Lance C.Joe and Nick are great. I had an issue with our tap line to the water main. They were the only plumbers that took the time to figure out the issue. The other plumbers tried to sell me on an expensive repair that wasn't necessary.
Lily F.Just three days before New Year's Eve and the City of New York DEP issues us a Three Day Notice to repair our water service line. What do we do?! We called the AWR that we bought insurance from and they sent a guy out to check it out and ultimately decided they don't cover this claim.
Now we're panicked, because we have no clue how to go about hiring a licensed master plumber with the know-how to do it right and do it well. I'm in tears. I start Googling, I start dialing, to get some guys out to come and give me cost estimate quotes. I had four companies come and investigate, three of them gave us quotes in a very close range.
So what made the difference with why we went with Raytone?
It was a gut feeling, that when we met Joe, he seemed like a sincere and knowledgeable guy who takes pride in his work, that getting it done but done exceptional is important to him. The communication with his colleagues Joe and Lee over the phone, email, and text, was clear and timely. Everyone was patient and professional, giving positive customer service and answering all our questions to make sure we understood the details of the job.
Same day, he comes back, sets up No Parking signs around the job site to prepare for early start the next day. The guys are here ON TIME before sun's up, wasting no time to get it done. Within a full work day, they've dug three holes, run a new line, patched up the holes, and those areas look even better than when they started the job.
For anyone in a similar situation in the future, I'd tell them to give Raytone a call first.
Bid out my job, which was replacement of a corroded water pipe from the city's main line to my house, which is quite an expensive undertaking and their prices were reasonable and broken down in detail. Talked to all the experts about water main line replacement, took my time, chose Raytone and was really glad I did. Took about a week to negotiate the line by line contract, but that is to be expected. Polite, on-time, and worked like horses right through lunch for almost 12 hours straight to make sure the water was turned off and back on to the house in just one day, which included re-pouring the concrete and re-paving the street with asphalt. When I first called for an estimate they showed up with an underground map of where all the pipe and utilities were underground from the city, which showed they meant business. Then over the course of a week they came back and spray painted in neon colors where the electric and gas lines were in the street and the sidewalk. The day before they posted signs all over the place saying ""No Parking"", but it is Brooklyn, and no one pays attention. They showed up at 7am and even helped located whose car belonged to which house on the street, and got them to move it, as they had pulled DOB and ECB permits for the work, and were legally entitled to have no cars in the area. They dug up the street, and under my house, and pushed through a pipe to the basement, raised the water meter up, installed a brand spanking new emergency turn off valve (replacing one that had to be at least 100 years old), swept and cleaned up everything, really stellar work. It was a major operation and problem and stress free (at least on my end), and even showed me the old corroded lead pipe they were replacing with copper and a PVC outer pipe (to guard against electric spike attacks on the copper from underground electric lines). Looks like I'm good to go for another 100 years.
I own a brownstone in NYC. I called a plumber who told me I had a leak from the main water line. He also told me that he would charge me upwards of $10,000 to repair. When I called Raytone for a second opinion, I was told to first call 311 to ensure that it really was a leak from the main water line before I scheduled a repair with anyone. Raytone also asked me if I had insurance that is offered through the City's DEP. I did not and I was not aware of it.
When I called 311 and they came, I was told that in fact there was NO leak from the Main NYC water line. I cannot thank Raytone enough for thier honesty and integrity. The company saved me thousands of dollars and I am so grateful I found them. I had heard they were professional and dedicated, but how do you thank this company for this honesty except to write a review and let everyone know about how honorable this company is!!
I call 6 companies for my water main break after dep gave me a 3 day notice. 5 out of the 6 didn't want to take the job do it to the fact my water line was next to the mta subway raytone was the only company that came out and spent time looking at every angle to fix the issue. They showed up the next and took care of the water main and clear out the 3 day notice with dep very professional company they will be the only people I call if I ever need this service again.
George P.These guys came in and took care of business,so organized so professional so clean,i cant say enough good things about these guys and the work they performed at my home(changed water main and line)you cant find companies like this anymore!!
Had the misfortune to have my water line break last week. I called my local Plumber who agreed it was a broken water line. Thankfully I had purchased insurance from American Water Resources from NYC DEP a few years ago. I called American Water Resources, they took my information, and within 20 minutes Raytone called and said they'd be right over. Michael from Raytone was there in 10 minutes and agreed this job was covered by the insurance. He took my information, told me he'd get the permits and have a Crew there the next day. True to his word at 7am their foreman Joe arrived with his Crew to start digging up the street and my front lawn. By 3:30pm the new line was installed and his Crew was filling the trenches. I couldn't believe how professional and courteous the entire Raytone Crew was. Everything looks better than before they started, including my lawn. They are very clean and wonderful to work with. Best of all because I purchased the insurance, which was billed to my water bill I paid nothing for a job that was probably more than $6,500. I was very impressed with The entire Raytone Team. They used top quality materials and were very professional. Sometimes when you are forced to work with an Insurance Company assigned Contractor, you worry about them cutting corners. Not with these Pro's...a very pleasant experience.
Steven W.As a typical Queens, NY homeowner I recently had the misfortune of having a deeply buried collapsed sewer pipe waste line which refused to clear after numerous attempts with a very robust Ridgid K400 electric snake. Solicited the usual reccommendations from friends and family and leveled the selection down to Raytone and Balkan both respected water main and sewer specialists. Raytone replied first in my emergency condition and after carefully detailing costs, materials, permits, and ability to quickly get me back up and running I went with Raytone. Quality and professionalism of this company was quite decent however I am sure I could have saved a few thousand had I shopped around. The Raytone work crew showed up each day at 7am sharp, worked almost until 6pm, and finished in 4 days complete with a newly poured walkway and sidewalk. These guys had everything on hand (mongo sized air compressor, dump truck, backhoe, soil compactor but more importantly non-imported 6-inch diameter cast iron sewer pipes and all required NYC work permits. The crew of 5 were extremely polite, knowledgeable, and provided daily updates which brought peace of mind to a already stressful situation. I hope never ever to see these guys around but if I'm still around when sewer repairs are again required I would NOT hesitate to hire Raytone Plumbing
