We first called these guys to help us with our farmhouse sink that we were trying to install in our home last year. Long story short, we couldn't find anyone willing to help us adjust our plumbing before our contractor could install our sink and countertops. I searched on one of those household repair sites and they were the first to get back to me and they were willing to come out right away. My timeline was a little crazy as I was trying to schedule their repairs before the sink and countertop installation AND I was trying to do all this before I had my baby which was due that week, if I remember correctly. They have an awesome lady at their office answering phones, Stephanie, who always answered all my questions and kept me in the loop on arrival times, etc. They did the job I needed done that no one else seemed to be willing to do at the time.
I called again this past October when we were in the middle of selling our house and our water heater decided to poop out on us. They came that day to check it out, and replaced it by the next day. Couldn't have asked for more helpful, personable service. They even remembered me from last time. Guess it's hard to forget the determined, nesting, pregnant lady trying to get last minute repairs done on her house!
Rick was there both times to oversee the work being done. I wish I knew the other guy's name, he was always working hard and kept me informed on what was going on, which I greatly appreciated. Thanks guys! You saved us twice!

Rick is awesome. Came to my mother's house a few weeks back and repaired the water softener within the hour and for a good price. Totally recommend him.

Rick and his team are awesome. Very easy to work with, find address and correct problems very quickly and at a reasonable price. Our home was built in 1953, we've had some issues and Rick has taken care of them all, never rushes and has always stuck around to explain things to my wife and I.

Watch out when wanting to use these guys. I have contacted them at least 4 times. We have bacteria known in our system have asked several times to come out and in the last month never seen them other than to send a plumber who had a lack of communication skills so we have no idea what's going on. There are 3 adults and 2 babies that have all been sick off and on so my next step is calling in a real professional to check out this system and to see if we are affected by the bacteria due to their inability to answer one question "" have you flushed the hot water tank since we discovered ecoli"".... totally unprofessional

Plumbing? I've been trying to a ding-dang plumber, or a handyman, to even call BACK for the past 3 weeks to no avail.

We have multiple properties and need a good plumber, often.

Rayne connected immediately, set up convenient appoint. They were exactly on TIME (I swear this is true) and the reverse osmosis and plumbing job I have been sweating took them 15 minutes. BOOM!

I explained the issue on the phone and the fellow brought all the correct tools, which included a bicycle pump. Yes, the Rayne Man had a bicycle pump with him. No running back to fetch a thing. He knew exactly what he needed.

However, the guy switched ON something that was evidently OFF that had nothing to do with Reverse Osmosis. The house silently flooded. The tenants weren't home for 3 days, $7,000.00 in water damage.

Rayne made it rain, refuses to admit this is their fault AND expects me to pay the visit bill in full.

Is there a plumber in the Monterey Bay?

Watch out for this guys. So here is the story...

I have a unit (water filter system) under the kitchen sink which had their name on it. It was already there when we bought the house. One day, it started leaking so I called them to have it checked. Someone came, and said that the filter housing (the case with 3 filters) is broken and, he has to take it with him to have it checked. I can see it has a hole and thought that they would just replaced this filter housing. Anyway, he left and took the filter housing with him.

They called back and said that it can not be repaired, and offered to install a new unit for $800 plus installation fees. I politely declined because after doing research, I can find comparable Under-sink Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Filter System priced from $146-$465 depending on the features.

Now i get a bill for $189 for a visit that took less than an hour, and they took my filter housing.

I would not recommend this company.

These guys do great work, very personable, and quick to respond.

Had some start up pain with a whole house carbon filter, as it turned out it was the wrong unit and had smell issues. But they debugged and fixed it, and now our water is very nice indeed. After a few months, I may bump this review up to 5 stars if things go well. In any case, I admire their tenacity in fixing this initial problem

We had an ugly experience with another water company that bordered on vandalism, which is why we picked Rayne. It is run by local business people, not hapless bureaucrats who could care less. Personally, I feel much better working with real people, don't you?

Highly recommend for follow through, and the filters work great. We LOVE our soft, clean water.

Called and spoke with Rick about my under the sink Reverse Osmosis water unit that was having problems. He immediately knew what the problem was and sent Louis out that same day to fix it. Awesome customer service and would not hesitate to use again.

For the past year noticed the water was hard. Coffee maker had large calcium build up, laundry affected as well as our new refrigerator drinking water and ice maker. We called Rick, the owner and he finally came out. We had been paying monthly all along. We noticed the tank had not been replaced for almost a year and Rick admitted their may have been a problem with the service person getting into the garage. We never received a knock on the door nor a phone call from their office of this problem, yet they continued to bill. Rick seems to also have a problem dealing with women as he kept saying he would discuss the issues with my husband.

Rick from Rayner Water of Monterey came out a few times to service our GE reverse osmosis system and said he would be installing GE filters in the system. We always thought the water did not taste as good as when the system was new, but figured it could just be our imagination. Then we had a different company come out to service the system and they brought GE filters sealed in GE boxes. When the serviceman removed the old filters that Rayne Water of Monterey had installed it was quite obvious that Rayne Water of Monterey located on Broadway Ave in Seaside had NOT installed GE filters. In fact, it was easy to see that the construction quality of the filters Rayne had used was nowhere near the quality of the GE filters. One was thin and flimsy and the other were thick and sturdy - night and day. My guess is they use cheap parts so they can stick the difference in their pocket.

I would NOT recommend using these guys unless you go to Home Depot and buy the GE filters yourself (or the proper filters for your system) and just pay them for their labor. But then again if you can't trust them to use the proper filters what else can't you trust them with?? We thought they had given us a good deal but ultimately we had suffered with poor quality water because of them using inferior parts. Not something you want to do when your consuming it on a daily basis!
