Company Overview

Since 1906, we have proudly served as a family-run plumbing company. We specialize in code violations, sewer lines, new home plumbing, lavatories, and kitchens. We provide services like sewer main clearing, drain cleaning, and kitchen and bathroom renovations.

I am proud to lead our family business. Brad Rasmussen, the President, has led the company since 1988, taking the reins after his father, Ray Rasmussen, retired. My grandfather and great-grandfather also contributed to this family legacy. My son Nate, a qualified Journeyman plumber, holds the position of Vice President at Ray Rasmussen Plumbing.

As the fourth generation owner, I take pride in our family business that began in 1906. I began my plumbing apprenticeship right after high school and earned my Master Plumber's license in the 1980s. Now, my son Nate represents the fifth generation as a Journeyman Plumber.

If you need quality, experienced plumbing work done, call Rasmussen!

This is going to look just like the review I left on Google because it was both relevant and way too long to re-type!

Our first experience with Rasmussen Plumbing was May 2017. Our water heater had just ruptured, causing minor water damage to our basement--thankfully we caught it as it happened instead of after a day or two! Rasmussen Plumbing came out right away, helped drain and remove the old tank, inspected the plumbing, updated the shut-off valves and basically got everything ready to have a new tank installed--which they did the very next morning. Right then we knew we had a quality service we could depend on. It certainly didn't hurt that it cost less than I was anticipating!

Fast Forward 3 years to spring of 2020.

Our refrigerator--which we knew was old--failed one night. We found it the next day (we were able to salvage most things) and bought a new refrigerator but the installers would not connect the water lines unless there is a shut off valve on the same floor within 6 feet of the refrigerator...what 1960s built-home has that? So...kitchen sink needs an update, we have an old shut off valve in the basement I want removed (before it fails), we have a pipe with a large mineral deposit that might be from leaking over time and we need a new shut off valve installed within a day or two...Rasmussen was our first and only call. Since it was not an emergency, they made an appointment for the next morning. And then called two hours later the same day we made the appointment to say they had a break in the day if we wanted someone to come over now? Yes! Yes we do! Nate came out, took a look at everything and went right to work. He took care of everything, left no mess behind, and the price...let's just say I owed my wife lunch since it was way less than I anticipated. These guys are top notch and we will be proud to be hanging their business card on our new refrigerator!

So I had an appointment at 6 am yesterday for an estimate . He did not show. I called and he said he had the wrong address, so instead of trying to call me to get the correct address, he left to get coffee (why would you not call the customer to ask for the correct address). I asked if he could come back, but he said he just ordered coffee and couldn't right now. I gave him the benefit of doubt and rescheduled for this morning at 6 am. This morning after I waited by my driveway for 15 minutes to flag him, again no call / no show. I called and left a message 4 hours ago. As of yet have not received a call back. I would not recommend.

We were in need of a plumber and we were given this plumber's name by a neighbor. Being from out of town, it was a bit of a challenge to schedule an appointment. We scheduled a time the following week and Brad showed up on time with a phone call that he was on the way prior to the appointment. The job was to get a toilet to flush properly. Routing and ""chemicalizing"" didn't help. Brad left with the chemicals in the toilet. We would try and flush later in the day. We did and the problem was still a problem. We called Brad, left a message. This was late on a Friday. The next Monday, we called Brad again, talked about them problem and decided that since the routing/chemicals didn't work, it would be best to replace the toilet. We scheduled a 10:00 A.M. appt. the following Thursday. Remember, we are from out of town and it is quite a drive to get to the site of the nearly no-flush toilet. 10:00 A.M. comes and no plumber. A bit later we call and are told that something else came up and that job is taking time and that the plumber will show up around 12:00 P.M. 12:00 P.M. -- no plumber. We call again and this time leave a message. A bit later, Brad returns the call and says he is on the way. Great. At 1:00 P.M., he shows up and gets to work. 3 hours late, but at least he made it. A couple of hours later, the problem is resolved. It took longer than expected since he ran into several issues. I guess that appointments later in the day suffered the same delays as we did. Brad DID solve the problem. Brad did a GOOD job. He knew what he was doing, He kept the site reasonably clean (4 stars). Labor, of course, cost more than parts. Cost per hour ... can't judge since we didn't know the going rate for the area, but he was honest about the time.

The ONLY issue we had was that Brad didn't call ahead of time when he was delayed. He knew we were from out of town and that it made timing appointments inconvenient. Being late ... can't help it always, but CALL.

Would we hire this company again? Yes.
