backup battery had not been done correctly and that the battery probably would have failed under different conditions because of that. The contractor said the entire job looked like it had been completed by amateurs and that even a journeyman plumber would have done things differently. There was never any other follow up or contact from RBS and Rob. The job that supposedly would only take an hour of time went over 4 days, cost me over 12 hours of personal time to handle, saw the contractor block and refuse all further communication and failed to even sign off or even inspect the work of his crew. He refused to believe a homeowner who was not satisfied with clearly defective work and offered no recompense for the failure of his company to install the product correctly. I would never recommend anyone to hire this company. Rob may talk a good game, but he oversells his product, doesn't stand behind his work, and will cut off communication with you if things become difficult for him. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable for a contractor who says they specialize in plumbing.

They provided electrical, plumbing and trim carpentry services in my home and did a fantastic job. The process for getting a quote and providing the work was timely. The workers were very respectful. I am already thinking about our next home improvement projects and I know just who we will call!

Beware. I called this company and spoke to Rob about a few small things I needed to have done. He was very nice until I asked about how much would I pay for the first hour, a perfectly appropriate question for someone on a fixed income. That's when he decided to bow out of even doing business with me and said ""we'll figure something out and I'll call you in a little while"".
He never called back.
So, what kind of a company is turned off at being asked what it would cost me for the first hour?
After this, I question that the good reviews are from actual customers.
