My appointment for a leaking tub faucet was originally scheduled with a window of 11:00 - 1:30. As of 2:30 the technician hadn't arrived and I had to reschedule for the following day.

When the technician arrived the next day he quoted me about $545.00 to inspect/replace the tub faucet and do a water leak test. This company doesn't provide itemized receipts so I don't know how much I paid for the new tub faucet. The technician didn't have the new faucet with him even though I described the issue in great detail when making the appointment. So I had to sit around for more than 1 hour waiting for someone to deliver a simple tub faucet and the water test involved turning on the shower and observing for leaks.

Given the entire name, once associated with a political stance, I wanted to like this place because it was funny to me. But, that is not the case and it was not funny. We had a stuck brass vintage-looking gooseneck faucet that needed replacing the O ring. The faucet cost us more than $1000 16 years ago and was of solid brass. Mind you my husband called another plumber, although I told him not to but to fix it himself. That plumber said, ""Throw it out."" My husband, knowing me, called Ray the Plumber. My husband told him the issue. They sent a young kid, to me, that was probably in short pants when I bought the faucet. He charged us $75 for coming and then fidgeted with the faucet. He said I can't fix this replace it. I told my husband ""get your checkbook out if we are going to replace this faucet. He went back to the original plan I suggested and soaked the faucet in Blaster Penetrating Catalyst overnight which unstuck the faucet. He replaced the O ring saving us more than $1000 in today's market.

My point is that it would have been better not to come rather than to come and in 15 minutes say throw it out and give me $75! In fairness to Ray the Plumber, I know you are a business but maybe charge $150, take the darn faucet to your shop, soak it in a catalyst, and, return it the next day to reinstall it for my lazy husband!

I originally called to have a wax seal replaced, which was quoted at $500, which is insane. when the tech was done ""fixing"" the seal, the toilet would no longer flush. the toilet was working fine beforehand. they told me I needed to get my cesspool pumped. Another $550 later and the problem persisted. Now all of a sudden I needed to get my toilet snaked. Another $350 later and the toilet finally flushes again. This company broke my toilet, and then charged me $350 to fix it. They completely took advantage of the fact that I am a single woman who does not know the ins and outs and stupidly trusted ""professionals"". I would never, ever use this company again. they will swindle you if they think they can.

This is a follow up to my original review 13 days ago. Since Ray the Plumber never contacted me regarding the horrible and unprofessional way I was treated, I engaged another plumber to fix the problem RtheP FAILED to fix. Turns out, the bowl was not properly snaked. As I had informed him, a small make up compact was probably lodged in the toilet trap. Sure enough, it was right at the start of the trap and with proper snaking, would have been freed to remove. Rather than mess with this toilet further I had a new one installed. Had Ray the Plumber honored the word of his workers, he could well have had this additional work. My lesson is to never trust the word of a company unless it is in writing before the work is started.

The office personal were lovely and made my appointment for early the next morning
Tom K - Arrived nice and early the next morning. Identified the problem and fixed it. He was finished by 9:30 Tom K was personable and cleaned up to perfection!!!!

I called Ray the Plumber for a water leak and their technician Alex arrived in about an hour. he explained everything that needed to be done and the estimate was reasonable
Alex was courteous and professional and well represents Ray the Plumber

I am still in shock at being charged $515 for an outdoor spigot replacement. In fact I'm embarrassed that I paid that amount. This job was not rocket science and very easy to get to as the pipe ran along the inside of the garage wall with no leaks.
The plumber didn't even have to bend down.
I can't say anything negative about the plumber as he is told what to charge the customer. And oh by the way they gave me a 5% senior citizen discount.

I've used them a few times I've would say that there appointment scheduling is very efficient. when I need a local plumber and they've always answered the phone and here in a timely manner. You can shop around Ray the plumber is local here in Long Island. Big fleet of trucks and Plumbers

Everything about the service I received was great. The technician I had, Tom, showed up bright and early, was incredibly nice and helpful, and made all repairs in a timely manner. He also took the time to explain things to me thoroughly and helped with my decision-making process. Would highly recommend Ray the Plumber services!
