Raymark came out to scope our sewer line and found a crack. They quoted $800 to fix it. It seemed really high and after a few minutes they dropped the bid to $300 (estimate) if we would dig the hole ourselves and backfill. Yes, that's a $500 price break to dig your own hole? The work was completed and the guys did an excellent job. However, they called with the total bill, $508! I could understand if they went over 10-20%, but the cost was over 50% more, and they never called to say the job was going to take longer or cost more. After talking with Margaret at the office, she was very rude and I'm still trying to get a copy of a detailed bill days later to know exactly what they charged me for. Looks like they had a consumer complaint on the BBB for billing issues before, guess I should have done my homework before hiring them.
Discovered the flex connector on the hot side of the water heater was dripping and more than just plop, plop. Called at 8 am, told they were booked solid but might be able to get someone to stop by. Yup. At 1:30 called to tell me Jim was on the way. He took a look, got his tools and a new flex connector and was out at 2:00...and he even mopped up the floor!!!
Used to use Raymark, but never again. When purchasing a home, we called out low water pressure from the inspection. The seller had Steve from Raymark certify that the water pressure was ""normal"". Based on their word, we went forward with the purchase. When called and spoke to Steve, he said OH, the water pressure is normal to the house, but you need a new/bigger water supply line from the meter! CHA CHING! This particular house has the water line not only out to the street, but down past the house next door as well. We would not have gone forward with the purchase had we known. He said he would provide a quote (twice) for a pump at the meter that could help improve the pressure - but he never followed up. We are beyond disappointment and will be out $XX,000 at some point to get this problem resolved.
Moshi M.I was recommended to call Raymark to get a plumber to fix my pipes for my washing machine. However, Margaret, the non-tech customer service person was very helpful in troubleshooting over the phone and will try to find the right answers and get back to me before sending anyone out to fix my problems. I like that... saves time and money!
These guys have the WORST customer service. I usually don't write any reviews, but feel compelled to steer people away from this nightmare organization. I had spent thousands of dollars replacing old cement pipe from my house to the street as it was badly needed. Got a good quote, but didn't realize they would make money by refusing to do quality work. They would not ever listen to my concerns or questions about the work. They only seemed interested in getting in and out as quick as possible. For example, they needed to tear out some of the sidewalk and replaced it with concrete that stuck out like a sore thumb. I asked them about this and all they wanted to say is that it met the requirements even though they agreed it looked odd and did not come close to matching the existing. Mostly, whenever I tried to bring up a concern, it is met with evasive answers and what seems to me absolutely no interest in satisfying the customer. I will certainly look for services that provide excellent customer service. Life is too short to be given the run around.
I just want to give rave reviews to plumber Tony. He worked on my bathroom during a remodel. When we thought the sink I picked wouldn't fit into the space I had after it was plumbed, I thought we might need to run out and get a new sink. Tony worked with it and made it fit. He turned what might have been a bad day into a great one. He was also friendly to work with and my infant son loved to watch him use his tools.
I called Rescue Rooter (Yes, I know this is a review for Raymark...read on) last night around 7:45 because my kitchen sink was clogged and backing up into the sink in the bathroom that shares a wall and plumbing with the kitchen. It took nearly an hour for the dispatcher to call me back to tell me when the repair person would be arriving. I was told he would be here in 50 minutes. He arrived over an hour later. By this time it was past 9:30 pm. He was here for at least 30 minutes looking over the situation (we had already removed and cleaned out all the P-traps) and told me:
1. I have galvanized pipes. They are old (the house was built in the 40s). I would probably need to re-plumb the whole house and it would cost around $15,000!
2. He could try to cable out the blockage, but he said there was less than a 50/50 chance he could get his cable into the area where the clog was and we might need to rip out the wall to replace pipes .
3. Whether he was able to clear the blockage or not, if he attempted it, I would still have to pay the full fee of $295!
I told him I didn't want his services and then I called Raymark in the morning (after stressing in the night about what massive plumbing situation and bill I was going to have to deal with the next day!). The dispatcher called me back within about 15 minutes to let me know who would be coming and when. She called me back about 10 minutes before the repair person arrived to let me know he would be there in about 10 minutes.Tony arrived at 2:30, just as I had been told he would, and 35 minutes after arriving, the clog was cleared, everything was cleaned up and it cost $155 + tax! Tony was efficient, competent and a pleasure to deal with!
Luba F.I have used this company for over 4 years for various projects big and small. They are always quick to respond, and fix things right and the first time. The owner is wonderful, very professional and pleasant to work with. I recommend them highly.
I have had nothing but postive experience with Raymark.
I had to have them install a new toilet and later fix the faulty shower put in right before I bought my house.
They have always been on time.
When I bought my house 2 years ago I wanted to put a laundry in my basement for my tenants in the MIL down there. Raymark came out & put in the necessary laundy pipes to drain the washer. They fed it directly into the pipe that drained from the kitchen into the ejector pump. I found the tradesman grumpy & not helpful & the alarm kept going off after he left. I hard to turn it off as everything seemed to be working OK. Eventually after a couple of calls a few days later he came back out & plugged the alarm into the outlet in the correct configuration & it stopped ringing. He had me sign an invoice with ""complimentary client education- no charge"" on it!.Then about 6 months ago the ejector pump was only working intermittently & getting stuck in the on position so I called Paris plumbing which came highly recommended. They came straight out to assess the situation but before they could even access my ejector pump they would have to undo all the work that Raymark did. That was because the drain from the washer was totally making it impossible to remove the lid of the pump. In fact it was sealing it closed making pump access totally impossible. It was going to take 2 hours before they could even look at my pump to diagnose the problem. They could have fixed it & charged me but they suggested that I call Raymark to come out & redo the shoddy workmanship. This is when the owner of Raymark came out promptly & brought with her a senior knowledgeable tradesman who admitted that the work done previously was totally not acceptable. They redid it all & didn't charge me at all. They unclogged the ejector pump & I didn't need to have any more work done. All I had to pay was for Paris to come out initially & put an hour into trying to get to my pump. Paris is cheaper but Raymark was more specialized in ejector pump work.
