Rapid Sewer and Septic Tank Cleaners

This company and its sister branches deserve zero stars for being a scam and a liar, especially for being poor at communicating between contractors and the customer. We had a sewage backup in Staten Island in our home a few days ago and Rapid Sewer was able to respond within 2 hours call time. I give them credit for that, but everything went downhill to the dumps from there, like your toilet bowl. The technicians sent to our house never communicated with managers at the office level. The technicians also had the owner loads of sewage into the backyard, which poses SERIOUS health concerns. I know they have to spot the problem in the sewage system, but this is totally unacceptable. Second, the payment system is a scam and fraud. The technicians promised $75 fee deduction since there not able to clear the drain otherwise it is $175: they quoted it as if their managers agreed to it. They verbally provided these estimates and we paid them with trust. The following morning, it was a fiasco. RAPID SEWER never contacted their second contractor to coordinate a join effort to clear the sewer and make temporary repairs: the customer/owner had to become the middle man. A Rapid Sewer manager even mention to return the $75 service charge and rudely tried to dismiss the whole problem. In the end, the owner was able to coordinate the two contractors to rectify the communication and schedule problem, but this should never be the case. Then, another problem showed up. Both the second contractor and Rapid Sewer never 1) agreed on a pricing 2) denied the pricing quoted by two technicians from the day before. While they finally on the pricing verbally without any written documentation, they are a SCAM AND FRAUD. Later, we contacted them again to receive the $75 service fee back since it was also verbally mentioned that $75 would be deducted back on the final balance: it NEVER happened and they even denied the existence of such a thing.

IN THE END, this Staten Island company is a fraud. I will be filing this company with the NYC SBA and NYC 311. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR unless you want to lied to and create unnecessary frustration as the owner. Again, DO NOT use this company.

Mike was professional but most importantly knowledgeable. I hope this company knows that he is a great hire (I work in Human Resources, so I know). Mike explained what the problem was, offered us semimonthly services that we didn't know Rapid Sewer provided and gave us insight on what would stop the constant calls to Rapid Sewer (at least 3 times a year). I'm very happy and will only call them for help. They always get to my home within an hour.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!! if I can leave no stars I would!!!! First of all they ARE NOT LICENSE PLUMBERS. I didn't find that out until after. they installed a check valve and sub pump for me and twice we had a sewage backup and I still had a FOOT OF SEWER WATER IN MY HOUSE. They came quick and ALWAYS HAD AN EXCUSE ON WHY my $4,000 check valve and sub pump did not work and just left us there with SEWER in my house and said there is nothing we can do...NO customer service skills and the girl on the phone was getting annoyed that we keep calling, MAYBE IF SOMEONE WOULD CALL US BACK WE WOULDNT HAVE TO KEEO CALLING.....I have called the company asking to speak to a manager or the owner and they have been dodging my calls!! I will be taking action to SUE them!!

This was our first time using Rapid. Our neighbor recommended them to us. Mike responded and unclogged our toilet. He had the right auger, strength and energy to do the job and do it quickly. Reasonable price too.

Rapid Sewer has a rapid response time compared to Roto Rooter and much more professionalism and friendliness. Plus their prices are better! For example, Roto Rooter charged us $475 for a snake drain but Rapid said they only charge $175 for night service.

They snaked a blockage in our development. First they came and advised us to call the DEP because they thought it was caused by the city but the DEP came and checked under all the manhole covers confirming that the blockage was somewhere on our development. Then Rapid Sewer returned and snaked the development's drain back out to the city. Whew, glad that's over!

Today my grandmother had a sewer back up in her basement. Naturally panicking she called Rapid to get someone to help figure out the source of the problem. With in 45 mins a young man named Mike C. arrived. By the time I got to her house she was finished with the job (after only 45mins) she will not stop talking about how kind, helpful and informative he was. He fixed her issue and helped her to clean up the mess! It was so nice to hear that someone kind went to help her and thought full of an elderly women! A+++ Mike C grandma loves you!

These guys are awesome. I've used them in 2 houses over the last 15 years. They always answer the phone, send someone out as quickly as possible and never over charge or up -sell.
The technicians have always been innovative when needed, are presentable and nice.
They just came out on a stormy Saturday evening and cleared a clog without charging an arm and a leg.

Absolutely trustworthy and rapid response for sewer emergencies I have had them come out twice and both times they have been extremely professional and very economical. I would never call any other sewer company in Staten Island other than these guys.

Very poor customer service. Came to my house to check a potential clogged sink, suggested no work be done and charged me a $75 service fee. I understand a minimal service fee, but $75 is ridiculous. Michelle from their office told me it was to send someone out to my house and for gas in the truck. Guy was here for five minutes and my house is three minutes away! The worst part is I am (was) a repeat customer. Will never use this company again and you shouldn't either. Highly unethical.
